If you've read the Behind the Scenes article on the Runescape homepage for August, then you've most likely seen that there will be a Runecrafting Guild introduced this month.

 

 

 

My question is this: What effect will the Runecrafting Guild have on the prices of runes? Will they skyrocket or fall? Will there be any impact at all? And if the prices do change, will this cause a change in the price of essence/pure essence?

im rcing alot right now and i havent bought more ess than i need simpls because im praying on cheap ess for sale in the guild

Rune prices will probably stay stable tbh, pure essence will most likely go up but I'm hopin it'll drop shortly after to a reasonable price because of somethin random like pure essence rewards from the guild.

That would be pointless for people who mine it for money.

I had 80 runecrafting banked but i've decided it would be safer to just bank a level, get it and bank another.

 

 

 

The last time something affected RCing I ended up buying at 180 ea only to find them dropping quickly soon after that #-o

but i jsut want to know what the point of the rc guild will serve? give us free talismans or ess? most likely im thinking that there will be a mining area for ess there. maybe rune pouches? hmmmm well, ill be waiting anxiously in agony :lol:

Hopefully the prices will fall enough that I will finally be able to use mage for more than teleporting, quests and enchanting...

I dont see what they can add to the guild that wont make rune costs fall. They probably will make a teleport thing to the essence mine. A rune and talisman shop. Some weird minigame. After theres not much else. Maybe an entrance to the abyss, but that would make rune prices drop.

I think it will depend on what the runecrafting update changes about runecrafting.

 

 

 

However, other than the unknown, I can see a small, short term drop in rune prices because a lot of people will suddenly start training runecrafting.

Oh yeah, because FTP REALLY deserves it.

 

If they have any common sense it'll be PTP.

I think it shouldn't be out into action, what would the altars do if you had a place where you could do them all, or is it just picking up the talismans, it's either dumb, or confusing IMO :P

I think there will be something that causes the pure essence prices to fall.

If Runecrafting becomes easier, essence prices go up and rune prices go down. If not, the opposite. It's that simple.

Agreed. JaGex wouldnt ruin what is probobly the main low level source for money making. Believe it or not...they ARE smarter than that.
