Some of my friends hate family guy for being very discriminating. I do agree, somewhat it is quite offensive to many religions. And they say that makes it not funny. While even though some of the views are against views of mine, I find it hilarious.

 

I think Family Guy, is a great cartoon, filled with comedy, but some think it's based on pure stupidity. So what do you think of family guy;

Family Guy is one of my favourite shows, love it.

Hoenstly people just need to watch family guy and realize its for some cheap laughs. The humor isn't as well thought up as as a lot of south park episodes, but its still very funny. My favorite quote has to be:

It's offensive to all races/religions/chickens. And it's also extremely funny...many, though, get tired of the type of comedy in the form of flashbacks though I think. I dunno, imo it's a great way to express the comedic part of the show. It can be pretty raunchy (I got the fifth season a few days ago, and they do actually use f**k and many other words, which I was surprised about...also, in one episode they had a nude picture of Peter from waist down, I was like "zomg wtf?", was not expecting that). It only adds to the humor though, especially when it's Stewie using all the language.

Oh, and I might as well mention that we popped in South Park for maybe four epsiodes, then went back to Family Guy. South Park just isn't funny and they swear way too much.

My favourite FG moment is when Peter said he tried extacy, and he was groping Stewies face, then patting Brain, then he took all his clothes off and rubbing himself on the carpet. And everyone was sitting on the couch watching TV, haha.

Like Nadril said, Family Guy is for cheap laughs. Don't look to that show for outstanding morals or messages.

It's honestly pretty bad now. In fact, it hasn't been very good since they came back from being cancelled. They keep recycling jokes and stuff.

I find it to be humerous, but outright moronic. Just plain stupid. That said, it is also hilariously funny. I've only seen a few episodes, though. My favorite moment I;ve seen is when all the handicapped guys make a mega-man to get into the restaurant :XD:

Enough with the Show>another show>another show's. Any thread about family guy or the simpsons or anything always has to get those dumb comparisons. And honestly nobody cares which shows you prefer over family guy and which you think aren't as good. Not one person.

 

 

 

To the point - I love family guy for the reason you're not so sure about it. Just because it's so edgy and offensive. In a world where everyone is so uptight about always saying things the right way, it's a breath of fresh air. The last season hasn't been as great as others, but I still stick with it and love the show even though a lot of my friends have stopped watching new episodes because they think it's gotten worse. Although there isn't much plot to most episodes, I still love the style of the jokes and the sense of humor to the show.

In a nutshell really... if the Politically Correct brigade had their way, there'd be no TV, no music, nothing much of anything really. Just chill, tune out your moral centre... and enjoy.

But really, Family Guy does have some pretty dumb humor, but people need to lighten up and realize it's a COMEDY, and that it's going to offend people, but they need to realize that the writers for Family Guy AREN'T SERIOUS about the material they write. They're not out there to offend people, they're out there to make people laugh.

Thats the way I feel about it. If I want to watch a good animated show with substance I'd watch something like futurama.

 

 

 

 

 

Family guy still has made me probably laugh the hardest at some scenes however.

Love it. Don't take this too harshly anyone, but my personal opinion is that all religions are pointless anyway, so the PC thing doesn't bother me. JUST A PERSONAL OPINION THOUGH AND NOT PREACHING THIS VIEW TO OTHERS! Don't start quoting me and stuff :P

 

 

 

Family guy is great yeah, though season 6 lacked a little I felt, aswell as the movie. Definately one of the best, when something can rival The Simpsons and Futurama you know it's good. Lacks in storyline a lot, and the ideas are maybe a little tired, but it's not really about that anyway, just the jokes!
