Clubbing / Disco. <I went! Feedback.

This topic has changed from me asking for advice, to my description of the feeling of drinking alcohol and clubbing for the first time

Well on the 14th of July, I have been invited to a friends 17th birthday party which involves going to a club.

Well heres how it went, I thought to myself that I would try it all out to see if it was as good as they say.

Stage one, met my friend and went to our other friends house for a barbecue, there his dad gave us 2 shots of vodka each;

To describe the feeling:

The vodka was very warm, and a touch bitter but it wasn't as bad as i thought it would be... after a few seconds of taking it in you had the urge to eat something -.- which we did at the barbecue, then I got this warm feeling in my stomach, and my head felt lighter, became more confident and filled with energy, still was in total control though, started making funny jokes I think :P

We went to town to meet up with 4 other friends, and came to a bar to have some pints ( had to kill the time as well because clubs start at 11ish)

Well I thought I'd try the all famous Guinness to see what it was like as it has a high reputation.

First sip, was bitter and the texture was very thick, but i thought id down it since it cost me ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã3.50, at the end of it, it had more of an effect on me than vodka, gave me super confidence and I began to chat up the bar staff girls, and everyone suddenly became very pretty and friendly..

2nd pint was Clasburg or budwiser can't really remember, it had much nicer taste than the Guinness and had less effect, just again made me more friendly, there my walk was a bit different when we walked out, was a bit tipsy walking about the place...

By the time we tried to get into the first club I was sobering up, feeling calm.

Bad times: Only me and another friend got into our preferred club, the rest got IDed, some didn't have ID and the birthday boys ID wasn't good enough.

So we decided to get into another club, by this stage 2 of our friends left because they wanted to get into the first club... and it was 4 of us then.

Then we went on to other clubs but again we got IDed and didn't get in a lot of them, however we got into this medium sized one, but it wasn't really a club just a big bar, really crowded not really that nice, no one was dancing just standing and walking about...

I decided to order myself some alchoholic drinks I heard of on TV,

First was vodka+tonic: Felt a bit like sprite with lime, and a bit bitter, but it was nice overall.

Then vodka+coke: My favourite, tasted like coke, but with a twist that made you super happy :D well yeah it was nice.

Then we decided to leave that bar/club as there was no one our age and they weren't doing much.

We finally got into a proper one at about 00.30, it was so crowded, hardly any room to move =] but after a few more drinks room appeared and we all danced with some lovely girls ;)

Time flew by and it was 6am time to go, got a taxi to my place with 2 friends the other 2 went home.

Talk about falling asleep quick i just managed to lay my head down on the pillow when i was deep asleep, woke up 10 hours later feeling like i slept for 30min..

Now I feel fine, bit tired, had the music ring in my ears though for couple of hours even after waking up.

All I can say is that I can't imagine doing it every weekend, maybe 3 times a year ;) but that might change, I recommend it to people to try it out, have good ID, and make sure your with friends who have been before and know what it's all like.

A friend to all is a friend to none.

You gotta go sometime I guess. I'm 17 and I've never actually been clubbing, or to a party really. I don't see the point in getting wasted like that - I kinda like remembering what I get up to on the night before. ::'

Just one point though - would it really be right to "get lucky" on drunken girls who don't really know what they're doing? I know lots of people do that, I usually find these people seedy and greasy...

I first went when 15 - although it seems a lot stricter now.

You'll love it, mate. I've been on an alcohol hiatus (medical induced) for about 12 months now, but still go whenever I can. The banter's brilliant, the talent can sometimes be brilliant and most of all, it's a great get together with mates.

You'll have lots of nervouse energy the first time and so on as long as you're under age - I miss that. Seriously. Getting in when you're like "Hoh yeah! I'm really 15" is awesome, makes it even better :) But it's fun now nevertheless.

Don't try and act all cool and suave, just have a good time, let your hair down, so to speak. Who cares if you do something embarrassing, chances are you'll never see 90% of the club again...except maybe the bouncers :P

Trust me, once you go once, you'll want to go back, so, spending money on clubbing clothes aint that bad, just wear them next time!

What kind of clubs you going to? Hope you have a good time! :D

I don't really like clubs but they are the best place for meeting girls. I prefer going to quiet bars and pubs like an old man.

Woah woah woah sweet child of mine! How wrong can you be?! :o

She might look nice in the club, but the next morning? Yeowza! Help!

She might sound sweet and innocent but she's after your wallet/jeans/head! Goodness!

She might be an 18 year old girl, but the...

You get the idea. Clubs can be very, very deceiving.

Plus clubs have ninjas lurking in every corner.

I really wouldn't call it an era. It was more of a definitive time period during which dinstinctive characteristics were expressed in similar ways.

depends where you are going, if it's a large club in a city then you need passport ID or driver licence in most cases. if its just a small town club then you're probably alright. your friends are 17 too? they're in the same situation i guess. but go, its fun doesn't matter if you dont like disco or club music you like it when you are there haha.

With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.

One of my philosophies is to live life with the purpose of making memories. You know whatever happens it will be a good experience for you, and a good memory. It's your first time going, so better learn now than later. That way you'll be more at ease your next time - everyone has to have a first.

I wouldn't, I don't see what the common people do in a club, seriously, what's the fun in moving yourself like an undead with some strident music while your friends are drunk and can't even get up while girls start to rob their wallets?

And if the guards of the entrance discovers that you're underage, it'll be shameful for you, if you got lucky the people of the town will stop calling you baby-disco after 7 years.

However, is your decition, perhaps your parents can give you osme advice, who knows? After all, many of our parents did incredible crazy things when they had our age...

Next time go to the bowling instead!

Loud music, wierd people. Flashing lights, drunk people, etc. etc. etc.

Turn your volume up and that's runescape for ya.

Your name is "bet you fail", and you're starting a business with your mom? I'm not even going to touch that.....

Dude you should totally go, although it depends if they I.D you, you are screwed because im 18 in less than one month and the bastards dont let me in yet :wall: (I can get into pubs/bars etc but by midnight i have to go home while everybody else goes to the nightclub). But yes you meet new people and let me tell you, girls are so easy, even for someone like me that has very little experience of women can score hotties with alcohol.

You might feel a little worried but you should go and you won't regret it (hopefully).

go if you want, don't go if you don't ...... I think this is quite a useless question to post on a forum of people who aren't effected by your decision nor know anything about you. Its like should I wear green or white shirt today .... hmmmmmmmmm

Ok done with the flame. My answer is go if you want, don't go if you don't. Don't worry about the money, its the guys birthday, you will always get money again.

I wouldn't go out with someone I met at a nightclub. There's just so many pillocks at them it's untrue.

I'd go, but only as long as you have a way to get home easily if you don't get in. Dont wanna be walking round at night on your own :x

He basically answered my opinion. I dont really see the entertainment in dancing around a bunch of freaks who like to get bladdered, while burning your eyes out on the flashing lights :wall:

You've been just at wrong places then, bet there's places with less flashy lights, not TOO loud music (so you actually can talk) and who cares about drunk people when you can drink too? :P

She might look nice in the club, but the next morning? Yeowza!

Lesson number one: never take her to your place. If she got her own place, she most likely isn't underaged. Also if she turns out to be a wolf/manatee/Michael Jackson/Hohto at the morning, you can just sneak out.

She might sound sweet and innocent but she's after your wallet/jeans/head!

Pretty much 95% of the women are painful for your wallet. If someone here admits she isn't, gimme a hey :-w

Liking that siggy too

Depends which kind of club you to really. I mean, not all of them are full of hypnotised raving drunks with dance music and the bass cranked to the max. You get all sorts of clubs... some don't even serve alcohol, just coke and Red Bull and that, and actually only allow under 18s (over 14s) in.

My God...I don't know what clubs some of you have been to, either that or you're completely ignorant, but not everything is all doom and gloom.

Jesus H Christ, lighten up, people.

I'd go with completely ignorant. I'd bet the majority of people who put down clubs for being noisy, a headache, too many stupid people, etc are just saying that in compensation that they've never been to one.
