Enough with the puns, Jagex!

Featured Replies

The birds of RuneScape have been perched, sick as a parrot and grebe with envy over these graphical updates that have been higher in the pecking order. Well, now it's their tern; after all, "toucan play at that game".

That's right, those with eyes of a hawk will notice an upgrade to the plumage of our fowl friends. From the ducks and gulls to the more vicious terrorbirds and jubblies, there is plenty to gobble up.

So, swallow your pride and flock into game swiftly if you want a goosey gander at our eggs-ellent new bird update - there is certainly plenty to go cuckoo over.

The bird references in yesterday's update announcement (see above) have been bolded. There are 23 of them. That wouldn't be so bad if they weren't all crammed into one little article, making every other word ring of "bird". I'm not saying drop them altogether, just make them a little less uncommon, don't mash them into players' faces.

What do you guys think? Are the puns a little over-the-top? Not enough? Let us know!

perfect grammar is one thing, typing like a drugged monkey and enjoying it is another

AMEN!

Jagex has a wicked sense of humor (spelling is off today). Personally, I love the dark humor they have and alot of the jokes are pretty good. Considering all of them, or atleast most, are G-rated, they have done a good job. The puns, a little much but thats Jagex for ya!

Makes the game more interesting if the developers have a silly (and sometimes strange, but in a good way) side. ::'

I'd rather shudder at a dodgy joke than be bored to death by Jagex trying to hard to keep all the dialogue serious.

We changed the graphics on the birds of runescape today. They look more realistic.

That would be lame <.<

I find them cheesy, but funny anyway. Better than a boring Jagex.

No longer playing Runescape, I caught the WoW bug.

I think Jagex has an egg-cellent sense of humour! :P

Hey, a swift wit never hurt anybody ::'

Yeah...that made abvsolutely no sense.. :anxious:

catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream

I think Jagex has an egg-cellent sense of humour! :P

But seriously, jagex's humour>you. I will never forget when they updated the gen. store map symbol, and wrote in the news:

Please try and contain your excitement.

I fell off my chair.

Don't forget about the July BTS.

Some people might say that the graphical improvements planned this month are a bit quackers, especially when its ducks, birds and terrorbirds that receive the make-over tweetment. Be sure to pop down and coo at their shiny new plumage later this month.

I bet you haven't done the quest "A hand in the Sand", have you?

That's pretty clever to make that many of birds. Gets annoying after a while though :P

Quit RuneScape :)

I like the puns. After all, Jagex mods brood for a while to bring up all these lovely puns for us, we shouldn't ruffle our feathers and get all warm-blooded and emu over a few... I'll spare you.

Personally I think it adds a bit of humour to the site and cheers it up a bit, and I see no reason why anybody would be irritated by it.

O RIOLE.

We Brits pride ourselves on our sense of humour (yes, it is spelt HUMOUR, NOT HUMOR! WHO INVENTED THE LANGUAGE HUH? WE DID! SO SPELL IT OUR WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :ohnoes: thank you)

I like the way Jagex is using humour. So long as they don't use a joke machine next...
