Kashi
Being scared is the BEST PART! of a movie! What's the point otherwise? hmm, i actually like being able to sleep without nightmares, thank you very much :D Are you KIDDING me? I live for nightmares! They get your adrenaline flowing, it's better than cocaine. I assume. I've never done cocaine, but I'd say it's better than cocaine. My greatest ambition is to kill every member of the human race. However I am a realist and therefore know that I probably wont be able to.

Nadril
Watch some of the really crappy but hilariously funny horror films. I have a hard time going into a horror film now without thinking its going to be really cheesy. Also just prep yourself up for whats going to happen. If you know it'll happen it won't scare you. And, trust me, most films are pretty easy to predict.

InkofDeath
Dude. You get nightmares from "scary" movies? :| I get nightmares from the Teletubbies, and Dora The Explorer. I was scared of horror movies when I was 11, when I turned 13, I said enough is enough, and I watched horror movies non-stop on google, until I could somewhat predict what would happen, or I just started laughing at the things that were meant to be scary. :-#
Kill_Life
Watch 'the making off' a scary movie. Then you'll see how fake it all is, hopefully, this will make it better. Or watch one with some friends :) "A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do"[Currently playing: K1ll L1f3]
assassin_696
As bad as they are, watch all the Scary Movie films, they've parodied a lot of the big scary films, and watching The Ring after seeing it parodied on Scary Movie I actually found myself chuckling along to various bits. Try and see the amusing side of them. Watch plenty, early in the day, in a brightly lit room, with lots of breaks for drinks and stuff. Just try and force yourself to realise that you are completely detached from what you're watching. I never used to be a fan of scary films, until some friends forced me to watch some which I'd heard were pretty bad. Sure, they got the adrenaline going, they'd be boring if they didn't, but they were good and didn't scar or anything. ____
Whoever suggested doing a marathon of horror movies is on the ball. No better way to fix the problem of being scared than to numb yourself to a genre.

No better way to fix the problem of being scared than to numb yourself to a genre. Yeah besides watching something pathetic in terms of horror like Scary Movie(s) I hadn't really watched any horror movies to a couple of years ago. Then I just skipped to the chase and went and watched Saw 2 and 3 and got over any scariness quickly. I think confronting your problem regularly is the best solution.

tomdavies90
Just remember that its fictional (not real). That usually works for me. The only time i really get scared is when people are walking through a hallway and some hideous grotesque monster jumps out and goes BREAAAAAAARGHHHHHH!! But hey, thats human nature. We all get scared sometimes. Uh, ya  What scares me isn't the blood, fighting and stuff, it's the suspense(like, oh, what's gonna happen next, is he gonna die?) Hint: Harry Potter doesn't die. If you're that scared of the suspense ask people what happens in the movie, like who dies, that way if someone gets into a bad situation you know they'll get out of it ok. Sig by me.... The Observer
[hide] RAWR!![/hide] :P Seriously, I would just look at scary things and research into them. They won't become scary anymore. Try it. That's what I do. Or.. try to make the scene funny in your head. Like making that picture above into this: [hide][/hide]
