Dboy65
As many of you know rares have been one of the greatest symbols of wealth in the game but with that dont they carry some sort of fear with them?now im not that rich and pretty far from a rare but i know even if i had something minimally cheap when it came to rares(a santa or mask) i would still be extremely fearful of hackers random events and just the dangers that surround us in runescape. so to those of the richers players i ask you this, do rares bring some kind of fear with them, or are they just fun all around? highlanders
Lol you people are so ignorant about hacking programs. 1- They crack using common passwords, don't use a common password and you are safe. 2- If you don't download questionable stuff, don't worry about keyloggers, Jagex is trying to make it seem much worse than it actually is. 3- Random events is the only thing you should be scared of. 2480+ total
das1330
Well having a santa scared the crap out of me, because If you look around the forums there is stories all around about people who got rares out of the bank to show their friends, or to alch in and they lagged out and were attacked by an evil chicken or somthing. That Is why I rarely, If ever wear it in public. That and the constant N00bs asking for money when your on the free worlds.
NJE03
I do not wear any rare often because I have friends who have lost rares due to lag and other unfortunate things. I do not have the best connection in the world and the last thing I want to do is die with a rare. :ohnoes: [spoiler=Stats:]Updated December 22, 2011: Total level - 1442 - 170M+ XP , Combat level - 115Combat skills: Attack - 90, Defence - 99 (24.45m+ XP), Strength - 90, Constitution - 99 (16.42M+ XP) Ranged - 99 (13.32M+ XP), Prayer - 60, Magic - 99 (13.25M+ XP)Non-Combat skills: Cooking - 99 (13.80M+ XP), Woodcutting - 99 (31.95M+ XP), Fishing - 90, Firemaking - 99 (24.82M+), Crafting - 90, Smithing - 90, Mining - 85, Runecrafting - 60, Dungeoneering -

misterxman
Random events are not the only things you should watch out for. Things like last year's fallador massacre may happen after every update, so carrying a tele, anti pot, and even food is as paranoidically safe as you can get. Duke_Freedom
I never really worried about having rares security wise - you simply don't get hacked if you don't do anything that you shouldn't. Frequently random events did make me more anxious about having ~1bil value on me all the time back in the days and being able to loose it so easily though - one of the reasons why I've always opposed them, other then the fact that I don't believe honest players should ever have to suffer in their gameplay due to autoers and anti-autoing measurements. I've always considered it a sign of weakness in Jagex ability to actually do something against the autoers. The value of my bank at its height. Estimated value at the peak of the rares market: 250 billion+.Most likely the largest trade in RuneScape ever. Estimated value at the peak of the rares market: 70 billion+. Scars
You should be more worried about the people making you go crazy when you're wearing a rare. :XD: Thanks to WithTheQuickness for the sig!
jemathonical
I remember a TETAU Event 'Holiday Item Showoff'. Lots of peopel were showing off p-hats and other rares. A lot of randoms that day, a lot of people got freaked out. :) ^Sir Jem 05-The Bunny Drinking Blog?^ Click it!

I might feel that way because if I had a rare, it would be almost 9/10 or more of my wealth. I would probably start doing what I did as a noob, carrying an axe and tinderbox for cooking food. If I did have a rare, it would become very dusty in the bank, something for me smile at whenever I open up the banking window
NinjaChicken
sadly, i do not have a rare :( but if i did then i would not be scared. i never ever lagg and my password is too hard to guess [/bads]

Freesia
I used to own a red mask, trust me, the first ever thing i did next was to bank it. Afterwards I don't ever take my rare out of the bank, unless it is to sell it. I did not even wear it at all. I'm not being paranoid about losing my rare, in fact I see no purpose to ever wear it for the sake of bragging. Strangely with WotLK so near, I wished I could delay it a bit to push through that last TBC content in MH/BT :'(.
Umega
I'm more scared of my rares going down in price and them not becoming as popular. Though I do like to store my rares in my bank while I log off. No longer playing Runescape, I caught the WoW bug.

Bludragon124
I don't worry too much about my mask... I'm wearing it while fishing right now, as I type this. Of course I'm slightly afraid of a random, but that's why I have sound effects on :) I do store it in my bank when I log off, though, as I do with most expensive things I have when I can.
