October 2, 200718 yr I have real people analyzis of this update already but there is one key thing thye are missing. While now it is easier to buy whatever amount of runes you need from the shop at about the same price you have to realize you gold is being erased. This is just like the construction update but worse! People will begin to buy disposiable items from npcs, which lowers the amount of gold in the economy... EVERY AREA of the market will be hurt, prices will rise on everything because of this loss of currency. Another way to solve inflation...make rares harder to get... and make it harder for people to get rich
October 2, 200718 yr Wow... You just think about it and agree. It's a money drain as you're giving the money to the NPC never to see the light of day again. Smart. Not a lot could come up with this. :P "300 programmers make their futile but glorious last stand against 1000000 angry players in The battle of Misthalin. They fight for honor, glory and new content sacrificing themselves so that their game may live on. This is Madness! This Is JAGEEEX!"
October 2, 200718 yr But you fail to realize there will be less shop trading, because you can probably get it cheaper on the player market, so I actually think there will be less money erased. Bots will also buy less runes, so there that's even more shop traffic, so even less money drained. When everything's been said and done, more has been said than done. All skills 80+
October 2, 200718 yr Author bolt racks however are not widely used... only among pkers..barrowers...and dkers so there is not as big a market as runes/arrows/secondaries/and such its some intermediate economics...the us gov't and most other capitalistic gov't do this to make sure extreme scalping/merching does not go on

October 2, 200718 yr It's not so simple, some items seemingly now sell for more to the general store and items sell for the same price when you sell 50 at once. Point is if we're going to determine the effect this will have on the economy we're going to have to do a lot more thinking. My Blog To 87 Construction
October 2, 200718 yr I think this will lower the prices. If people can not sell things they will lower their prices, and so will everyone around them. It is not like the sit around the table in some guys house saying "ok for the next 2 weeks a Blue P hat will be 20m, then we will drop it to 15.8m." No they go for the lowest price. Ponies!

Another way to solve inflation...make rares harder to get... and make it harder for people to get rich Is that a typo, or do you simply not understand economics? :-s Edit: someone else has already beat me to pointing it out. Prices will fall if each player has less disposable income. However as another poster has already pointed out players will more likely buy skilled items from players who will be under-cutting shops. For example now that the infinite stock of Air Runes is now set at 17gp each, Air crafters will have to Airs for at the most 16gp each.
October 2, 200718 yr In today's rs economy, with billions being brought in every day from high alchemy, a money drain like this is something that was really needed, not something bad.
October 2, 200718 yr The whole point of the price fixes is shop prices is now greater than street price. This means markets such as runecrafting barrows etc do not suffer loses as they can still offer same price and it will be cheaper than store. The only big impact is if you WANT an item fast the store WILL have stock And now you CANT buy cheap runes etc from store to sell for profit. All in all no major economical effects, beyond the destruction of shop auto-buyers and the whole water filled vial market will suffer as well. The fact shops take gold out of the system is neither here nor there, that drain has always existed and under the current system shop purchasing isn't likely to increase that majorly Operation Gold Sparkles :: Chompy Kills :: Full Profound :: Champions :: Barbarian Notes :: Champions Tackle Box :: MA RewardsDragonkin Journals :: Ports Stories :: Elder Chronicles :: Boss Slayer :: Penance King :: Kal'gerion Titles :: Gold Statue

October 2, 200718 yr they made nats 372ea and laws like 370ea i mean your spose to make us NOT buy off macros thats bad, i liked buying laws @ rune stores cheaper then i could from players because i hate making laws.
October 2, 200718 yr they made nats 372ea and laws like 370ea i mean your spose to make us NOT buy off macros thats gay, i liked buying laws @ rune stores cheaper then i could from players because i hate making laws. Same here. In my nooby days I merchanted laws for a bit Wasnt really worth it though. OT: This money drain wasn't really needed. Lots of high equipment (Barrows, dragon) was already down in price. But it might help stabilize prices a bit Why do we bake cookies, but cook bacon? 99/99/80+ looking for monster hunting groupRS07: mb nb
October 2, 200718 yr The runes are overpriced for a reason. RuneCrafters will find that they will get more profits due to this shop update. Just buy them from players for a lower price.

People will begin to buy disposiable items from npcs, which lowers the amount of gold in the economy... EVERY AREA of the market will be hurt, prices will rise on everything because of this loss of currency. Another way to solve inflation...make rares harder to get... and make it harder for people to get rich Which stackable items were so important, that people actually are needed so much, that people buy them from stores for mass amounts instead of make by themselves? Exactly, runes and arrows which were cheaper than at streets. Look at the nature rune prices for example. Earlier it was worth it to auto nature runes as their market price was low enough. This meant that autobyers gave away their cash to get runes. Now that won't happen as nature runes are easy enough to produce by yourself; it's not worth it to buy for 373gp+ (assuming people auto them to gain profit from them, not to lose money or do zero profit) per. This means that less high level runes are bought from stores, thus less money goes out that way. Someone took bolt racks for an example. Seriously, how big demand there is for them? Exactly, really low. Barrowers can keep up with the supply and there most likely won't be any real need to buy big amounts of bolts from the store. You also pointed out a theory that money goes away from the game. I don't agree with this and above I stated few examples. People might now invest more on "cheap" stackables, but less on "expensive" ones, which means the current loss of cash isn't too big compared to the old. I don't really get it why people, even you, use the words inflation and deflation so much around rs. The prices of certain items go up due their demand rises and people are getting richer. However if there was a real inflation, raw materials such as ores, fish and so on would also get affected. For years they've been really stable. Personally I see this update as a thing that makes people to work more on stuff like RC (due autobyers can't affect to the supply of high lvl runes anymore in a way they did) and cause autoers to go on different things, such as essence mining. I'd rather die for what I believe in than live for anything else.Name Removed by Administrator ~Turtlefemm
October 2, 200718 yr All I have to say is thank God everything I merchant isn't sold by a shop. In fact I might profit from this if I am lucky.
October 2, 200718 yr More cash goes into RuneScape then what is ever going to be taken out, its has only slowed the process rather then caused any problems. So many more people will join more alching everyday, they needed to do something like this to counter balance it. - Twitter | RuneScape FB Group | My PC

Another way to solve inflation...make rares harder to get... and make it harder for people to get rich Is there 1 sentence in this post that makes sense? you hardly have an idea of what your saying. EVERY AREA in the market will rise up! Ok, now my way I am thinking, which makes a bit more sense Money drain, less goldpieces in Runescape --> ''High shop prices'' turn out to high --> People will go for the player-made-products, which can and will be sold for lower then shop prices. Even though it might just be 5%, it will still be a 5% saving, which adds up in the long shot. Now every production market will rise up! Wooohoo! The only thing that got nerfed was merchanting. Which is still quite possible, if you actually know what you are doing, instead of buying low / selling high. Facts is prices WILL RISE, but till certain heights. Truth is, the big money lies in skills now. So instead of bragging how you still made 50k of merchanting with the new update. Rather go mining / woodcutting / fletching, heck I don't care ;) do it! Use the higher prices in your advantage and produce.
