After several years...The elusive GHOST PICTURE!!! :P

Okay, so I finally tried to scan it...No dice, my scanner was too small! So I took a picture OF the picture. Sadly, that takes a bit away from it since you can't see the detail, but this is the best I can do.

A little background:

For the last several years, I've been saying I had a picture of a ghost in front of my house when it was first built in 1890 something. I'd just never gotten around to posting it. My house has long been suspected of being "haunted". My mom has heard a little girl laughing on numerous occasions when noone is home and noone is outside around our house. No TV on, nothing. She heard a little girl laugh next to her when she was taking a nap and she woke up and noone was home and noone was outside. She's also been making food in the kitchen before and had a drawer that she was reaching for open as if the ghost was "helping" her. We've all also seen one case where a candle flew off a shelf and hit the floor while we were watching TV together. Other than that, I don't believe anyone has "seen" her or anything like that...I have seen things out of the corner of my eye before but when you look, it's nothing, so I don't count that as some kind of experience. :P

So, here it is. I'd appreciate it if you didn't go try to sell it to ebaumsworld.com or something, but you can surely try because I already beat ya' to it, so your attempt will be pretty futile. :P

What I can see but you probably cant:

There is no doubt in my mind that this isn't some kind of camera flaw or double-exposure. One could argue that it was a little girl spinning in the yard or something, but the body/face is completely translucient; I can see the house through it. There are two faces, both appear to be the same face. Also, it doesn't make sense for this to be a little girl from this family because 1) the previous owners had two kids (pictured on the porch! :P) and 2) why wouldn't she be up with the rest of her family? Kind of an odd place to be.

Think of it what you will. I don't expect anyone to automatically believe in ghosts' over this. :P I'm still not so sure myself!

There. Now you have it!

Whoa, that is pretty creepy. Who took that picture?

My guess would be the father of the family, in 1890 something, right after it was built.

If you want to see something really funny, I could show you my house now. The porch is no longer even on the house, and those teeny tiny little tree's? They're absolutely massive now. :P

In for a more modern look of the house :P

Anyhow - if the house is indeed haunted, you have yourself quite the friendly ghost :P

The tree's on the side of the house were just as big as the one in the front, but we cut them down and replaced them with silver maples many years ago, even THOSE are pretty big now, as you can see. :P But compare the one in the front back then and now, you'll see how old that picture is.

And yea, I liked the house better back then. ;) We have no idea who took the front and back prch off, but they were stupid. It was a gorgeous house, now it's just...A house. :P

Is it just me or do my picture things keep not working? It's like the code is messing itself up or something. *Shrug* maybe it'd just me, but I've been posting pics for years with no problems, so if it is all messed up, don't blame me. :P

not working, come on I wanna see the ghost!

Don't you know the first rule of MMO's? Anyone higher level than you has no life, and anyone lower than you is a noob.

In middle school we had to make little cameras out of salt cartons, I'm sure other's here have had to do the same or similar, and then take B&W photos with them for our art projects. We were told not to do landscapes, because they wouldn't turn out very well. One of my friends decided to do a landscape anyway. I was there when he took it. He just pointed the camera at an open field near the school, waited a few seconds, and closed it back up. When it was developed, you could clearly see a man standing there. He looked almost like a Civil War soldier.

Anyway, back to your picture. The ghost you are talking about, it is at the very bottom of the photo, in front of the drain pipe, correct?

Well, I was gunna say I don't see any faces you are talking about, but now I do.

Oh, and try using this code for the photo

It's because you've copied the wrong code :P

Don't use the "show friends" link one... because the forums don't allow the use of the ? in urls, so it doesn't parse as a photo. You need to use the direct link to image ;)

Theres your pic.

I shall take my flock underneath my own wing, and kick them right the [bleep] out of the tree. If they were meant to fly, they won't break their necks on the concrete.
So, what is 1.111... equal to?

10/9.

Please don't continue.

I see the blur - and it looks like a child in some of the clothes fashioned by other children back then.

:uhh: I used to live in a house, that at night sometimes while walking to the bathroom you would think you saw a young girl walking up the stairs.

I still believe in ghosts :ohnoes:

"Ghosting" is common in old photographs. It's because the cameras take longer to capture the scene (longer exposure times than most modern cameras) and they created transparent images of things that are stationary for a bit and then move. The transparent figure in the photograph looks like a girl that walked by, stared at the camera and then moved on, causing a ghosting effect. That's what I think that is causing that transparent figure in the photograph.

Here is an example of what I'm talking about.

Weird picture. :o

Though, it could of been an accident to.

I believe theres should be, or atleast was a ghost in my house.

a year ago when my mom got her digital camera for her birthday, I noticed one picture had a little glowy ball floating around in it, later one I took pictures of the same spot in different angles and the floating thing was there in all of them, my dad just dismissed it as dust on the lense. (Though the rest of the pictures were fine)

A tv that we had in the basement would do random things like get half staticy, or turn on randomly, flip channels, change volume to extremes.

A thing you might wanna try, set out a voice recorder in an empty place in your house, voice recorders can sometimes pick up frequencies that you can't normally hear. Also, try borrowing or buying an oujia (sp?) board. =)
