Guns, knifes and school violence

Every week you hear about some school shooting/scabbing or about a kid eho brought a weapon to school. At my school last year, over 6 people were stabbed/seriously injured. I know places where i can get a .44 or a 9mm for less than 50 dollars in my hood. I think they need to step up the law about that stuff.

Nowadays, though, the media actually reports MANY of the events that have occurred, resulting in mass pandemonium. Now, if the media was not so, I doubt that much of the public would know. However, as part of the schools, many of the students know what is going on, and it really ends up being a war that they must fight, in order to ensure peace. As such, the politicians these days aren't doing much to help, they only do something when the public pressures them, which won't happen unless the media reports it. The only way the media will discover the issue at hand is if someone contacts them. And to be blatantly honest, that person has to be someone from within the schools.

My school is almost violence free. There has been absolutally no fights (that I've heard of) this year which is pretty amazing for a high school.

sorry to be blunt but that's life. Through history people have been fighting/killing themselves all the time, doesn't make it right but its a fact of life.

sorry to be blunt but that's life. Through history people have been fighting/killing themselves all the time, doesn't make it right but its a fact of life.

We have a bouncer as one of our assistant principles. Ever since my school hired him, there's been no major fights. This guy is massive. Another thing, our school has a "No Tolerance" policy where you can get expelled for getting in a fight (even minor).

 

 

 

 

 

By the way, I go to the "best" school in Georgia (yeah, it's not saying much, but it's like an average school up north; fairly good), and my school is still semi-ghetto. If you go to inner Atlanta all I have to say is good luck, and I hope to see you graduate with all your appendages.

You can't really control this much except to have a better police force (the cops of today are pansies) and ban the sale of automatic guns. Why in the world would you need a AK-47? To 'protect' yourself? Bull. A semi-automatic pistol will do the same amount of damage.

Do you honestly believe that a small calibre pistol will do the same damage as an automatic weapon chambered for 7.62x39mm? Unless, of course, by that you meant getting a pistol chambered for .50AE, which, frankly, is not a weapon for self-defence, but for removing limbs. Pistols are used for self-defence partly because the majority of them don't deal as much damage as assault rifles.

 

 

 

And blame your constitution for giving people the right to bear arms. Some reason like fighting tyranny is what is given, I believe.

Statistically, most shots hit the torso, and in the situation you proposed (of self-defence), one would be aiming to wound rather than kill. A 9mm to the chest would hurt like hell, but likely wouldn't penetrate or even knock you on your backside. A 7.65mm wouldn't care that there's bone in the way.

 

 

 

Most people purchase assault rifles as a hobby or for hunting. The American gun owners I know wouldn't even use their assault weapons for self-defence, preferring instead their pistols. Even then, they stick to 9mm for practical reasons, rather than carrying .45, .42 or .50.

The 9mm bullet is the pistol right? If so, thats all that the Gun Stores should sell. Simple weapons for self-defence.

 

 

 

I'm not going into the hunting subject. I'm opposed to killing animals for sport, but I've heard different things on them such as controlling their population or actually using some sort of their body.

Agreed. Most teenagers that bring violence to school is because of a how bad an influence their parent's might've been, or how they were exposed to stuff they shouldn't have at such a young age :shame:

um i dont get how him mentioning the hood make you not take him seriously. It just implies that some of s live in rougher neighborhoods then other. On the subject though, gang violence is a part of life and people are trying to control it. But it will never be full controlled
