Heh, i remember when I was in high school, senior year, 2 football players (all seniors) played Runescape too, and I think they still do, and also one of the fastest swimmers (2nd in state)that went to our school also played, we didn't really have much problem talking about it openly. Most ppl didn't care, it was just mostly the WoW players that would bash it...but besides that, no one really had any problem with it.

hehe... there's a definite 'clique' of kids here at our highschool that play it.. but how shall i say it... they aren't exactly the most mature type of kids and so in consequence i don't release my rsn or other info to them lest i get pm'd by them in game...

Whenever I'm at school, I try and look for people who mention or look like they might play runescape. I listen for every little detail...

Funny story, I wish my classes were that intresting :( ...

But I don't talk about RuneScape either in my school. I just don't feel the need to talk about it...

4 years ago, we were about 7 in my class playing runescape. All have stopped it except me :wall:

A quand un monde fran̮̤̉̉ais?

Listening to other people is fine, some peopel have veeeery amusing conversations :-w , but listening to them for the sole purpose of hoping they play runescape is on the borderline...

OT: A lot of people at my school play, I know at least 6 others in my grade, but we keep it quiet for the most part.

My Algebra teacher plays WOW and has a lvl 63 dwarf. He talks about it all the time <.< I told him to get a life and play RS2.

Haha no, no one but me in that class plays it. And I would NEVER talk about RS in school.

The first rule of fight club: Never talk about Fight Club.

yep talking about rs in school makes people think the person whose talking about is a nerd

LMAO, haha love that movie.

Anyways, its social suicide to mention runescape in a high school/college, and while i HONESTLY am a completely normal guy (friends, good grades, football and golf in school, snowboards, ladies man, etc.), i dont think ANYONE knows that i play runescape, excluding some kid that moved 3 states away from me a few years ago, but i think he'll keep the secret seeing as no one talks to him from my town anymore :XD:

I know what you mean. Sad to admit, but I'm one of the guys with the "if-you-don't-respect-me-it's-you're-social-death" kinda attitudes. I wouldn't talk about runescape because it'd ruin my reputation. (I guess I'm a hardass?)

I don't know any teachers who play RuneScape, but I know one of my friends teachers plays Guitar Hero. But we're both better than him.

Lol it was always a mix between being made fun of because I went to computer club, or being made fun of because I went to computer club to play runescape...

In the end, I found soccer was better =]

Tetris is about using the equal force of the working power to build up the glorious people's republic of Russia....

I just thought I would share the story with you all and I'm assuming there's a few other stories like this out there!

::'

Ohh yes you bet I do! This is such a funny (and true) story:

I make it a point to not play runescape in class. It makes people call you a nerd and If you get caught your laptop get's erased (yes, we get loaned laptops for the year). Now runescape Is blocked of course, but this one guy figured out how to play it at school. Now the school also has something that can tell what your laptop is doing at all times. When he got caught playing runescape in class he was sent to the tech room. The tech lady (who is a good 40-50 years old) told him that he was caught playing runescape. Then It got weird. She told him to log on to his account, which he did so. Then she told him to go to varrok and drop all his stuff. Now it is common knowlege in our school that she plays.

I would bet anyone 10 bucks and a partyhat that she logged on and grabbed all his stuff :o :o

I would never mention RuneScape in real life. They label me as a nerd and a geek if I do that. Even when I don't bring it up they do it. I'm scared that I'm going to end up throwing a desk at them. :uhh: It's all because my friend that played it quit because he got scammed, he starts attacking me about it.

yeah, after ppl quit, they seem to become all anti-RS; they try to pretend they quit cos they didn't like the game, and because its a bad game so it is ITS fault.

BUt actually they got themselves scammed, hacked or were just bad at the game, but they never face up to it being their fault. <.<

Don't get me wrong, i'm sure some people quit and are still happy with the game, just don't have the time, bnut from ppl i've seen quit........

Yeah...Some people just go out of their way to ruin other peoples fun.
Sounds like Jagex to me...

Imagine if the principal played runescape and organised a club

I no i'm going to sound too self-righteous or something but.. Don't be ashamed of something you enjoy. I talk about RS at school with friends. Sure some think its nerdy and lame but they don't shun me or anything.

Costantino.png

If it comes up in college then I'll talk about it, but I don't go out of my way too bring it up all the time. I know a few people in my college that do play though, through little hints they've let slip.... :P

The most interesting thing about this thread is how shocked everyone is that this teacher played Runescape. You have to remember that teachers are people too. When you know that it's easier to talk to them.

Like, one of my old science teachers, we used to go out and go to gigs together. Good times....

Slide-sig.png

yea, i caught my teacher playing runescape on his laptop during a test.

he had a party hat, but that's really all he had... given this was 3 years ago.

i ust kinda laughed and pointed out everyone in the room who played.

and at my school, we had a strict policy of if you mentioned runescape more than once a day, your arm is gonna get bruised... i started that after 40 people in one day asked me how to do a new quest i'de never seen, because my internet had been down for about a week :wall:

The world is full of self proclaimed experts who really don't know what they are talking about.
