I don't actually tell people about it. I used to talk about it with my friends, who are the ones who introduced me to it in the first place, but they don't play it anymore and the last few times I talked to them about it I got the distinct feeling that I was irritating them. Beyond them, I don't see a need to tell anyone I play it. Most people are stuck on graphics and are too immature to give it a shot, so why bother?

 

 

 

And no, I can't afford WoW. I might give it a try when I get a job and a CC, but from playing the trial version for a week it didn't seem all that much more fun than RS. Just better graphics.

When you play RuneScape and people know, yet your a starting midfielder for your football (soccer) team and hockey goalie it causes some controversy :)

At my school they're acting the same They call you a nerd or something when you play rs, and not when you play WoW just because of better graphics?Man, they are the true geeks when they go tease you about computer games, because everyone can have THEIR opinion, but they must go: "omg you play rs lets tease him because the graphics are bad!"(this happened with some kid in my class :? ) I enjoy RS because of the community(aswell on TIF, although I look rather than post)But I don't play mindless for some pixels :) .

 

Well, everyone can tell me i'm wrong or something, idc, like I said before, everyone can have their own opinions :)

People outside of my shop (Computer Science) think its stupid and [cabbage]ty, but, in shop, we all love to play ^_^

Most people think of it as bad because of the graphics.

 

 

 

But there the most idiotic gamers around. Anyone who plays a game based on graphics, shouldn't be allowed to play games at all.

 

 

 

All graphics are, is a added bonus.

Real life -- no one cares if anyone plays Wow or runescape

 

In game -- I get treated like fishsticks from the toilet

I go to the same school as Skully so i don't know either

At my scool, wich inhabits 1200 college students, i'm not very sure about what game is the most popular one.

 

But appreentry it's not geeky to play Counterstrike. But it's geeky to play WoW and Runescape. I think it's the exact opposite.

 

 

 

(At the same time i'm called a geek because i know VERY much about the Swedish Armoured Forces)

Most people I associate with don't know about Runescape.

Weird. The pattern of where RS is deemed 'acceptable', 'nerdy', 'unacceptable', 'must-play' and various other titles seems to be slightly chaotic. :-k

 

 

 

I gotta agree that WoW players are the main driving force behind those who put down RS. But to be honest, I can't understand anybody who plays that kind of game which is so blatantly obviously orientated at the group known in some cultures as 'no-lifers'. I have never played WoW, and I have vowed that I never will. If you say I'm 'missing out', I really don't give a [insert insignificant object here]. You aren't the boss of me.

I don't tell people I play RS. It's bad enough being in the marching band.

Some people play runescape at my school, but they dont advertise it. \

people at my school think runescape is for losers, I'm not the type that would play it im more of the jock, football and basketball although i do well in school, taking mostly advanced classes for my age (freshman). So because runescape is looked upon as a nerdy game, which it is, I don't tell anyone I play and since no one suspects I would play it works fine.

I play WoW,Runescape, and several other games (I've tried all genres...besides those girly "barbie adventures").From what I've seen, each game player hates all other game players.It's normal, kind of like how the tribes of man used to argue, though they were pretty much the same.There's ALWAYS something to put down in any game.There hasn't been one flawless game yet.WoW has class balancing problems, a long leveling system,a 15 dollar a month price, and if you want new stuff you have to get a expansion.

Thats the general views of every three people. 2 hate it and one doesn't mind it deep down. (Doesn't mean they play though.)

I let it slip once in 7th grade that i play Runescape, and now I'm in 10th and about 20 people know I play (They told their friends, and one day i made the mistake of typing an average of 90 words per minute first day in computer class, friends got curious and asked my brother). If you play RS at my school, you're basically labeled a nerd, even by the people who have never played it, they just hear about its graphics and think its stupid.

At work I am told it sucks, but 7 of my 8 coworkers play WoW, but they respect my accomplishments, although they make jabs at parts of the game "Oh danny boy is raising his making fire level guys".

 

In college, No one really cares, of course its not a priority to tell them either, when they ask what I do, I say I play a mmorpg Online and they just say oh ok.

 

 

 

In highschool it wasnt taboo either, infact a fellow nerd did not believe in 2002 i was a major tip.it troll so he posted "does anyone know das1330???"

 

he goes to class with me and claims hes famous. 17 replies in 8 minutes. Booya.

 

 

 

Overall in my experience, WoW is on the same grounds as rs. your going to get teased of playing either, or you wont

My friend says Wolfteam (look it up) has bad graphics compared to RuneScape.
