lets start with halloween-- my guesses are

 

 

 

green - 21-23 mill

 

red - 39 - 45 mill

 

blue - 25 - 28 mill

 

 

 

i have no idea about the party hats since the prices for them have become almost unattainable.....

and actually you can make millions by merchanting rares, because while merchanting whips and barrows armor the price can flucuate a anywhere form 50 - 200k a set / with rares prices and flucuat within 500k to a couple of million with party hats......

They usually go up a few mill and drop a lot. The past 2 halloweens it's been like that. The '05 one I got screwed over with 2 mask sets #-o. O well.

theyve been steady at low prices since october. all rares are unpredictable.

They go down if most people think they will go up. It does the opposite of what the majority of runescape thinks it will do.

Well Holiday items are going to tough for prices the could go to 100m of 100k...you never know

Mask prices always go down at halloween and santa's go down at xmas. This is because everyone buys them before thinking 'oh i'll sell this over the holiday because everyone will want it then' but it usually works out that everyone is thinking the same thing so you get loads of people trying to sell which pushes the prices down.

Oh well.... waits for the day when Jagex does an update where everyone is stuck in the deep wild with a rare on them.... Life is so peaceful 8-)

Problaby they will rise with a few millions, to then, after the holiday is over, fall again. But maybe not to the level they was on before...

Seems logical for them to rise in price during the holiday season due to demand...and fall when not so many people want them.

There is a group of 5-10 merchanters bumping the price of red masks up on the RSOF. I still pitty myself for selling it at 36.5 and then seeing it at 42M a few days after -.-

 

 

 

I think they will go to a max of 45M at wich people will actually be buying them but it's possible they fall again to 38-39M after, during or even before halloween.

Everybody tries to buy/sell around the holidays. That's why prices start going up and down, it's unpredictable which way it's going to go though, every year is different.

any other views on the subject, so far all im getting is ......they do the opposite of what people think there gonna do.....

they usually go up right before the holiday, and plummet on the holiday week, just cuz moist people think they go up, and infact fall flat.

 

 

 

but.. you never know, rares are unpredictable.. I bought my santa for 23m, then all of a sudden they are under 19m -.- i was, and still am pretty mad.

This is all speculation.

 

 

 

All I need to know is that over time, rare prices will increase, whatever happens inbetween those raises is nothing to me.

 

 

 

Who actually buys rares as short term investments with the way their market is anyway?

From my limited experience in the rares market I would say that they go up before the holiday because people think they will go up at the holiday. So, people rush to buy rares before the holiday they are associated with and on the holiday all the merchants try to sell making the price drop. Then the price stabalizes after the holiday.

 

Ex:

 

Month Before halloween - 20M

 

Week Before halloween - 25M

 

Halloween - 22M

 

After Halloween - 23M

 

These are all just made up numbers created to try to explain my hypothasis.

Prices are going to go up and drop down again but this time at a higher cost. probably??? #-o
