imran
Well IMO if u want cheap food that heals a decent amount and dont mind how long it takes to prepare the food. Tuna potatoes are for you! Tunas are cheap and potatoes are free :) . This is assuming that you dont mind taking the time to prepare them. If you do mind then i guess lobsters maybe. 9,190th to 99 WoodCutting - 10/11/0724,262nd to 99 Magic - 30/1/
Cryptogram
Practically and cost-wise, the best food in my humble is monkfish. Quick to catch, easy to cook and heals 16. I was using shark before this, but in a few hours you could have enough monks to last a couple of weeks even if you fight all the time. Tuna taters are great food, but do take a lot of time to prepare. I use them for questing, etc. Don't follow me. You might not make it.All your accounts are belong to us now.If this were a dictatorship, it'd be a heck of a lot easier, just so long as I'm the dictator
The Runar
If you want to buy from a shop, buy premade choc bombs from grand tree - they'll cost 160 each and will heal 15. Norton3000
If you want to buy from a shop, buy premade choc bombs from grand tree - they'll cost 160 each and will heal 15. Jagex nerfed those. They are around 400 ea now. I usually use monkfishes as they are easy to get and they heal decent amount of hp. Retired from RuneScape for as long as possible. IAm314159
If you're F2P, USE KEBABS! They completely rock! And they cost only 1 gp ea! Goobore
What is the cheapest, best training food...? I hope that you realize that you can train melee very quickly and use very little or no food at all. Lower level level monsters offer fast training (if you can get a steady supply of them) and give the added benefit of barely hurting you. You can train for many, many hours in the Sos (level 1 or 2) and need very little food. Many players seem to think that, as they level up, they must "move on" to higher level monsters. Now, if you want better loot, then that's the right thing to do. But, if you want fast exp, then you want to be constantly hitting something to earn the fast exp. Lower level monsters allow you to do that. Finally, many Trout/Salmon power fishers are happy to give away their fish just to be able to fish more efficiently. So, you may be able to get a lot of free fish next to the Barb village or Shilo. I usually give away hundreds of free, cooked fish every night whenever I power fish. (Trading is faster than dropping) Hope this helps
ChalieCokedIt
I'm training at bandits and probably going to fish my own monkfish. I was wondering though. How many would you catch an hr?

Dont tell everyone im in wildy! :-$ I second that. I've always used Trout and Salmon just because it's easy to catch and you'll never burn it past a certain low Cooking level (like 40-50). I've never been one to spend money on training food, so catching Salmon and Trout is easy and it heals a decent amount. Although, keep in mind I'm speaking from a F2P standpoint. Roberthree
Nature runes are the best training food. They're cheap, and they stack. 2 of them gives you a full load of free peaches. You do know that to be kebabs you need to talk to the kebab seller over and over and over again just to get 100(around 10 minutes)? Also kebabs are not a reliable training food. I would suggest; salmon, trout, monkfish, choclate cakes(buy from cooking companies on these forums), and pizzas(if you can find a seller). Monkfish is the food of the gods. 16 Health for 300gp? AWESOME. If you're planning to fish them, do Swan Song first. You can catch about 300 an hour. Good Luck!!! Doomster
For Training food, HP per GP or ease of obtaining is often more important than max healing, with "local produce" having a distinct advantage. My Stronghold of security rig always includes fishing kit, and I'd suggest firemaking as well, if you burn a lot, so you can cook at the fishing spot and replace the losses - otherwise the permanent fires at Peksa's or the hall can be used. HP per GP is a very bad way to look at any type of food. Shrimps are 1gp each and heal 3hp each. That is a ratio of 3:1. On the other hand, Sharks are 1000gp each and heal 20hp. This is a ratio of 1:50. You're looking for something that heals between 10 and 20 that doesn't burn a hole in your wallet. Lobsters vs. Monkfish Lobsters - 12 HP for 220 GP. Monkfish - 16 HP for 300 GP. GO MONKFISH!!!
