Why Do you Play Runescape?

Just wondering but, from what i've seen between me and my friends sometimes we play constantly for a couple months and then we get bored and quit for a while. I think the reason why i play runescape is because i like the idea of accomplishing something that i can brag about to friends and so. And to spend my evenings training on mossies or something.

Got a crappy computer so I can't play the better games, plus can't be bothered to buy a new one. And RS in my opinion is the best MMORPG that I can play on my comp.

Though if my main gets hacked or banned for some reason, I'll get a new comp and play WoW. :-w

No longer playing Runescape, I caught the WoW bug.

Two things about runescape appeal to me:

- I like accumilating experience and levels that I can't lose because I forgot to save.

- I love looking back and amazing myself at my accomplishments. Perfect examples are, I runcrafted 100k nats!! omg thats amazing, I reached 70 agility, how did I ever do it!!

Why do you do anything? Half the time its because you want to, and half the time is because someone told you too. No one told me to play, so it must be the other answer. :P

well the main difference between runescape and all the other MMORPGs is that runescape offers the widest range of activities for you to do...i mean for most other MMORPGs like granado espada, maple story, WOW et cetera fighting is just about the only thing u can do...okie well maybe questing (which most probably involves some sort of fighting as well tbh :-w ) so it gets pretty boring after a while. but on runescape if u get bored of combat there are a hundred and one other things u can do...not to mention all the mini games \' and the quests are pretty interesting and updated quite often :)

maxed out melee on 10/10/08, current goal: 94/99 cooking

life may be unfair, but why can't it be unfair in my favor?

my fake plant died because i forgot to pretend to water it

I don't really play rs very often at all anymore. When I do play it's because I find it fun (unfortunately most of that fun is draining from the game for me, i guess that justh appens over time). It has a great variety of things to do in game, if you get bored of something you can just switch to something else, and because it is so big, there's alot to do before you're bored of the whole game. ;)

Hmm. And yet, the tradeskills in Runescape tend to become incredibly tedious over time.

World of Warcraft also has a variety of things you can do, and yes, there are mini games. (Darkmoon Faire, the Chess event in Karazhan) The fighting's not boring at all, especially when you go dungeon crawling. What gets boring is (As in Runescape) trade skills, and (Not in Runescape) reputation grinds.

I started playing runescape as a way to talk to friends when I coulden't see them at night. Then we had our fights and eventually drifted apart. Now I play runescape because I got addicted while I used to play it for friends.

I play Runescape when i have nothing better to do, i enjoy accomplishing targets that i set for myself so to me its a good use of time. :D

P2P offers more and better ways of making money than f2p. That's one of the cons you just have to play with if you don't feel like having 1 bigmac meal less per month.

I don't want to sound mocking or anything, but runescape is a game, and like other games, we play it because it is fun. I tihnk the real question is, why do you play runescape over other computer/video games. My answer to that, is the great community, and almost limitless content and achievements to be had.
