PizzaMan94
ok, i need money. about $400 to be exact. for normal people this isn't a problem. but i am a kid(only 14 - no job). and i can't do kid stuff, like mow lawns or sell old toys(none to sell). so how can i make $400 in a month? also, why do i need this? i need 200 for an iPhone (eBay FTW? \ ) and 170 for rock band for wii  . and the extra 30 will be for tax and maybe a new hunting knife .(some wonder why i need an iPhone or a hunting knife when i'm 14, but i have my reasons(not gonna kill anyone, don't worry.)) EDIT: i want the money/stuff, not need. EDIT#2: now i've looked into buying a blacklight setup for my room. i looked it up and did my research, it will cost another $95. Range_This11
Jobs for your age: Bag groceries at local supermarket, bus tables at a restaurant, mow lawns around the neighborhood. That's pretty much it since not many places like to hire 14 year olds. Adam007
You don't need money. You want all that stuff but you don't need any of it. I don't mean to condescend - it just bothers me when people say they need money for things they want. You'll probably need a lot more for that iphone if you're going through AT&T. they bumped the monthly plan to $30 a month. As for how to get it, there are plenty of jobs at that age. Just take some initiative and get looking.
Rebdragon
some wonder why i need an iPhone or a hunting knife when i'm 14, but i have my reasons(not gonna kill anyone, don't worry.)) Tell us them, please. If you can't get a job this may not be as easy as you want it to be. Cup Lion
Lawn mowing is a great way to make money. Other jobs come along with lawn mowing as well. My neighbor, for example, has me lawn mow, trim, and they are starting a project on finishing their fence and laying out bark around their garden. If you have a couple people around the neighborhood who are willing to hire you, you could have $400 dollars in no time. You'd just be pretty darn busy. |Signature by Jason321|

InkofDeath
Or wait till your 15 and get a job at a corner store, or working in the backrooms of a supermarket. Waiting till your 15 will open up a lot more of opportunities, that are far better than mowing a lawn. Even working at a golf course, or working at a sports league would be better... Besides you don't need it, I don't even have a cell phone, and I'm still living.
Nadril
Get a job, there isn't any magical way to make $400. And you don't need it. [bleep], I wouldn't even spend that kind of money on a phone and I'm working 40 hours a week during the summer.
PizzaMan94
i understand that i don't need it, but what i mean is that i need the money to get the items that i want. and my parents wont pay me for anything. and i CANNOT get a job as i am underaged. also i can't mow lawns because i don't live in a neighborhood (i have cows) and my parents pay for my phone plan, but the rest is up to me(i'm usin a free phone that comes with the plan -.- ). klankaos
Well, you're kinda screwed if you don't want to get a steady job. I'm nearly broke all the time, and guess what? I don't have a job. I babysit lots, I mow lawns, etc... But without steady income, it's out as fast as it's in. In winter it's better - I referee hockey for cash then. That's fine money. But still, there's just no easy way to make the money without working a steady job, especially if you want $400 in a month. Find a part-time job somewhere - or, if you want one you can choose to go with or not on a game-by-game basis, I'd really suggest getting into reffing. Any sport. You can turn down games you don't want, and it pays good money if you can get a couple of games in a weekend. I make around $120 every hockey tournament weekend, and it's the best job ever. Find something you like doing. Then do it for money. Easy way out. Being immature is a part of being mature.

IGoddessI
Why do you need it in a month - They're not important things they can wait. You have a phone that is paid for in full by your parents. You don't have any reason to have a pocket knife and I'm pretty sure there's a law against a 14 year old kid walking in the store and buying one. The wii isn't important either and if you wait longer than a month the price will go down. Wait until you're older and stop whining about non important things in life. I do have plenty of money making ideas but I'm not going to give you any. They're not going towards important things like putting food on the table, flying to see a dying relative, petrol to get to work, a car repayment you can't afford this week or medical expenses. Talk to your parents and if they say no, deal with it like every other 14 year old kid. I'm not helping a spoilt brat get the latest crap and certainly will not contribute in any form in the obtainment of a freaking weapon. If you were my son and I found the pocket knife, boy you wouldn't be getting a wii until you can afford to live on your own. The only people who tell you that you can't do something are those who have already given up on their own dreams so feel the need to discourage yours. NorthernHero
What is this iphone? Some kind of phone with mp player in it? And it costs 200? Let me tell you something. I have been using same phone for over 6 years now. It has no extra features.. it's f* antique. It servers it's purpose, which is to contact people. You don't need this super phone. And maybe you have already quessed.. there is no magical way to get money. So it's maybe impossible for you to get this. Reality is hundreds of times more beautiful and more interesting than delusions. Fairy tales just tend to be easier to follow than the wonderful intricacies of life. klankaos
Would someone mind informing me of why it is an honest necessity for everyone to have a cell phone? I've never had and most likely never will have a cell, and never missed it. Honestly, isn't it just extra money you're spending? Why do you find a cell phone to be even worth paying for? You don't need to be given an item to be a spoiled brat. The wanting of unimportant items after the word "no" including a weapon already indicate to me that he's a brat. The latest phone as an example, he already has a phone that makes calls, sends messages and is fully paid for. The latest game for wii as another example, big deal play your other games and be thankful you even got a game console. You can't honestly tell me his parents have said "Okay little Johnny, if you can afford the pocket knife yourself, you can have it." "Brat" in another context meaning "A troublesome child" please, what is something productive a 14 year old would need a pocket knife for? Whether you can see where I get that from or not I could really care less so we'll have to agree to disagree. PizzaMan94
i am not a spoiled brat. i have the farmers tan from working to prove it. my parents don't buy me anything unless its a special occasion. i used to work for my dad on weekends (tractor work), but now theres no more work and i can't work for him during the week as thats when his office job is. i have had to work for and earn almost all of the money i've had - with physical, back-breaking, manual labor. if your going to insult me, then get off my thread. EDIT: also, my phone drops calls and my messaging is disabled. EDIT#2: and my brother is 18, so i can buy a knife. and i want a new knife because i've always been fascinated by thier history and i love toying around with knives... idk why. EDIT#3: and i didn't say pocket knife, i said hunting knife, as i'm goin boar hunting soon and want some line of defense.(i do have my hunting license.) EDIT#4: i already have a wii, i am trying to save up for and buy rock band (a game) for it, it costs $170 so much for the tip.it forums being supportive and nice... IGoddessI
Your parents allow you to go boar hunting and play with hunting knives at 14? =D> People on this board are supportive and helpful. Some prefer to support a kid saving for a car rather than buying a pocket knife and some prefer to be helpful by being truthful and telling you the way it is. Most have told you the way it is "Get a job". I find that pretty helpful considering it's the most truthful answer you're going to get. I don't mind leaving your topic because my opinion is still the same. Good luck making the money you need but I don't think you'll be getting it within the next month. You could.. I don't know.. InkofDeath
Your parents allow you to go boar hunting and play with hunting knives at 14? Like I said "Brat - troublesome kid". You fit the description nicely. Your using those words way out of context, and how is someone who goes hunting a troublesome kid? Generalizing much? EDIT:also, if i take your same narrow-mindedness, and use for something else: 'cookies are bad! they do nothing but make people fat!' EDIT#2: i gotta go to bed now as i'm tired and i have to do some wood work and painting tomorrow.

He's asking for ways to find money which means he wants to WORK for the money so he can get these things. and believe me, if i could get a job like my 19 year old brother getting $600 a check i would jump at that chance right now but i can't because of my age
IGoddessI
Pizza and Skatedog - As I've said before we will have to agree to disagree. Do you understand the concept? You're not going to persuade me, I'm not going to persuade you. Instead of getting wound up and getting nowhere, you accept the differences in opinion and move on. Should either of you feel the need to continue this conversation, please feel free to take it to my PM box. Also, Pizza if you can honestly tell me you want this stuff but realize you might not get it in the next month and will have to wait, I will gladly apologize for my comment.
