Does your school have any week trips?

Featured Replies

My school does, next...err monday I go to Vancouver from Calgary on a marine biology trip for a week, were on a boat and it seems pretty big, and surprisingly im not nervous at all. (mind you, if your father has a yacht its not that hard getting comfortable) anyways, were going to ganges harbor and places around there. the only bad part is 12 hr bus trip omgwtfbbq

Nope.

But you have fun at yours. Ooooh, a 12 hours bus trip. Sounds exciting. Have fun on the boat too. Wow.

My school has retreats and im going on the junior retreat this year which is 3 days long so it should be fun. It was almost cancelled this year because last year a teacher and some students were playing nutball and got caught. Fun times.

not unless you count retreats for my youth group.

I actually went on a trip like that in 7th grade except since we were in Florida we went to Sea Camp (http://seacamp.org/). The bus ride we had to take was pretty crazy but we stopped in the everglades for like an hour or two. We left at midnight and got to sea camp at like 6pm. You've never lived until you've taken turns sleeping on the floor of a bus.

Anyway, about the actual trip. Probably the best experience of my life. We went snorkeling on a reef, went out at night to look for stuff in the shallows and a ton of other random stuff. I could probably ramble on for a while but it was really fun and probably a big reason why I'm so interested in nature today.

That phrase also deserved a fullstop. :(

I've been on a few week long trips in my time. One was at intermediate, when I was 12. Went on a camp, was awesome, was the year I got retinal scarring though. Long story short, horribly ugly overweight girl was running back from the shower block to her cabin (WITH JUST A TOWEL!?) and slipped on the ramp up to the cabin, and the towel came flying off. I have since been seeing councellors. Eights years later, i still have the nightmares.

Next was when I was 15, was a Geo trip, went down to Mt. Tongariro, that was awesome. I went for a dip in spring in the river outside the cabin that comes off the glaciers off Mt. Ruapehu. That was a good time. Studying volcanoes.

The next was in my final year of school, when I was 17. Was also for Geo. Studying tourism, so we went down to the tourist mecha of Rotorua. Got to go down the Ludge, did all sorts down there, was awesome.

How you like them stories Gretel? :P

Happy to find I'm not the only one who eats glass.

My high school always goes to Rome in May of the fifth year. The entire year you have classes preparing you for it, and you have to give a presentation on a historical site for a grade.

in 10th grade we get to go on a summer vacation trip for about a month. our 8th grade band (the one im in) wants to go to France.

12 hours.. pfft.. i've been on week trips with the school to germany and to france. both of the journeys were about 18-20 hours each way.

Make sure you make the most of the trip. You only get to go on highschool holidays once in a lifetime after all.

Our school has trips to France for those doing French, Spain for those doing Spanish and another France for those doing History. Our school also does trips to Austria for skiing for the good students.

Not sure what my schools do. I know however of a non-school event by the French teachers that takes you through Europe. I believe they're headed to Italy and Greece this year.

An 12 hours is nothin really. If you got something to do it'll go buy alright. If you got your friends, it'll go faster. If you got the science nerd to build a flying-bus, it'll go even faster.
