theres only one way to get one. You start at lvl 3, and do slayer till your att, def, and str are 70. Then you cannon untill 99. You then train att, str, and def until your slayer hits 99. You have to do that, or your hp will hit 99 before slayer. This works because a cannon give half the hp and ranged xp of usual training.

lederhosen hat is the best ftw

i couldnt agree more

Woot! Got total lvl 900 in f2p!

+1 lederhosen hat <3: ftw that or cabbage

But seriously, I will kill you all

I am back for realz this time I promise now that I am a member :p

Christmas Cracker, as said before, because it's worth the most GP in the game.

egamer"]psh gp is the most important without it you couldnt have any other item in the game

+1. With this you can buy multiple party crackers

Gp: With 16million of it you can buy 2 christmas crackers

Christmas cracker: With one of it you can buy 800,000,000 gps

Now tell me which one is the better item. (And dont say gp because it can buy more than one cracker. That would take 800million gp. And then you would have to compare it to 800million crackers, which is then worth 640,000,000,000,000,000 gp, or 640 quadrillion gp. (and then if you had 640,000,000,000,000,000 crackers, that would be 512,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 gp, or 512 octillion. So no matter how you look at it, a cracker is worth more than gp

A cabbage of course! 8-)

i dont see how full guthans is one of the most important items. banking isnt that hard... sure avoiding a 1 minute trip is convienient but there is life on runescape without guthans. you can even train without it  )ZMG!

Easily could. Just trade drops/raw materials gathered by yourself to drops/rawmaterials gathered by the others.

Haha yes, would've been awesome if they removed gp.

No, I really don't play anymore.

Sometimes what is best is not always so easily tangible. Out of four pages, I am surprised that "luck" has not been brought up once.

Luck determines if you happen to be behind that sorry fellow (lets call him hohto), while he is frantically running to the bank because he accidently attacked a poison scorpion (at low health of course), while carrying a christmas cracker he was going to go trade a friend. Of course he doesn't make it and you come out the richer.

I think the best item is MY partyhat, i worked for it and now it's mine. Nothing better than that.

The best item in the game is The Rubber Chicken by far.. :D and flippers ofcourse.. \:D/

Luck isn't something you can get or really own, it's nothing material unlike items. In this game we can create our own luck pretty well. The drop rates are equal for you, me and everyone else. In a short run someone can get many good drops while someone gets nothing, but the longer they keep going, the more balanced the drops are. If you prepare so badly that a random monster can kill you while you have something really valuable with you, it's not bad luck, it's bad preparation. I personally almost always wear a party hat while fishing, doing my farm run or doing random non-combat skills (during combat it's better to have a helmet tha actually helps) because I don't believe in bad luck. Ring of life will save if the worst scenario happens and the chances for me to get killed during tasks like that is minimal. However if the worst scenario happens, the only one I can blame is myself.

Luck or the lack of it is the magic word for lazy people. They can always hide behind it and get a an excuse why they aren't even trying. If you want to get something, you need to go for it. The words "bad luck" or "unlucky" are the weakest excuses why not to go for something you want or "want". Some might still remember how I got the first dark bow. They also tend to forget few things: I was actually the one of the first ones ever to kill them after the update, the drop rate is same for everyone and I've also killed countless other monsters without a good drop. I could immediately show a drop chart of 1000+ iron dragons and the bad history with dragon drops.

The scythe is the best item in the game. It's the only item that gets level 80+ people following you around asking how to get it. XD

Hohto -

̢̮â¬Å¡ÃâùWhat is luck to you then Hohto? Luck is only a certain set of events or circumstances that will either work for or against somebody, plain and simply. It is not divine intervention or the hand of a god...only how things unfold.

If by some small chance you would get killed while fishing with your phat on, sure you have yourself to blame but again, the events leading up to your death would be defined as your luck even though you were in complete control.

As that unlikely situation unfolds, a woman named Stacy who lives halfway across the world happens to be working outside and decides to go inside and log into RuneScape to see if her friend is online yet. To her surprise she sees your phat on the ground and has no clue how it got there. That decision on her end created her own good fortune.

I agree and disagree with your comment though about using luck as an easy way out. I was killing Steel and Iron dragons nonstop since the Draconic Visage update and the only reason I stopped was that Barbarian Training was introduced into the game and my attention was turned there instead, and I started killing Brutal Green Dragons to help with the drop list.

During that time at the metals I only got one high level item drop which was a dragon skirt. Now am I running around saying the reason is I just had bad luck? Of course not, but in this situation the outcome of the events did not favor me and by definition I had bad luck.

I DO agree with you though if somebody were to go kill 20 dragons and give up on that one fact alone (believing that they had bad luck). To me if you are going to give up on something because you think your luck is bad, then you were going to quit in the first place and just looking for an excuse which doesn't make you look bad.

"Why should I sit here wasting my time when I will just have bad luck"

Very lazy indeed. Speaking of lazy...

Luck isn't an item.

Taken straight from Merriam-Webster...an item is: an object of attention, concern, or interest

By definition of the word luck(̢̮â¬Å¡ÃâöÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâù), I think we can conclude that it is an object of attention and interest.

Before trying to be witty, make sure that you yourself first "come to terms with the mind bending concept" of what something is. Next time you post simply to get your post count up, take the extra five minutes involved to at least tell me WHY you don't think luck is an item.

Thanks on the point of view Hohto - it gave me something interesting to read this morning. To conclude I think we both agree that luck is not a force that plays a role in what you get or don't get, but quite simply only the events leading up to that point.

Oh, how could anybody here forget the little things like you being one of the first to obtain a dark bow...you remind us daily

Some people are saying party hats are the best item. What is really the best item in RS?

Rares = useless.

It has to be the whip.

Rares = useless.

It has to be the whip.

yellow party hat = ~100 whips. Useless? Not really. Yes, a rare item itself isn't good, but it has its price which makes it useful. With 1 party hat you can buy yourself almost any 99 skill you want, but with 1 whip you can't do much.

Oh, how could anybody here forget the little things like you being one of the first to obtain a dark bow...you remind us daily

I so often hear things about it when it comes to drops and luck :P

What...*cut*... bad.

Good point there. However is it luck or playing by the odds? Basically everything has odds: drops, random events, etc. Now the question is, what do we count for luck and what for odds? In theory there are chances for duying with a rare to a random event and then someone logging in with perfect timing to pick up the rare.

Yes in normal speaking we use the word luck. I personally don't see it as an attribute or a gift of a person. It's more like randomly odds being on your side, not as a thing you would actually have.
