Java vs NOT JAVA can't be compared.

Man, I really do love Runescape, and I'm sure if it was a real person I would of asked it to marry me by now.

unfair to compare them. Its like comparing shoes to rocks.

+1

You can compare the graphics and gameplay, just as you can compare the dirt on rocks and shoes, and the weight diffence, but you cant compare the games in their entirety.

The words Java and JavaGamingExperts might mean something to you. Incase you didn't know, Runescape in this detail level is an incredible achievement in Java.

Neither. They're two completely different games. If I ever got bored of RS, I'd go to WoW. And perhaps someone incredibly bored of WoW would try RS for a while... or maybe they could play both so as not to get burned out on either. You don't have to be loyal to one or the other...

You ask us to watch videos that compare them? Videos are so biased. They are all made by noobs who play wow and think runescape sucks.

It all comes down to one thing: gameplay vs. graphics.

It has nothing to do with Java, which is one of the more powerful languages. It's the fact that the game is browser based.

Large downloads are also now not so much of a limitation because instead of downloading large rendering, we now download algorithms so our own machines can make the renders. With this method and the powerful new game engine, Jagex can do pretty much whatever they want with Runescape.

Moved this to Questionaires, as it seemed like a better forum for this topic.

For those of you who thinks this is a meaningless or irrelevant topic; don't reply. Those who want to discuss this, should not have to read through 10 almost identical replies saying "You can't compare them, they are two totally different games." If people want to debate and compare the two games, please let them. :)

You're accusing me of bigotry, how ironic. It's a nice attempt at argument, but your responses are facile and asinine, if not diatribe. Who's arrogant now?

And no, that is not because I've retired from RS and gone to WoW, I seriously put thought into each of these.

it's comparing two mmorpgs, they aren't completely different things

Ok you know what? I'll say it. WoW is a better game. What of it? Does that mean it's everyone's favorite game? No. Does that mean everyone can afford the $15 a month? No. So what is the point in even asking?

A few things:

Number one: WoW-RS is not like Shoes-racks...Shoes and racks have nothing in common, while RS and WOW and MMORPGS.

Number two: When I said "watch videos" I meant pk and in game vid's. I understand that Wow vs RS vids are 100% BIASED.

Number three: Although this is an RS fansite, many ppl who post here don't play RS, and some people have already said WoW is better.

Of course, being a RS player, I'm going to give Runescape the higher rating.

Graphics - I never played on HD, but from what I see it only looks a little behind WOW.

Game play - This is just my overall enjoyment of the game.

Extra features - They both need a lot of work to be honest, but RS has Castle Wars which I like much more than Warsong Gulch.

PVP - WOW takes the cake. You can pick your own race, class, and subclass. However, I also like RS PVP except for PKing.

Trading - Not much to talk about here. I guess I like the fact that RWT is gone from RS, so you know most people actually worked for the items they have.

PVL - RS wins because of Slayer.

Quests - WOW Quests are way too repetitive.

Skills - This was always the strong point of RS and the low point of WOW in my opinion. I don't really know why though.

Cost - 5 dollars a month beats 15.
