Finally, I paid 170M for my Godsword and it was worth every penny, I love it.

On topic: The AGS isn't too overrated IMO, its got good stats and a good spec. Just the high cost is the bad part.

The simple answer is yes, it is overrated.

 

 

 

The Sara GS is better for nearly everything.. even dueling in many cases.

Honestly all of the godswords are overated, and not worth the money you pay for them. I've tired them out and honestly, I'd rather stick with a whip :x

not sure what you really mean by overrated, unless i'm getting the wrong definition. overrated to me means it is not as good as people think it is. but it does exactly what i said, 2 chances of hitting 79 with max str.

 

 

 

and yea sara would probably win in a 1 v 1 no food, pray, pots match, but to be honest when will that chance ever appear unless you're just messing around funning people at duel arena with specific rules?

 

hitting a 50+ max and a 70+ max is a big difference in a dm because lets face it, if you're out of food then you are gonna run with your 100m+ sword. it has alot higher chances of K0'ing someone while sara is maybe better for npc but not as reliable as guthans

Sorry, I'm not into getting scammed.

I owned a zgs once for 1 week and sold it back. Frankly, I wasn't impresed. Its not a bad wepeon at all. But its price is certainly not justified. I would buy it maybe if it were 5m, and that's a big maybe.

Armadyl is quite an unpredictable sword, sometimes you can do 0 dmg on a special with it and other times you can 3-hit people 10-20 levels higher then yourself, however that will happen much less often.

 

 

 

To be honest after using an armadyl for about a month I found it's overall DPS wasn't that much more than a whip. I think it's just a good staking sword that can quickly kill people a few times.

 

 

 

When it comes to the cost of the sword compared to how much dmg it does, there is no point in buying it. You are most likely better off just using a whip than an AGS, or any godsword for that matter. :)

I stood side by side with another 125 last night at abbies, he had bordos and godsword (not sure which one) and I had my typical full dragon with rune defender and whip with blackmask. With few exceptions, I dropped my abby faster then he did. He did make some impressive hits.......but the whip is much more consistent. That occasional 50-60 hit looked nice, and sometimes he dropped his freaky fast.....but over all, the whip was faster. Reminds me of DH at <10 hp...ya I hit sometimes with an impressive 80-90....but the never ending zeros dont make for an efficient weapon. No I didnt do an item to item comparison myself as I dont have a godsword, but like most things in RS, WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY over rated.

also whip+dfs is great, most situations better and cheaper

Something I noticed the other day:

 

 

 

The Zamorak Godsword has a hidden damage amplifier on its special attack. I was slaying Dark Beasts wearing a Neitiznot Helm, Fire Cape, Berserker Ring, Pros top and bottom, Dragon Boots, Barrow Gloves, and a Fury. I killed over 50 dark beasts, and I never hit over 40 with regular attacks (although I did hit up to 40 numerous times). However, on several occasions, when I used the special I hit a 42, 43, and twice I hit a 44. This leads me to believe the ZGS also has a 10% damage boost on its special attack, but it is not listed in the KB.

 

 

 

I was not potted and the only prayer I was using was Protection from Melee, before someone says anything. Also, I know I am only 87 slayer... I was using Wild Pies to kill them, as part of a "slave auction" event my clan has, and the only stats Wild Pies change are Ranged and Slayer (as well as HP but I don't count that.)

 

 

 

But other than sheer KO ability, the DFS/whip combo is far more versatile and in many cases superior. For slayer assignments in which you need to pray (Abby Spectres, Dark Beasts, Black Demons, Spiritual Mages) a godsword would be a better choice because of the +8 prayer mod. Basically, for people who have a lot of spare cash, Godswords are an alternative to buying useless garbage (i.e. rares). Yes, they are overrated, but at least they are helpful, unlike rares.
