____
Personally i'm not much for clubbing. It's alright, but when you get split from your group (which can be for anything) you best have a place to go instead. And given that you're under aged to begin with - if you get asked for id at the first place, you best turn around and go home right there.
justin_m23
I don't think this is the best place to ask. I'm sure half the people that say no would stay in there room for their whole life if they could. No, you don't have to get drunk to have a good time. Well, some people do. But not all people are losers like that. Yes, clubs have loud noises and flashing lights. What are you, 90? Get over it. No, don't go just for getting with drunk girls. That a pathetic way to get action. It may happen, but don't make it your goal. Yes, go. You should have a great time if you get in. If you want any sort of normality in your social life, clubbing is the way to go. Oh and remember, don't be afraid to bust a move or two. As people have said, everyone will be drunk. Which means they won't remember that danced at all, and if they do, they will think your an awesome dancer.
Led-Zeppelin
Wait.. 17 is the drinking age? Yeah get into it mate, I don't think you'd have an awesome time not being drunk, being drunk at a dance party is just.. Awesome. Everyone is hot, and you magically become the best dancer in the joint. And your conversational skills are unmatched by anyone, and you also become even funnier then the likes of Chris Rock, Eddie Murphy and Dave Chappell.. Combined! Until the morning after, roll over in your bed, to discover.. I go into town all the time hitting the clubs n bars. It's real good aye, meet heaps of new people, make new friends. Foam parties are also very cool haha.
Bubsa
It's alright, but when you get split from your group (which can be for anything) you best have a place to go instead. QFT. And for that reason, never go clubbing with a girl. My mate had to go home the other day because the girl he was out with "Wasn't getting enough attention and the DJ wasn't interested in me". I swear, sometimes... This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
____
And for that reason, never go clubbing with a girl. My mate had to go home the other day because the girl he was out with "Wasn't getting enough attention and the DJ wasn't interested in me". I swear, sometimes...There's a bigger risk of being seperated at the door when you go with females. I've seen it happen so many times it's not funny. And also... you really have to watch what people get rejected for the first time you go out. Shoes are really popular, followed by pants. If you're short, and you're wearing 3/4 length - which do go down past your ankles - some [bleep] bouncer can still reject you for not wearing full length pants. Believe me that happens. Long pants, long sleved shirt - preferably, covers all bases - and go with formal shoes, or anything with no visible laces. And definately not boots which look like steel caps. So long as you look over 18 they usually don't care, however there will always be plenty of clubs who ask for id of everyone going through their doors. assassin_696
I'd say go, you might regret if you didn't and everyone is raving about how much fun it was, but if you don't then don't worry, you've got many years of clubbing ahead of you :) "Da mihi castitatem et continentam, sed noli modo"
Lateralus
My opinion is that anyone who can not be self concious and just dance will have an amazing time at a club. People who dislike it tend to be the people who stand in the dark corners drinking alone. La lune ne garde aucune rancune.
Mazpot
I had alot of preconceptions before I first went clubbing. I was mainly worried about getting stabbed or something but on the whole people are VERY friendly, Everything costs money dude, besides you're not going to score if you stay at home :P I attempted to launch a fart, only to have it get stuck between my cheeks. Zonorhc
I prefer going to pubs and boozing up. Then again, most of my friends are engineering or education students, so that makes sense. Capone_Sabre
I prefer going to pubs and boozing up. Yeah same. Never really been a fan of clubs myself. I would go a lot more often if I was single though, for obvious reasons. Capone Sabre since April 2001.99 Attack, Defence, Strength and Hitpoints Achieved January 2005. When it still meant something. Led-Zeppelin
Haha, good stuff, I can't beleive you got into a club without ID. :o The bouncers in Auckland are super anal, and won't let you through the door without ID or a very short skirt. Which in my case might get me beaten up. So definately need a fake. I've had Guiness before, it's bloody expensive over here, and it is definately an aquired taste. My choice in beers would be Crown Lager, Heinekn, Stella Atois, Steinlager Pure or Monteiths. I usually try not to mix what I'm drinking through the night, as it worsens the hang over in the morning. But if I'm going into town I try not to drink too much, just enough to make me feel great, but never off my face. As the likely hood of getting jumped increases greatly as you're alot more cheeky and people can tell if you're wasted. Happens alot.
hellbellz
Wow 17 in a bar? I'm surprised the bouncers didn't ask for your ID. :-k Well as long as you had a great time; it was worth it. I still have 7 more damn years to go. I have no idea why America has like, the highest drinking age. :x
Lageris89
Going in to town on a weekend can be fun. I used to go religiously, but not so much now. Most of the clubs in my town are just full of under age people anyway which is incredibly annoying.
Doom1200
Sadly, being 14, I can't get into any clubs where I live. Gotta be frickin' 21. Sounds like a helluva good time though. :
IGoddessI
I used to love clubbing from the ages of 18-19. I can't stand it anymore, I get so bored! You can't have an intelligent conversation with anyone! I don't like old men leaning over me, spraying their words, with soiled shirts from drink spillage, slurring and winking, swaying their way around the bar. Or the girls who wear the shortest skirt and shirt they can find on a 5 degree night, who flirt with these hideous bar monkeys and flash what they had for dinner, while contemplating dancing around a pole. Last time I went, I ended up face to face with my boyfriend, with a couple of drinks and philosophising, that was the highlight of my night, having someone interesting and intelligent to talk to and we left before it was even midnight. The two of us, being the only ones sane enough to wear something warm and went for a walk over the bridge under the stars and the moonlight, something drinking, hang overs and wasting money couldn't put a price on. That or I'm no fun but let's not hurt Mel's ego :P The only people who tell you that you can't do something are those who have already given up on their own dreams so feel the need to discourage yours. Zonorhc
Seriously, the amount of fun you could have when clubbing is nothing compared to the amount you will have trying to beat your Russian friends at drinking. kido14
Stage one, met my friend and went to our other friends house for a barbecue, there his dad gave us 2 shots of vodka each; All I can say is that I can't imagine doing it every weekend, maybe 3 times a year ;) but that might change, I recommend it to people to try it out, have good ID, and make sure your with friends who have been before and know what it's all like. Where is the legal drinking age where you live? If it's 21 like it is here, your friend's dad is incredibly irresponsible. As for that last comment, by "good ID" do you mean like a fake one that will fool the people checking ID's, or an actual legal one? If it's the former, then you're encouraging everyone to break the law? With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.
