I'm going to have a sober October. No drinking in October no thanks. I've drank enough now I've had my fun. Homecoming was interesting. We started drinking at 7am. I had my last drink at 11pm and stayed up till 2 with my housemates and ordered a pizza for our inevitable hangovers. The pizza was great. I'm drinking lots of water and eventually I know I'll feel better by this evening for dinner. Finally made some Canadian friends. Other than being harassed by drunk male idiots my day was alright. No more drinking at 7. I lost my sambuca ginity and i love it now. Also hate whiskey even more after drinking a quarter of a bottle of Canadian whiskey straight

Damn Maddy, you look like even more of a drinker than I was.

My health is gone now, can't drink anymore.

Make sure same doesn't happen to you.

So I've noticed this thread's regulars all follow similar trends.

RPG is constantly dealing with psycho exes.

Muggi reminds us of the joys of polygamy.

Saq is totally oblivious to how much chicks dig him.

I strike out every other week.

Kalphite wages a war against the friend zone.

Randox pretty much stays rational.

Etc, etc

Moving back to Essex, tomorrow, to start my PhD. If i was to describe how I feel right now I would go with "Terrified". But that doesn't begin to describe how much I am shitting myself over this hahahaha. I'm doomed.

Luck be a Lady

Boris are you on campus or in the hood?

I'm in the hood, living on campus is far too costly and just a bit too inconvenient for me.

Yeah fair enough.

Are you deep in the hood? To be honest I didn't spend loads of time there but some of my friends had their car types punctured and windows slashed :(

Back behind Tesco has a lot of drugs but from where my other friends lived, not much vandalism although one of them got mugged.

I'm unsure of where I'm going to live when I come back from Canada. I want to live in the posh apartments near the furthest 'campus' accommodation but obviously £££

and that annoying bridge

I wanted to watch the Supermoon/Blood moon tonight but it's too cloudy here, and every stream I can find seems to 404. So now I'm cranky :(.

My blog here if you want to check out my Times articles and other writings! I always appreciate comments/feedback.

Hi guys, been ages.

Came back from my trip to Norway over a week ago. It was completely amazing. The Fjordruta was way more into the wild than I thought it would be, and on the second day we ended up getting lost on the way up a mountain. We decided to just climb the thing since it was in our way, ended up spending almost the entire day climbing off the trail till we ended up finding the trail again and climbing the rest from there. It was tough but to get to the top and see the view, it just made it all worth it. We set up our tents there and ended up seeing the northern lights on the top of that mountain. Unforgettable experience. The last few days we spent in a wonderful house we rented, which had a lake in its backyard among other perks. All in all, good times were had.

Other than that, bought a new laptop last week. It's way too good for me and I love it. Last laptop kinda stopped working, since it just randomly shuts down constantly. Only thing I'm still really worried about right now is my iTunes library, since I haven't been able to back it up properly on a drive before my laptop died.

Jesus. I still can't drink Sambuca. I [bleep]ing hate black licorice. I remember we decided to drink a whole shitload of it when we were already drunk and my friend panicked because his tongue turned black.

I live in the posh flat haha. They aren't actually that costly if you look hard enough - but they are nonetheless really secure and really nice apartments. Will have to walk across the bridge twice a day though fml.

For those who do not have the pleasure of knowing the bridge:

Psoriasis is a [bleep]. washed my hair 4 times just then, then re-conditioned it. The only 2 genetics dad gave me: young appearance and severe Psoriasis break-outs on the scalp.

Good luck friend. If I live anywhere further than mascot then I'm getting a bus pass.

What's the scheme of a PhD though, do you have a supervisor or something? And will you be around when I'm back next year?

Freshers looks insane based on snapchat stories, might want to stay clear of sq3 at the moment.

I might get a jager bomb in November and see what they taste like here. There's weird tastes of things here like chicken tikka doesn't taste like it should and I am hating tomato sauces herehere. Going to adjust my grocery shopping accordingly.

I have the same thing. They make a foam that you rub into your hair that sort of melts and soaks in to your scalp that works really well.

“I had a feeling we weren’t coming back from this fight when it began.”

“Do you have any regrets?”

“I don’t. It seems surprising, I know, but I wouldn’t change a thing. This is how it was meant to be.”

“Huh, you never really notice how lovely the day is until you realize you’ll never see it again.”

“Mmmhmm.”

it's easier to cycle. They made it like that for the ease of disabled students to get to the student accommodation on the other side.

I had a couple of friends down there and there's a pizza place and chicken shop around there so sometimes there's some things worth walking along an annoying bridge for.

I've been tossing around the format for a creative work in my head for a few weeks now. Haven't even begun to write it because I'd like to take a more modern approach to presenting digital, text-based media. I've scoured the internet for an innovative way of structuring the work, even going as far to ask on in this very thread, but the best I found was having to master the arcane inner-machinations of some TeX distribution, even even then, it may not be suitable.

So tonight I had a brilliant thought. Why not make my own? I don't need the sheer power (and complexity) provided by TeX. All I'd need is a good PDF output library, and what do you know, there's such a thing: libHaru. I'll roll some simple template engine in Lua, write some bindings for libHaru using LuaJIT'S FFI, and then I'll be able to pull together a useful tool to organize and format MyIdealLiteraryWork.

Perhaps I'll be able to use this as a sort of therapy. There's a very personal story, even if the end result is fiction, I want to tell, even if it's just my future self.

There is a subway now too that literally just opened :D

The PhD scheme involves me having a supervisor who is my Final Year Project Supervisor and I am really just continuing what I am doing from my third year. (But like harder). I will be milling about next year.

Never thought to try parkour down it. There is an alternative walk I can make that walks through a wooded area - but it is a longer walk, the horror.

Well I didn't want to patronize you, but are you just meaning to be able to type text in a predefined shape? As much as I don't particularly like Microsoft, it seems to be doable in Word (see a tutorial here). It's easier in Photoshop - more or less draw a shape and then type inside it. Those would take up a lot of space though...I'm not sure how long a story/how many pages you are planning on writing.
