Most over-rated band ever?

Slipknot, Metallica, or Pink Floyd.

Or the Plain White T's. Although they are kind of a one hit wonder with that song about that one steeplechase girl who, by the way, didn't do very well at the Olympic trials this year...... yeah.... still, I'm tired of hearing about them.

Metallica

I'm not going to give a response to your ignorance.

It is true, Metallica is actually the most over-rated metal band, excluding nu metal bands.

Why even try with that idiot? Honestly, there is no point whatsoever. I'd get better replies if I argued with a tree stump.

Coldplay.

*Waits for applause*

Agreed, even though I do like them.

More Japanese overratedness: Dir en grey. Think Linkin Park for the Japanese and weeaboos. They're really horrible and proof that Japan largely fails at making a metal band; sure, there was X Japan in the '80s, but remind me of how good they were? Maximum the Hormone isn't too bad, but they're very, very strange. l'arc~en~ciel aren't too great either.. just boring.

Radiohead are pretty overrated. They're basically Coldplay with a few differences.

Ugh, tell me about it. X Japan's Art of Life was a painful listen. 10(?) min Piano solo, ffs!

They were trying too hard to be a "visual kei prog/power/speed metal band". While some of their early stuff is absolutely hilarious, they're really not that good at all and I agree about the 10 minute piano solo.. I like prog, but I've never been that bored in my life. Ever. The only good Japanese metal band that I know of is Concerto Moon.

Mlbfan, you're a truly [cabbage]ty poster.

Lamb Of God is waaay overrated.

Haha troll much?

I bet that if I asked you in person you couldn't name a song from Lamb of God other than Laid to Rest because it's from Guitar Hero.

Randy Blythe, the vocalist, has a very unique pitched screaming voice (probably from all the cigs he smokes) and incorporates a lot of his political ideas into his vocals, making the vocals an all around great performance.

Both guitarists, Mark Morton and Wille Adler (younger brother of the drummer Chris Adler), share lead and rythym parts making them an excellent tandem of riff brutality. Many great solos and counter rythyms under the solos are due to those two's writing genius.

The bassist, John Campbell, is probably the most overlooked and underrated member of Lamb of God. He plays most of the same riffs that the guitarists do, which is a pretty daunting task when you are in Lamb of God. Campbell also only uses a 3-string bass.

And finally, the most impressive member of the band, in my opinion, Chris Adler. To give you an idea of why he is so good would be to tell you that Chris is a LEFT HANDED DRUMMER playing on a RIGHT HANDED SET putting him up with some of the great open-handed-lead drummers like Billy Cobham. Chris Adler applies 100% symmetry when he plays his kit, and since he is a left handed drummer on a right handed set his rythyms and sticking patterns are very, very unique.

With all that said, Lamb of God may be one of the top bands in metal right now. Lamb of God has stood the test of time being a band for almost 20 years. They not only create great studio albums, but play amazing live shows as well. The one thing that really impresses me the most is that Lamb of God, throughout the years, has never strayed from their original style. They have not sold out to mainstream rock and they never will. Lamb of God is riding the absolute edge of mainstream success and underground metal. You might never hear Lamb of God played on the radio, but that is due to the fact that it might make all of the Nickelback, Hinder, and System of a Down fan's brains turn into mush.

If you're going to troll me, next time at least try to know what you're getting into. Tool.

Coming from the person who used to have a Metallica avatar until adio exposed that you just copied your taste from lists of death/black metal bands...

i did not copied my tastes from anyone, the guy that i "supossedly" copied my list from, is a close friend of mine and thaught me most of what i know of metal nowadays. if you want to discuss that, feel free to pm, this is not the thread for it. and i DO like metallica, it is one of my top 10 bands and master of puppets is one of my favorite albums but that is not gonna make them less over-rated, is it?

EDIT: btw, i did not change my avatar because Adio did that. the rollback took it off, i didnt put it again because i couldnt find a 100x100 master of puppets avatar.

Why even try with that idiot? Honestly, there is no point whatsoever. I'd get better replies if I argued with a tree stump.

Haha yep, and what do you mean by hilarious? Good fun to listen to or just plain funny? Besides that, I don't know what they were thinking. Not even the myriad of prog bands that 'take it too far' would even do a 10 minute piano solo. Especially in a song that's nearly half and hour. Over 1/3 of the entire [bleep]ing song is a goddamn piano solo. I guess I wouldn't be so disappointed if they weren't so hyped up by people I know.

My favourite Japanese metal bands are Sigh and Sabbat. Besides that, I haven't listened to much/heard about besides X Japan.

well, you listen to satanic music so you already dont know anything about music

well i certainly doubt you know what is satanism. would you mind telling me which of the bands i listen to, are satanic?

EDIT: btw, listening to supossedly "satanist" bands does not make a person ignorant about music.

You call me ignorant yet you compare System Of A Down to Nickelback, I prolly won't lsiten to lamb of god because I don't want to end up an ignorant [wagon] like you.

Yes I do compare System of a Down to Nickelback because they both are mainstream rock artists. Get the picture? Both of those bands are catalysts for people like you to *think* they know about music because "zomg soad has lyrics that hve stoof abot politiks". That's why the blow. They are to rock music what McDonald's is to great burger restaurants.

Well the lyrics in Death Metal overall are harder to clearify then in other types of music, and " the band sucks" is an opinion with no facts to support it. Therefore i don't think he will get " over it ".
