RedHanyu888
In the Christmas event, we get to build and create our own snowmen. We even get to choose their class. Whats more, we get to heal them with their own blood. If you think about it, it's like summoning. Has anyone noticed? Perhaps this is a taste of what Jagex has came up with for summoning. Maybe this will be like what we have to do when summoning rolls out.
Bloodredsword
There is already discussion about this in the official Christmas update thread...but yes. I personally think its a hint/try out. Kill_Thomas9
It might be, but for summoning to be the "huge" update it has been made out to be, it will have to be much much better that this.

However, this is probably a small taste of summoning, or wha Jagex has brainstormed for summoning to be.
snake6man
this could be a taste of summoning, but it could also be one of the ideas they threw out (pun accidental). Maby they made it up and didnt like it but figured it would be a good holliday event. Italian5kamikaze
Or maybe it has nothing to do with it at all? Quit. PM me if you play The Conduit to exchange friend codes.
Kill_Thomas9
It could be another test, similar to the quest that came out a while ago that was announced by jagex to be a test to see if the servers could handle summoning. (sorry, long sentence.)

Mayjest
Some things are certainly part of the mechanics of summoning, for example, the healing 'splats'. It's the first time I've seen the blue splats with any number except 0 in. And is it just me, or was the blue a different colour? Goals to get my skills back up to a barely respectable level on the high scores: Currently going for Bone to Peaches spell. It's amazing how boring doing the same repetitive task is! darkblade986
how is putting snow together like summoning? :-k It isn't the putting together of the snow, but the code that makes it work. For summoning, the code would be [Perform an Action -> Create a Monster]. This would test the ability of the code to create specific monsters (or in this case, NPCs) in a specific region. Most other NPCs are simply controlled by 3 different things: Whether you can see them or not (can be used in quests when someone should be somewhere at a specific time), the range that they can move around (which squares are they allowed to move to) and what to say, which can also change with quests. Summoning will put to the test the second function predominantly: summoning a creature and having it predefine a region that it might work in. don't worry, you are going to "hell" anyway. wanna race to see who gets there first?Officially reached 100 Combat at 1:33PM EST, June 14, 2007First Dragon Drop: Dragon Chain (Dust Devils) @ 10:48PM EST, July 14, 2008, lv113 combat

o_knames
My connection didn't seem too smooth when I was doing the event, so hopefully it's just a coincidence or something they noticed and work out. Then again, I was doing it the same time as just about everybody else. Then again again, the same overuse will probably happen when summoning is released.
