 It is pretty disgusting to see the consciouses of some people here. Grow up and learn the mature way to handle the situation by handing it in.
Woot I found 1,000,000 dollars on the ground! Oh wait... I should do the right thing... *Hands into security* *Security quits job and buys a mansion*

How many songs does it hold?

Your name is "bet you fail", and you're starting a business with your mom? I'm not even going to touch that.....

With money its two cases. obviously you would turn in 1 million dollars. Thats a large sum to lose. Even 100 or 50 dollars is a large sum. But if you find like 5$ on the street or something, thats not bad.

speaking of ipods my friend keeps leaving his at my other friends house so my other friend turned to volume all the way down and locked it. then he set the language to a different one and the owner hasnt noticed.

Not true. I lost my virginity to the log out button #-o
You should have knocked him out and thrown him out the window (I actually did that at school).

Good job for taking it to lost and found, might be a lucky find to you but someone's gonna miss that ipod. I lost my phone the once and it was ex-contract so had 1000 free minutes and 600 free texts a month, was so gutted, spent ages looking for it.

Wouldn't do it with money though, any pillock could just say it was theirs and there's no real way to prove it except for CCTV, and even then security would more than likely nick a 20 if you gave it to them. Nice one for handing it in, you've probs made someones day a lot better :)

Wow. Call me immature for wanting to keep it?

Who cares? Do what you want in life. I don't see guilt in it knowing that 95% of other people would keep it if it was mine that I had lost. Therefore, if I find something I want (to some extent, like money and such but if it was like a dog or something yeah I'd return it  ).

If you found 100$ on the ground you wouldn't keep it? Some random person could just come and claim it. I'd rather keep it for myself.

Here's my version of your story.

so liek, diz kid, right, he like, pushed me and junk, right? so dude, I like totally whacked him man, he was like, dude wtf? nd I waz like, dude stfu. srsly dude, stfu.

THAT'S WHAT HAPPENED RIGHT?

Who cares?
The person who lost it. :|

Once again if you lost it I'm 95% sure that person would most likely keep it. Therefore, what goes around comes around. And I would most likely keep it.

Also a good lesson to pay more attention to your valuables. Sure it's harsh but eh, life still goes on.

I guess you could try to find the person. But it's a mall, thousands of different people enter and leave the store a day. I'd say try and find the owner. Don't just keep it without doing anything. If that was your ipod you'd want someone to hand it back to you. Gl anyhow..

If it was any other item, I'd say keep it. Not iPods though. Waaay too personal, and essential.

[what the heck]? Cell phone, keys, wallet? ipods aren't personal nor essential

Maybe not to you, to me it definitely is.

From saving disabled ladies to pocketing someones ipod, you're an interesting character aren't you

I hope your logic is true, in a way. Because that means you'll be led across the road one day, when you go blind, by some 2 faced delinquent.

Why doesnt everyone stop pretending to be the saints they arent? I know i would keep it. Hell, I wouldn't think twice about keeping it. As some of you already said, yes, it is karma. Maybe the person who lost it was a terrible person and didnt deserve to have it. Maybe a kid stole it and then lost it. Maybe a kid worked about 20 hours of his life to earn that and mis placed it. Who knows? We will never know. That is why it isn't my problem if someone loses something. Firstly, it will never make or break someones life. Its an iPod. A pleasure. A bonus in life. Its not like you found someones life savings under the table. I guess what I am getting at is why bother to try and do the right thing? Sure the person will be grateful for it being returned, if he does seem to have faith in people and think that someone would report it. But wouldnt it be more important to have that person taught a lesson? Dont leave your sh!t lying around? Life is about personal experiences and how you can go about life with them. Keep the iPod.

for all you people who are talking about "karma" wouldnt the kid have lost it for a reason if it was "karma"

What the hell does Karma have to do with anything about losing something? You could be a priest, a saint, even God himself and could lose or misplace things. You don't know the person who lost it, I don't, not even the thread creator does.

Nonetheless, it's good to hear you turned it in. You did the right thing and someday will be rewarded for it i'm sure. ::'

Well, according to karma, what goes around comes around.

If the people in this thread are believing in karma, that means the person who lost the ipod in some way deserved it, meaning keeping it is somewhat justified in the eyes of the karma believer.

[i dont believe in karma for the record]

Too bad Karma also includes past lives, so the kid who lost it could be punished for something he didn't even do

Wow now karma really sucks...

Well, technically, wouldnt he have done the bad thing anyway because its his past life, even if he doesnt remember it? I really dont know too much about karma so correct me if im wrong.

I'd keep that iPod. I don't care what anyone says, I bet most other people would too.

I'd feel bad if I lost mine and nobody reported it...but then again I guess I wasn't taking good enough care of it if I lost it.

I really wouldn't call it an era. It was more of a definitive time period during which dinstinctive characteristics were expressed in similar ways.

Well it's the same soul but a different body, I don't know how hindus believe the soul affects personality or what, but I do know that hinduism is impossible to understand and that you never remember your past life.
