My friends ask me why I still visit the tip.it forums. After all, I pretty much quit Runescape three years ago. Why do I still come to these forums?

 

 

 

The people.

 

 

 

The people here are unbelievable. I post a simple 200k give away, hoping to raise malarial awareness and maybe get a donation of two. Instead I got a deluge of caring, heartwarming people approaching me from everywhere. My forum inbox? Maxed. My thread? Out of control. My Runescape clan chat? As bad as a Varrok market. My Runescape PMs? Well, letÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s just say I donÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t envy Zezima :P

 

 

 

I suppose I should explain myself before I get to far ahead of myself. As many of you may know I had a thread here two days ago about asking people to donate to charities in general, specifically charities that fought Malaria. I got a bit wrapped up in it all unfortunately and overstepped my RS legal bounds by infringing on Rule 12, aka RWT. I accept that and let it be known to anyone reading that I AM NO LONGER GIVING RS GOLD FOR DONATIONS. I also apologize to the tip.it staff for putting them in the awkward position to debate amongst themselves on whether or not to delete my post. I would see this as a difficult position to rightfully take and one that would not make many friends around here, yet they did what is right and I thank them for having the courage to do so.

 

 

 

Now, onto the happy news :D. How much money did we as a forum raise in 24 hours? Many were surprised when I said we raised over $1,000. Most were baffled when I said we broke $1,600. Well how much did we raise? IÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ll let you see for yourself...

Yes ladies and gentleman, two thousand, eight hundred fifty three and fifty seven cents. In one day. Wow, I donÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t even know what to say. I mean, I have been getting PM after PM from people saying they broke into tears after hearing of my plan or after they donated, but IÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ll admit it guys, IÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢m crying right now. We made over 2,800 dollars between us, just us tip.it folk. We saved an entire village. We saved more people then were killed on September 11th. Just this little forum called tip.it.

You deserve a thank you, for reminding us all that a little can go a long way. Also, I am sure that some people appreciated a reminder that we ARE fortunate, and that there are better things to spend money on than material goods.

You can't drop items in a classic fashion anymore. You can only trade it away. Unless you want to use the party hall. :-#
