London rocks, but Manchester is still the most livley place for culture, music and experience. Anyway, forget all the stereotypes that we live in towers and castles or in depressing streets with cobbled roads. Englands a beautiful country at places because of our history mainly, and it's a hell of a lot of fun!

With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.

Jk I'm american and I like tea :D my mom came from Pakistan, so she was raised under british school standards. inherited the Tea genes from her :x

I wouldn't think its that different besides the accents take a while to get used to. I tried playing around with a british accent for a day. got hard to stop talkin like a Brit #-o.

I went to canada recently and expected to see some kind of odd dr. seuss style town (sorry canadians, too many fantasy novels for me!). and since canada is the closest thing to the UK (I guess..) and its not very differnt from america, i guess its safe to assume you wont be overwhelmed by too many differences.

tip it would pay me $500.00 to keep my clothes ON :(
But then again, you fail to realize that 101% of the people in this universe hate you. Yes, humankind's hatred against you goes beyond mathematical possibilities.
That tears it. I'm starting an animal rebellion using my mind powers. Those PETA bastards will never see it coming until the porcupines are half way up their asses.

Apparently a lot of people say it. I own.

London is ok, but to be honest... there's not that many British people live there lol. Seriously, I recon half of the city centre population is foreign.

British cities and American cities are very similar anyway, so you won't have much trouble adjusting at all.

Britain as a country is pretty diverse though, and the futher north you travel, the more you will notice this. The accents change (to the point where you may have problems understanding what's being said, especially in Merseyside, Newcastle and Glasgow).

You may find there is less space, ie gardenwise and stuff since there is so much more land in the US. That's all I can think of really. :wall:

Manchester is still the most livley place for culture, music and experience.
Ignore that. :P

Also start getting into 'soccer' (but call it football!) and other British sports such as Rugby league, Rugby Union and Cricket.

Ignore the guy going on about tea, it isn't drank that much, although a cup of the is the solution to most of lives problems :P

And left side of the road

Pretty much the same.

What exactly do you want to know about?

anything and everything... i move there in a few weeks

You really won't notice that many differences. Especially with people your age (gee, I feel old saying that). Most of them use intonation at the end of every sentence like they are on MTV anyway.

Don't drink Red Bull unless you like licking copper pipes. Try not to mention soccer. Don't even try to drink tea and get out of London as often as you can.

Oh and if you go into the Non-English areas of London (which is most of it), pretend you're Canadian.

my mum finally after 8 years(im 15 now) is letting me move from indiana to my uncle in london and i was wondering if some peopole from the uk can tel me what its like. so i know what to expect

One small thing of advice, when you ate a large dinner and your stomach if feeling full, never say, oh man, I am stuffed. I am sure you will get quite a few odd looks.

1 thing about england that has always puzzled me:

How this great nation with such a glories history (Shakespeare, the industrial revulation, The Smiths) didn't manage to come up with some descent food!!!!

Been there twice and the only time i ate a descent meal there was at an indian resturant.

I mean, look at the Portugal,Spain,French,Italy and look at England...

(BTW: That also applies to their football team  )

Another thing is the Bars closing time during the week (20::00?)

Anyway, London is still a gr8 place to visit

I would also love to visit Manchester

England is great. The people however, are not.
Mmm I always thought thats what people said about America/Americans.

London is ok. Its a busling city with lots of things to do etc but I will always be fond of the west country. Somerset is the best place to live in the whole of the UK and the home of cider ^_^

Well for one they can't even win the sports which they established, particularly against dominant sporting countries such as Australia. :P
