I'm getting sick of Sylar switching sides tbh

and what I don't get it Sylar already has Elle's power, but he still wants to open her up?

I'm surprised that nobody was disturbed that they were about to do it when Elle had a recent gunshot wound on her hip.

Elle is a masochist and Sylar has a fetish.

I'm guessing he's opening her up to see what she knows about his "parents."

Yeah, Seth Green is the man.

I don't think Sylar can read memories with his power. I'd also think it is lame if Sylar wasn't a Petrelli, that was a good plot and they made a big deal about it (Sylar still thinks he is Peter's brother in the future they are trying to prevent now). Him being a Petrelli would make sense since the other two empaths we know of are both Petrellis (Peter and Dad), and Nathan was nothing before being given his powers.

Yah, I completely agree on the idea that Sylar actually is a Petrelli, for those same reasons. I thought there was a bit in one of the previous seasons about Sylar opening up someone's head to see what they are thinking, to "understand" what's going on in there.

I just hope they stop trying to make him into this sort of Rogue entity, who has no side. It was good that Sylar went to the good side, but the constant flipping is annoying.

Sylar killed Elle to understand all the secrets she knows. It's not hard, people.

Best season 3 ep by far

Sylar can read minds by opening people's heads? No he can't.

Yeah that's what I said in my last post, a few people have posted that he can and I am not sure why.

He "understands" minds by poking around and his intuitive aptitute does that work.Has nothing to do with mind reading.

Which means that at least he (Perhaps normal people too) has the power in him, dormantly, since he only needs to see one instance of it to activate.

Yes, if he gets a mind readers powers he will be able to read minds, that is obvious. Right now he hasn't and can't. He is just an empath.

So he's just a psycho then? Killing for the sake of killing? That's kinda dumb. At least his killing before had a purpose (ie. to learn their power because of the "hunger")

Before Elle that was the only way he knew how to do it, he couldn't control the hunger (or didn't want to). The hunger definitely exists because Peter got it too when he took Sylar's power.

But the hunger was to know, to understand, by any means necessary. Before Elle that meant opening up skulls to see what's going on under the hood. After, the hunger was being satisfied in a different way, through empathy.

They used the word empath in a different way, in super hero terms empathy is when your power is to take another person's powers. Sylar's empath power at first required him to cut open the head and understand what was going on. Now he can just empathize with someone and gain their power.

I think that the hunger is an addiction which has become so embedded in Sylar's mind that it is more of a force of habit, as well as being much easier for Sylar to carry out than pure empathy, which by comparison seems to be a very slow and difficult process. That makes him more of a psychopath than before, even with a way out, he doesn't take it.

Waaaaait a minute.

Sylar is capable of Clairsentience (learning the history of any object he touches). Maybe he can do the same with humans, like an indirect bit of 'brain mojo'?

Yes, I realize this, and I was using the other definition of empathy. I was in no way refering to how Sylar's power is described. I guess I don't know how to better explain what I mean. I'm saying that Sylar's hunger is not a bloodthirst, but a longing to understand. The only way he could do that before was cutting people open, but then he learned how to do it by relating to another person, and that satisfied the hunger. Now, however, he is to distracted by his own conflicting feelings regarding what to believe about his parents to relate to others, and hence he must feed the hunger in the old way.

That theory makes sense. Since he has been manipulated so much this season he is getting confused as to who he is and what he is. He is unsure wether he is a born killer or suffering from his power. Maybe we will see a conflict between him and Arthur, rather than Sylar taking orders from him.

I'm looking forward to see what Clair and Hiro will find out about Clair's past, and what Kaito said when he handed Clair over to Noah. (besides what we've heard so far) I also hope Hiro gets his memory restored soon.

Woah that episode was intense.

I have so many thoughts swirling around in my head, so my post is going to be all over the place, please bear with me . :wall:

Alright, I officially hate Sylar again. <.< He's back to the same old killer he always was. Killing 4 people in one sitting. That poor guy in the elevator, it was probably the longest elevator ride in his life.

It was pretty cool seeing Hiro's mom and how she was the catalyst. She shouldn't have given it to Hiro. :shame: I'm trying to figure out how Arthur found out Hiro was the new catalyst and how he was there at the exact moment.

I think its a pretty safe bet to say Arthur is dead now. Although it does make me sad, he grew on me. It was nice how they told us how the Hashens powers work, it makes perfect sense. I wonder what happens when the Hashen goes to take out Sylar. :ohnoes:

All around one of my favorite episodes. The plot wasn't all over the place, it wasn't drawn out. I think they are improving on these faults. Its going to get much better.
