@jaerkd00d I love how it goes from pictures of you guys setting up your downriggers to snacking on shrimp to your catch. I didn't know anyone from Eastern Washington knew how to fish outside of a river. ;)

I didn't actually do much. My cousin works on a charter boat up there and he is pro fisherman. He is the tall one you cant really see in many pictures. Reeling up a halibut is a [bleep] though, a couple hundred feet down with it fighting. :wall:

 

It gets even worse when you get a tiny shark or a turbot.

 

 

 

Yeah fishing is a boring but when you get something on then its all worth the wait. The last weekend I was home up in Washington for the summer we sat out on Puget Sound for like 5 or so hours and hooked one fish but a seal got it before we could land it. :x

Yeah. When we were salmon fishing we would basically wait 30 minutes then 3+ salmon would bite in 5 minutes period and then it would start over again. :lol:

Speaking of fishing...my last 2 spearfishing trips went fairly well...

280lb Ahi. Only way I eat um is raw.

 

 

 

Another catch. These are bigger, thats a 7ft cooler, one is 320 and the other is 290. The fish im holding is the biggest one I've caught spearfishing. These were caught trolling. And some other pics.

Might i ask two things:

 

Do you ever release any back or you always keep 'em...?

 

And if you keep them, how do you kill them? I saw you had hooked a couple of them, why? Why not use a less hurting technique when bringing them up?

 

Personally i could never use that spearfishing technique, partly since we don't have that type of fishing but also since it unnessecarily hurts the fish.

your mentality mate, I am a soon to be vet. (well soon.... 3 years away), and oppose to what some fishers may claim, Fish have a nervous system like us, and they can feel pain. I'm not going to say you shouldn't fish at all since that is your own choice, I don't know much about fishing at all, but if you can it's always nice to use a method that wouldn't hurt them.
