July 8, 200718 yr F2P was a great way to learn the basics of the game. Of course, the entire game is just clicking on various objects to train a page full of stats so that you unlock other abilities to do other stuff. I don't look down upon the people who are in F2P for good reason; I was one of them once. The reason why I decided to sign up for P2P was because I felt I was running out of things to do. Plus, P2P offered many other places to train the various F2P skills and I didn't need to compete with the autoers, nor fill up my ignore list with people who are incapable of having a meaningful conversation that involves the latest pop music idol. Plus, there were quests and I live for quests and it feels good to be a lvl-87 with a Quest Cape. I'll stop now because I'm starting to ramble on about nothing in particular. [hide=No Noobs Please]There are "noobs" and there are "newbs". Everybody was a "newb" before they learned all of the wonderful things about the game. Then there are the "noobs" who are out there the sour, not ruin, just sour the game atmosphere.[/hide] Knowledge is Power; a Tip.it guide answers many commonly asked questions.~Celestrana: Making of a Hero ~ (Visit my blog, today!)
July 8, 200718 yr I think you make some good points. The simplicity of f2p is one aspect that I have always loved. I have to disagree with you about the fishers being nice as every time I go to fish in Karamja I basically have 2 options. 1. Get a headache from all the spam. 2. Turn public chat off. Which is not something I like to do. But basically I agree with most of the other things you've said. July 8, 200718 yr i like to come at them with a d long so they go OMFG WTH IS THAT!?!?!?!? cause most of them dont know members stuff dont work in f2p lol :wall: I think that throws out the argument that noobs are just f2p. Overall members is better because they have to pay for it each month personally I dont find the game worth it because I am still not completely bored with f2p. If you actually play in the "new f2p"(it has changed quite a bit since when I started playing) you get used to such things as beggers, autos and some of the other valid things you spoke of, even though ussually moderately-extremely exagerated. Some members like to exagerate the truth about f2p for their own personal reasons: To assure themselves it is worth it, to just try and make members seem better than it is or some other reason I cant wrap my head around. F2p is a simple game that I enjoy, yes members is better because you can have the best of both any time you wish. On a side noteI have to say f2p pking is much more fun because it is relatively cheap and is alot less complicated.
July 8, 200718 yr its better for somepeople because they fit in everyone follows me around asking me where i got my scythe (and of course i say walmart because you can find everythingt there) then when i dont give them all my cash and items they call me a noob ;O
July 8, 200718 yr I must say that I agree with you. Espacially the third of yours has made me not going members for all this time I have been playing RS. Because RS is about having fun \ . How is it more fun being restricted to less lvls, map, areas, monsters, and quests, armor, weapons, items. I don't see how you guys can think that f2p is more fun than p2p. As for me after lvl 70 in f2p it all goes to hell and that's the reason I got p2p at lvl 79 because every lvl after 70 just gets worse and I rejoiced when I got p2p. Personally I really can't see this topic from your point of view because your point of view is [cabbage]. [blingkachi50]
July 8, 200718 yr Just to be sure, is everyone aware that the author of the thread is a member, like he just said a few posts back? Its surprising how many folks hate f2p to the extent that they cant see any member feeling a little love for it... But hey, im f2p myself, i have no place in this thread. And by the way, would it be too hard to say "MOST in f2p are noobs/scammers/autoers/pures/watever else u think" and not "ALL of them are so-and-so"? Not all of us bothered to become mems ya know... Life is a joke. Yeah, I don't get it either.
July 8, 200718 yr "MOST in f2p are noobs/scammers/autoers/pures/watever else u think" and not "ALL of them are so-and-so"?Even that would not be entirely accurate as the MAJORITY is not any of those things. July 8, 200718 yr Hmm, i think being f2p for "lyphe" is turning into the new "i played rsc therefore im super cool". Hey, hey, hey! Don't go hate bashing RSC, it was more of a game then RS2 will ever be. Go read up on the topic: What's so darn good about RSC? You'll realise that the community was about 100 times better on F2p. That was when F2p was an alright place to be and members wasn't really anything "Special" <- my response to that post. Members is f2p with more stuff. End of discussion. The nostalgia is keeping people in f2p.
July 8, 200718 yr Almost 4 years of f2p and I really want members, the only thing that keeps me palying is probably the OoC, my friends, and my rares.
July 8, 200718 yr From the looks of your highscores, it doesn't look like you've ever been a member. Why judge something when you havn't even tried it? If you are referring to me then, I'm sorry, you are a moron.... I think he was reffering to you but he's not a moron. He simply missed the slayer lvl 35 part.... [EDIT] and the theiving and the fletching parts as well... :D
July 8, 200718 yr QUIT Flaming this guy he has a solid point and you can flame me all you want plz do i don't realy care :) I can actually see where the topic starter's coming from. In truth, more and more of my friends are starting to treat this like either a full-time job, or some sort of addiction. Back when it was were you weren't paying for it/making the most out of every penny, there was no pressure, no rush for goals, no nothing - it was just a game. Too bad that feeling can't be ported over to Members. Kinda wish it could be though... I totaly agreee with you dude back in F2p we hung out with friends and did whatever we like now i feel like smithing has drawn me away from that people i started out with money has drover most of my friends mad after I told them some tips. Well my friend usually come to the Furnace and hang but it's different realy. Then the people in memebers are very rude when your not above lvl 90. I happen to be lvl 87 and got my items that i hold dear to me and to them i'm a noob a smithing noob a no lifer. The insults don't end there they get worse and sometimes they are full fledged cursing. I've seen this happen to many level 3's who arn't uber great skillers. Memeber think they are so dang elite because they pay 5 dollars a month but he dude ur not and even some of the F2p can totally open out and kill you members. Keep note that i am currently a member Well as i said that smithing has drawn me away from friends it's realy getting me mad hat they have to come visit me I always say i'm too busy smithing and such. Even though the cape is very kool it will nvr last through the power of friends. Also i Had 1 goal in F2p and that was to have full Zamorak Trim rune armour i still do have that set to this day and hold it very dearly but i never had the 99 smithing or any goal like that. I love smithing but I only played 2 hours a day now 10+ usually. Well it was just a game back in f2p but now it's a life choice realy. Half my friends are addicts/no lifers/ all nighter and they are fun but they are skill cape nuts. ALWAYS remember that Friends are stronger than that 99 skill because all that cape will get is a n00b bregade. Plz consider staying in F2p because members has SOOOO much preasure to get that first 99. July 8, 200718 yr To all the people who say there are so many scammers/baggers/etc. in F2p. Go to one of the Dutch world in the morning or just after school, go to cw, edge pking, falador, Varrock, etc. It's almost just as bad there. When everything's been said and done, more has been said than done. All skills 80+
July 8, 200718 yr 1. There are people EVERYWHERE you go. In member's I see people in banks and popular places. That̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s about it. (Before you even say it, I am aware that this is because the two types of worlds have the same people capacity but different volumes) --- In f2p like 50% of ppl are macroing :( 2. The people are cooler. I would rather fish lobsters in a non member karajama then have the convenience of Catherby. Random spamming anyone? --- Don't fish lobs!! Fish monkfish and ull ifnd plenty of high lvl ppl willing to chat with you. 3. It has less of a point! It's a game people, not a part time job. I'm not going to argue with people's opinions on whether or not it is fun to chop down virtual trees all day. My point is that the non members have an overall looser feel. ---Don't wc. That's boring. Go get urself lvl 126 combat (or 99 ranged) and some fast 99 skills instead :) You find f2p more interesting only because you are a newb (or noob?)
July 8, 200718 yr I have to say that I don't agree. I was a member for 2 years, and have now turned free to play, and there is literally nothing for me to do, other than skilling. I have done all the quests, completted security stronghold, got 10 loads of skull sceptre pieces, have entry to all the guilds, and compared to most of my friends, I am a bit of a noob. So therefore, I would much prefer to be members, where there are loads of quests, minigames, and fun monsters to kill, than be free to play. I mean, for example, I am 92 combat, and the highest level monster in free to play is the greater demon - lvl 92, and that only drops a rune full helm at best. Thanks to Quarra for the awesome sig!Xbox360 Gamertag = Tintin113
July 8, 200718 yr The advantages of f2p are...Oh wait I almost had one there for a sec. Nah tbh, catherby actually has a good community, and the members tend to be more speard apart, yes, but in f2p its generally all crap they talk. What i've noticed anyhow. Doomy edit: I like sheep
July 8, 200718 yr I would not enjoy being forced to go f2p, mainly because I'd had to drop so many items from the bank. and the f2p community isn't much better then p2p...at all.
July 8, 200718 yr God I cant STAND F2p. Want to know a few reasons? 1. I'm training firemaking in varrock using the street and making long lines from the center passed the bank. It annoys me greatly when there's others also training, lots of ashes, and not to mention I've been there for at least an hour and then someone has a great idea to make a fire, one single fire, in the middle of my lane. Is it REALLY that hard to walk to the side of the bank to do it? 2. "Can I buy your cape?" Does anyone else have this cape, have you seen this cape anywhere else on F2P, do you see this cape being sold? If you've answered No to any of these questions, then your answer is "No" you cannot buy my cape. 3. Person: Free Stuff Plesae Me: No Person: Please! Me: No Person: PLESAE PLEASE PLEASE PLESA Didn't you hear my the first time? *adds to ignore* 4. Improper grammar. This would include (not limited to, as it includes many others): "Wazzup" "H3y wats up" "Can I plz hav ur cape?" "Wer can I lern to play runscap?" (Check the knoledge base, it's right next to your dicitonary) "Wat is dat ur wearing?" "Min lvl?" "Wats your stealing lvl?" "Wat lvl is ur armor making lvl?" "Wat r u smiting?" "phr33 st00f" 5. Complete nit-wits "Where's the bank?" "Am I in the bank?" "How do you bank?" 6. Beggars 7. Autoers, Autoers, Autoers, Default clothing, Autoers, gibberish for Names, Autoers, low levels in mining guild, low levels in the mining guild with gibberish names, low levels in the mining guild with gibberish names and default clothing, Autoers, 30+ people at one yew tree, Autoers, Autoers at every yew tree, Autoers. 8. Want-to-be player mods Person: Can I have your cape? Me: No Person: Lol! Reported Noob 9. 11 Year old kids thinking it's cool to swear Person: Omfg man this is so *** I just got ****** Person2: Wtf hapned? Person: It was ****ing *** totally got *** ****** Person2: just ****ing tell me! 10. 11 Year old kids making up weird combinations of letters and numbers to substitute swears (They're censored for a reason nit wits) 11. 11 Year old kids obsessed with the bodily function mainly that surrounds the bathroom. A.K.A. having names such as: Poopboy2000 Those are just a few off the top of my head. I can actually see where the topic starter's coming from. It's still just a game? I don't try to make the most out of every bite of food I eat because I paid for it. I don't make the most out of every inch I drive down the road because I paid for the gas in my car. I don't sleep in my car so I can savior every part of it because I paid for it. I paid for the game, I enjoy it, and I feel no pressure. People set goals to push themselves to succeed. People make goals to see how fast they can accomplish that goal. I tried going from 1-99 hunter in a month. As you can see I burnt myself out and never finished, but at least I tried. Honestly, I'm in an extremely pissy mood right now, and I'm going to tell you to grow up and take a look around you. You might now like it, you might disagree with other peoples ways. This is the way we want to live and the way we want to play our game. If you don't like it then you can just get up and leave. Quite frankly I'm sick and tired of people nit-picking and complaining about my life. I enjoy what I do and I have fun doing it, so why don't you keep your comments to yourself and just leave me (and everyone else) alone. If you can't have fun on members that's your problem not mine. Gosh I feel better. f2p = Full of noobs.... if you fit in there, you fit in Brutal.. but true Exactly. Lol. I'm F2P, for the record. My F2P Moneymaking Guide!Always gargle before a takeoff. July 8, 200718 yr To say that all F2pers can't: Work for themselves, free stuff please. Spell correctly, phre stuf plz. Work for themselves... I LIKE TO AUTO HAR HAR HAR. It really shows that yes, there are stupid people in Runescape just because they pay for it. You have all these in P2p, so thanks for thinking before you post. Sure, they might be easier to find in F2p, but that's because it's smaller.. and free. I manage just fine in F2p, and I honestly don't have people bug me to often, but when they do, it really isn't that hard to ignore them. |Msg me me in-game | IrreIephant| ^ capital i
July 8, 200718 yr I would not enjoy being forced to go f2p, mainly because I'd had to drop so many items from the bank. and the f2p community isn't much better then p2p...at all. yeah i agree, one of the reasons im scared to go back to f2p is the lack of bank space We can breath in space, they just don't want us to escape
July 8, 200718 yr At 126 there is nothing i can do in F2P, noone my level goes to the wildy. Kb Battousai Private Chat - ON
July 8, 200718 yr 1. There are people EVERYWHERE you go. In member's I see people in banks and popular places. That̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s about it. (Before you even say it, I am aware that this is because the two types of worlds have the same people capacity but different volumes) Yeah but, those people you see are 99% preteens with attitudes, scammers, with zero tolerance, they all break rules because theyre just on for a little bit each week, and are general unpleasant people - and beggars. Of course not all f2p'ers are like that, but the majority are. 2. The people are cooler. I would rather fish lobsters in a non member karajama then have the convenience of Catherby. Random spamming anyone? Catherby is basically the same as karamja in f2p. The fish guild is where the cool people are. I fished in karamja f2p one time when my gf didn't have membs, and i wanted to hurt people. bad. 3. It has less of a point! It's a game people, not a part time job. I'm not going to argue with people's opinions on whether or not it is fun to chop down virtual trees all day. My point is that the non members have an overall looser feel. IE: they don't care. Which is why you get the types of people i mentioned in point 1.
July 8, 200718 yr I would rather be a non member sometimes That̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s right, I think that in a lot of ways non-member's can be much more fun then members. I have outlined my reasons in an easy-to-follow list format. 1. There are people EVERYWHERE you go. In member's I see people in banks and popular places. That̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s about it. (Before you even say it, I am aware that this is because the two types of worlds have the same people capacity but different volumes) And everyone I see in F2P are idiots that annoy you just because your name is red to them. Also, you can't find a training spot that isn't crowded as hell. 2. The people are cooler. I would rather fish lobsters in a non member karajama then have the convenience of Catherby. Random spamming anyone? The people in Karamja are all idiots. It's just as bad as Catherby (less autoers though). I don't understand why you like that. 3. It has less of a point! It's a game people, not a part time job. I'm not going to argue with people's opinions on whether or not it is fun to chop down virtual trees all day. My point is that the non members have an overall looser feel. With all the variation in members and the limited possibilities in F2P I think that this argument makes no sence at all. Training something in F2P is almost always a lot slower and more boring because there is only 1 or 2 things to do. A looser feel? They're all idiots. No thanks. Don't flame me; I'm not saying that F2P is better than members. I just saying that F2P is better than members in some ways. F2P is a hellhole. Members is better than F2P in every way imo. f2p = Full of noobs.... if you fit in there, you fit in What that guy said^ Retired 2146 overall - 136 combat - 6 skillcapes Plus I think the whole teenage girl thing will end soon (hopefully), because my girlfriend is absolutely in love with him(she is 18), and im beginning to feel threatened by his [Justin Bieber] dashing looks.
