Leveling through quests.

After getting my account unbanned after several years, I got a new members subscription and was stunned at the amount of quests. Just tons and tons. So, I decided to do all of them (or at least all they I could do). Many were useless to me, other than simply unlocking new quests, however I understand that they were made for lower level people. However when I looked into the requirements for a fairy tale part 2 and noticed I needed 49 farming (was level 1 at the time). It hit me that I could do other quests in the mean time, quests which give farming exp as a reward to help me get there while still doing more quests.

So I started on a fairy tale part 1 (needed it done anyway, obviously) and the 3500 farming exp boosted me to level 17, quite a jump. Obviously that 3500 would mean little once I'm level 40, but instantly going to level 17 by doing a quest I would be doing anyway means when I start training my farming I'll already be getting a higher exp rate. After finishing a forgettable tale, it'll go from 17 to 25 (almost 26) too.

So, the question is. Have you ever used the method, of completely quests to help raise levels for other quests?

Not really, by the time you hit the mid 50's you can usually get XP faster from training then questing. I could see it being helpful at level 1, though. Especially if you were planning on doing the quest anyway.

Quests helped me get some of my levels.

Some of the rewards are pretty big, say Monkey Madness etc.

I know the quests take ages to complete anyway, but it's more fun than grinding.

Also it helps train up skills I wouldn't have done otherwise.

i got like 29 smithing from the blurite sword quest.

The Knight's Sword, 1-29 smithing with little to no effort. Thanks.

Pirate Rosetta stone. Learn a language while you scape.

Sounds interesting, but these days how many people really speak Pirate?

I did so for my lower level skills. And mainly Tears of Guthix has helped me quite a bit for Summoning and Construction >.>.

I used many quests to level up skills.

Eagles Peak to go up quickly in hunter levels. Feud quest to gain loads of thieving levels. Grand Tree, and Troll quests to get painful agility levels.

Tears of Guthix have given me plenty of runecrafting and summoning levels too which is nice. These days I look at quests almost solely for xp, unless it gives me new training methods, or access to new areas/weapons.

I do quests for 3 reasons.

1 - New areas/skills/abilities

2 - Higher Quests

3 - Large xp lamps.

One Small Favor and the RFD (mainly for gloves but the xp lamps were a bonus) I did for nice chunks of agility xp. Hour long quest beats grinding 20k agility xp. I needed QP for RFD anyway.

Knight's Sword and Dragon Slayer for F2P.

I shall take my flock underneath my own wing, and kick them right the [bleep] out of the tree. If they were meant to fly, they won't break their necks on the concrete.
So, what is 1.111... equal to?

10/9.

Please don't continue.

When I was training to do the Legend's Quest, I used numerous other quest rewards to level my herblore. The required herblore level seemed so high back then, mind you I've barely levelled it since :P.

But yeah, I have used quests to level a skill or two, it's a nice alternative to the monotonous levelling most skills feature. The XP really isn't worth it for skills that are in the 50's or above, though.

Well of course after the 50's the exp becomes negligible. However below 50, when you need to do the quests anyway (since I assume most people want to have completed all the quests), it can be a great way to get an early boost on your levels and therefore speed up the leveling process, or at least in my experience it is.
