Privacy, and Problems

Featured Replies

Well, lately I've been thinking, I don't go to a school camp because we have to shower near people... BIG problem for me... Is it for any of you peoples?

Also, I have a problem with public toilets, since when I was 6 I went to the toilet at school, and the cubicals* are about 5"9, and well, you get the point...

Does anyone here have any problems about this sort of stuff? Although the toilet mishap hasn't happened since, I am still a bit concious about it...

P.S. First post in over 2 weeks. >.>

I dont need a siggy no moar.

Interesting, we just had a topic about peeing in public restrooms. Mods didn't like it too much. This is much more broad, probably will be OK.

Yeah, I don't care for doing anything like that in public. I know it's a natural part of human nature that everyone does, still it's weird.

I've been to so many things like camps where the showers are public. . . you get used to it, though it is nice to have privacy. But when privacy is not possible, I deal.

I'm a rugby player, so I shower in the nuddy with satrange men every week.

There's one way to look at it, if you go in there, like everyone else - what makes you any different? If someone went out of their way to comment on you, who will people view as strange?

Never had to do this. Privacy is generally not a problem where i live as everyone seems to get the right to it.

Plus we don't shower in school after gym.

I've never had to to open public showers. Probably will have to soon.

The funny thing about toilets is the "bath tubs" you go wiz in at a Redwings Game :P No detail =; Men's room just incase you were pondering :uhh:

Happy to find I'm not the only one who eats glass.

Played football for four years. Have no problem showering in a room full of other guys. Its something you just get used to. The first day of 7th grade football was awkward for everyone. Then as the year went on, it got better and better. By the next year, no one gave a hoot and was walking around towelless. You just have to get used to it. As for toilets, I never use nasty ones, but if its decently clean, just squat instead of sitting down on it.

Publiic toilets don't bother me much so long as the guy next to me isn't wierd and checking me out.. And I'm not a big fan of the 'trough' instead of individual urinals.. As for showering, I've never showered with other people. If a girl wanted to shower with me, I'd be naked i na heartbeat but I'm not a big fan of being naked around other guys. We have showers in our locker room and after gym there are tons of guys running around naked.. But I'm not one of them and I won't be until I have to shower for things like wrestling or football..

If a girl wanted to shower with me, I'd be naked i na heartbeat...

I have my own issues with showering with other guys too. I just save my stinky self for a shower at home after Rugby. Or the weight room.

Well, the low five wasent indicated to you. Sorry if i seemed it phrase it that way.

I remember the troughs at the Indy 500 back in the day. They were up kind of high and I was short then (when I was 8-9) so I almost didn't reach. They were nasty too, just generic water troughs you would use in a barn for horses or cows or something. That might have been the moment when I decided I didn't like public bathrooms.

I have no concern for public restrooms or showers. There are rules for men in such situations, which is to keep your eyes on your own business.

In the shower situation, just buck up and be confident. Chances are nobody is going to be looking directly at you. Don't be afraid to catch a glimpse of someone, because they don't have anything you don't.

As for public troughs, eyes forward lads!

That was hard at Indy. Not for me, but for all the completely wasted people. At least they were in the bathroom I guess, better than the ones that were just going in the mud. Still they would sometimes have trouble standing up if they were waiting in line behind you and it could get kind of embarrassing.

It's interesting to see that this is mostly a cultural thing. Around here, school gym classes involves showering togheter with the other boys (or girls) from like, whenever you're young enough to actually have physical ed in school. And that continues well up to 18ish years of age in schools. Heck, swimming houses with showers still work that way, as do the sauna's.

I don't have problems with showering/'toiletting' in public. Look at it like this, if you're in a team and are scared to shower with them, you will certainly be more weird then when you just shower with them. It's nothing to be ashamed about.

As for public toilets, I don't really like them but hey, if it's needed then it's needed.

I always use a stall if any possible.

For showers.. i didn't like that when i was younger, but i don't really care anymore. In Capoeira training we even had mixed showers. Nude people of both genders hopping around felt more natural to me then just guys. I felt wierd though when i did jazz dance and i was the only guy in a dressing room full of women. Thankfully i got a place to change for my own pretty soon.

Never been to Glastonbury festival eh? One you been there you'll be happy peeing anywhere :P

I used to enjoy showering with fellow males but one day I dropped the soap and...well...you know the rest.

Dont drop teh soap!

The only problem I have with public toilets is that almost every time I use one in Edinburgh there's a strange noise of people 'blowing their nose'....

At the gym the showers have no doors, when it's full you have to shower opposite someone. You get used to it.

With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.

Well when you have to shower in one big room, wear swimming shorts -.- I remember walking into a room to shower and one guy had his foot on one of the benches as if trying to tie his shoe laces..use your imagination

It's funny, i've played sport at school pretty much all my life but i've never showered naked with a bunch of guys, the school policy is we all wear our swimming trunks. I guess it's because at a younger age a teacher is often in the changing room to supervise, and it's probably easier for them, but it'd be weird I guess to start now. To be honest I probably wouldn't care, but I wouldn't really do it unless I had to.

As for the gym, there are individual cubicles, so again never had that problem.
