Most wanted console this Christmas?

Featured Replies

Well, Christmas is upon us yet again, and this means lots of shopping and profits for shops and companies. But, what is the most wanted console this Christmas?

In my view, its the Wii yet again. When I was in the city last weekend, I saw lots of shops with notices about a Wii stock alert in most shops and yet the 360 and the PS3 still had a large stock. However, I'm in the UK and to us, the PS3 and the 360 is a bit expensive, Everyone seems to want the Wii.

What do you think? What will be the most wanted console this Christmas?

I will go with the Wii as well as the DS for the handhelds.

Just look at this article, and that isnt't even Christmas season yet.

Probably Wii because it also caters to even kids who can barely read.

I just can't see that many parents buying 1st graders a 360 or PS3 which cost double the price, when a Wii has easier usability plus has games exclusively for 'all audiences' (like the default Wii Sports).

Not flaming on any console, just thinking rationally which console will sell the most during christmas sales season.

Look at a poll from Gamefaqs from a few days ago:

Yes, a PS3 7.3% 6738

Yes, a Wii 8.1% 7478

Yes, a 360 7.2% 6647

Yes, a portable system 4.6% 4242

Yes, more than one 1.6% 1473

No, not this year 71.2% 65717

It looks like most people don't want or are not getting a console this year, but for the ones that do want one, the wii is the most popular.

Thank you 4be2jue for the wonderful sig and avatar!

I'm getting a PS2.

But man, $300+ for a non-hd console with mediocre online isn't attractive

$300? :?

It certainly is the Wii. Hell, I don't know how easy it will to even be found.

Also @ gamefaqs poll: chances are most people that go there probably already have the next gen consoles they wanted.

$300? :?

Retailers are bundling it with games (some even have HDTVs with it :uhh: ) for the X-mas season. I've been looking around since I'm considering gifting one for my younger siblings.

Oh haha. The second line of my post is about the Wii. I'm getting a (used) PS2 for myself.

Like someone said, they most likely have one already. No way, if anyone was asked, would they say they wouldn't want any new console for Christmas.

I got a 360 last month, and none of the other consoles really appeal to me.

Wii, I mean c'mon.

The Wii and Nintedo DS are most wanted for Xmas (i ordered mine too ::' )

but unfortunatly there is a big shortage of stock and we'll have to wait

Sales figures in the toy store I work for:

1) Wii

2) Playstation 2

3) Xbox 360

4) Playstation 3

As for the portables, the DS is going so fast it's ridiculous. Every morning around 9am we get dozens of calls to see if we've received any yet.

The wii will sell the most this Christmas.

The Wii is the only console in the house to ever be permanently in the front living room rather than confined to a bedroom.

While I'll be getting a 360 this Christmas, the Wii is certainly on the majority of kids' lists. Why? Simply, because it's fun, cool, and innovative.
