Intriguing
I'm Agnostic. So, for me, I believe it's very likely that a god(s) exists, however, we have no way of comprehending, understanding, or communicating with it, so I believe it's pointless to worship them. Cool. venomai
Recently I started heavily exploring God and spirituality. I'm still not set on my beliefs, but I'm peddling with the idea that God is infinite, and is perhaps nothing more than a metaphor for the spiritual connection that exists between all thought-energy in the multiverse. I'm a Bill Hicksist:  I just started watching Bill Hicks today on YouTube.. Really amazing stuff. :)

Doing good will gain me eternal rest and happyness, and encourageing others to do so ( do good) is all i need. God is love. God doesent hate or discriminate. \ My outlook on god. Bxpprod
I've recently invested in an English translation of the Qu'ran/Quran/Koran. I have a bible lying around, as well as the Satanic Bible (Anton LeVey) I'm more a less an atheist, but I find myself wanting to explore the theist beliefs, mainly because I've been raised to challenge things and grow intellectually. I guess that I just want to see if I can understand why so many people are so engrossed in the notion of religion. In short, I'm apathetic. BlueLancer
As in, what has complete control over your life and your possible/impossible current actions? Hate to admit it... But money. That's the case for most of the world's population as well. I have plenty, but occassionally I'll miss a great opportunity, investment, etc. just because I don't have 10 million to throw around. If I ever get a family, I just couldn't imagine my kid wishing for some quite simple but smart gift, say, he/she talked about getting a pool [billiard] table for christmas, and I'd have to tell him "we just don't have the money". That happened to me quite a few times as a kid, but I'm not angry at my parents or anything, fortunately I'm blessed with a bit better financial situation than they were. That's just a meaningless scenario anyways, since gifts aren't a necessity (given some people live on a few dollars a day and don't even dream of a pool table), but money controls everyone's lives directly or indirectly... It can shatter a family, it can make people marry each other, it can save human lives or buy the death of another... It creates wars, it forms peaces, it gives life and employment while depriving another... Capitalism may be good for the general accumulation of wealth, but it really is the devil of the modern world controlling just about everything. IGoddessI
I don't wish to call it a God, I'd prefer the term spiritual, non religious, energy vibrations or whatever you wish to call it. A huge fan of quantum physics where spirituality welcomes science. I'm leaning more towards venomai's beliefs. The only people who tell you that you can't do something are those who have already given up on their own dreams so feel the need to discourage yours. StrOwez
The Universe is my God so to speak... Why? Because its fun and it gives me no dumb outdated rules to follow... When I wait for a bus and I ask the universe to send me one and it comes 5sec later I can convince myself that there is a God named Universe... Anyhow I don't believe in modern Gods such as the Christian God, Jesus etc, they're all Gods that expect you to follow them and blah blah blah especially Jesus dying for me .. could of asked me before he made that decision on my behalf. What I'm getting at is religion wanting you to repay for something you didn't buy. So your best of making your own God up  peace to all. A friend to all is a friend to none. Not sure that's the definition of an agnostic buddeh :-s . More like a theist who believes in purely transcendent god(s). Agnostic has a few different meanings. In essence, it is just religious orientation of doubt. But anyway, what I described is, in fact, one of the definitions of Agnosticism. What you said would of been correct had I of said, "I believe that a god exists, however..." However, I said "...it's very likely that a god exists..." If for some reason while saying this I came across as a tool (I'm kind of thinking I did), I'm sorry, as I didn't mean to. Cool.
justin_m23
I guess that I just want to see if I can understand why so many people are so engrossed in the notion of religion. I could take any story, add a few rewards, then wack it, with a large serving of fear in a blender - and we have a religion. Generally, the whole reason for religion has been lost. People only believe for fear of the proposed consequences, and/or the benefits offered. Anyway, my god is reason. It obviously isn't clear whether or not there is a higher being. But if there is, it/he/she won't care if loved thy neighbor. Although, teh_langzor's response would be my second choice. :D
Intriguing
I guess that I just want to see if I can understand why so many people are so engrossed in the notion of religion. "The intelligent man who investigates the religion of any country without fear and without prejudice will not and cannot be a believer...." Robert Ingersoll (Taken from http://www.religioustolerance.org -- really good site if you want to get an unbiased view of any religion.) In my view, religion is either fuelled by fear or delusion. Or both. That's about it. Cool.

Just sayin', an agnostic would admit to having no knowledge on such as subject, and thus wouldn't even go so far as to say "it's very likely". You have some theistic beliefs if you consider the possibility of the existence of a god a strong possibility, even if you do not put all your faith into said belief. EDIT: Okay, after re-checking Wiki you're an "agnostic theist". No idea if that makes your post or my post right :-k . In my view, religion is either fuelled by fear or delusion. Or both. That's about it. Or, you know, a desire to understand the world and the meaning of a human life. God, ya'll spend so much time rebelling against your Christian upbringings that ya'll go seem to always go so far as to say all religions are [developmentally delayed]ed, meaingless, and empty, or something along those lines, without even fully studying the subject -_-".
