Last night I hung out with some friends. We were out walking around during the night, and there was shooting pretty close by. A pistol and a shotgun, we figured. We ran back to my friend's house. I doubt it was more than a quarter mile from where we were.

 

 

 

Not good. But last night was fun apart from that. We need more chicks in our group, though.

I'm reading up about organ donation at the moment. Ever since I knew what organ donation was I kinda figured I'd want to be a donor. I'm of the opinion that once I'm dead, I'm dead. If I can save a few lives then why not? I'm thinking of actually joining the donor register soon though. I might wait until I'm 18 so I don't need permission from my parents (not that they'd say no really, though they might reckon it's morbid thinking of that already). But I could get hit by a bus in a year's time for all I know, I might as well. I'm looking up things like donating blood and bone marrow too.

Quite an uninteresting weekend apart from football. Hope that Everton wins tomorrow.

 

Two things that i've noticed lately; I never seem to get a reply on emails i send to people - Either i don't get a reply at all, or i get a short reply a week later or i get a proper reply weeks later. So i've decided that f it, no need for me to send mails.

 

Also noticed something funny when i ask "friends" what they are doing on a weekend and if they'd like to have some beers. Probably 85% of the time i get "nah..." as an answer and if they say yes, then it's always "go to the town"... What's wrong drinking and watching some movie? I prefer that, since i don't really like going out and i think it's too expensive. I find it funny since i hear alot of times ze people goes out but i never hear about it until a week later or so. God damn it's annoying, and i think i'm gonna move into the department of f it about this too.

 

 

 

So today, well... Played RS, watched football and had home-made pizza for dinner which was pretty nice. Tonight i guess it'll be more RS... Lol.

Bone marrow is scary. I don't know why you'd donate it, unless you know someone close to you with leukemia. It's a horrible process to get it out. But when you're getting something in your bones, out of your bones, well it can't really be good can it?

Knowing that you're saving a life is pretty cool. It's not at all a selfless feeling and I've never experienced it but it's pretty cool. The process itself is probably no fun but it's probably not as bad as having leukemia. Maybe they give you a lollipop too.

I'm contemplating buying a cheap little camcorder and making little films. I also considered saving for a better camera, as in one in the 4000-dollar range, but I think I'll wait for my video tech class to play out to do that.

 

 

 

I do want to make some sort of film before I go to college. I don't expect it to be good, but adding anything to a portfolio can be helpful. Maybe I should consider a script that could actually be applicable to Lubbock...

 

 

 

Whatever. Maybe sometime this year I'll buy one of those little Mino camcorders. Then again, we're learning how to use good cameras in video tech, so it might feel very inferior. Augh.

It's fun, don't worry. You might get nervous at first but you'll get used to the speed and then when you drive back into town it feels like you're going really slowly. Didn't you only just get your learners?

@Ouchy_S: Driving on the freeway is no different than driving on a main street with higher speed limits and no stop signs. You just have to have your wits about you while you do so; not everyone driving on the main street (or the highway) does.

 

 

 

On topic: This didn't happen today, but I'm still kind of stunned from it 48 hours ago. I was in my Calc II class, as usual, trying to keep up with the professor. It's been two weeks since I started the class, and I could tell that the professor really wasn't teaching us jack about the more difficult aspects of Calculus (Trigonometric substitutions, partial fractions, and general review of complex limits).

 

 

 

So everyone in the class is feeling dead and lifeless as he goes over yet another example without explaining how he got to where he was, and out of nowhere, a female student just gets up and storms out of the room. No big deal, really - students get frustrated with difficult courses all the time. I should know; I tutor one of the hardest subjects out there.

 

 

 

About five seconds later, the entire class hears from the hallway a scream that would have made your blood freeze. The teacher was oblivious to the matter; didn't give a damn apparently, and continued right down his crappy path.

 

 

 

At the break, more than half the students just left the class, and some told me they dropped. I stayed for the entire lecture (to show the professor some respect), but I wound up dropping the class and getting into another section.

 

 

 

Honestly I thought the woman would go postal on him. I didn't know what to expect. She came back a bit calmer though to gather her belongings, and went to the Department Head to talk about a section change.

Freeways are lots of fun. I actually drove on one today, but it was a bit scary because the car broke down three times in the neighborhood. Then we got in a different car and bought a new battery and put it in. The car didn't break down, but driving on the freeway was still pretty scary because we weren't entirely sure it was the battery that was causing the problem. Also, thunderstorms + night = bad. But other than that it's really fun!

 

 

 

Also bought a book today with over 27 different creme brulee recipes. =P~
