Someone said Reliving your life again

I thought I was the only one who thought that and that I was crazy but I guess not

Thank god

If you do things right people won't be sure you've done anything at all.

always been a big fan of "nothing happens" all that is left is your legacy based on what you accomplished, who you knew, and what you did, but like when you were alive, time eroded all, other people will finish your work, people will die, and mounments fall. you may think people like cesar may live on forever, but given enough time even they all will be forgotten in the sea of time

Yeah, I tend to think whatever happens is what you want to happen. Maybe it is all just a dream. So? Not like you can complain. You're dead. So take that.

the dream thing is actually an interesting idea. i think you guys (my tipit friends) would like the movie 'waking life' alot. It covers alot of basic philosophical questions and breaks them down for laymen. Its something i think we dont get enough of in the western education system until university. If your interested you can look up a few clips on youtube, i like the one on free will and determinism, or get it out from the movie store.

throughout the movie the antagonist discovers that the only difference between your waking life and your dream life is consistency, because you can see and hear things just as clear as in your waking life and dreams can seem to last for hours or days. So in actual fact our waking life is the same just more predictable and controllable and boring than our dreaming life.

There is a period of time, about 6 minutes, when we die where our brain is more active than it is normally. 6 minutes is enough time to have a dream that seems to last for days, so it is possible to that the life we are living now exists after we are dead and only our brains are active. Or that our entire life that we remember exists in this period before we die

Hope i have blown your minds

i dont believe that when we die we just cease to exist. its surprises me how many people believe that. I just can't imagine that life on earth is all there is, that after it, there is nothing. It is my opinion that when we die, even though our physical bodies are gone, our spiritual bodies are sent to the spiritual world, or heaven.

thx for listening, but you guys probably all think im crazy

For years now I've been pretty sold on the idea of "ceasing to exist." Recently though, my curiosity has been caught by the phenomenon of near-death experiences (NDE). In particular, some academic studies, as well as a number of anecdotal reports, have documented near-death experiences in which the patients are conscious during clinical death (ie. flat EEG; no brain activity). This challenges the traditional understanding that consciousness is completely dependent on the brain.[1][2]

More research is required before we can know for sure, but it definitely is an interesting topic. The experience itself (e.g. almost always a complete loss of fear of death) is fascinating!

In any case, whether life after death involves something else entirely, or nothing at all, I'm willing to accept either fate with open arms. They both sound pretty good to me!

As a naturalist, ya, I'd say the only thing left of us after we die is going to be six feet under.

Fullmetal Alchemist, you will be missed. A great ending to a great series.

I would like to believe that we go into another body, a baby before birth... But as there are more babies being born than people dieing I think that is very unlikely... Maybe small animals and small plants become humans and likewise... I want to be be a daffodil <3:

I usually tell myself nothing, but then I confuse myself thinking about what nothing is.

BEing nothing just doesn't make sense to me.

So then I just reckon we live everyones lives, when we die we live the life of the person born after you, and so on...And after you've lived everyones lives something happens, Havn't thought about that part yet :P

I want to believe (Xfiles <3) there's an afterlife. I just can't bring myself to believe it though, I expect life is just repeated with, of course, no knowledge and for all you know it's your first. Sad, but it's the most believeable to me.

I'm not entirely sure what would happen, but Im seriously hoping for reincarnation (Sp?) as it is a scary thought thinking that once you die, you are just trapped in a black nothing-ness alone, forever...

I would love to be able to live another live while simultaneously remembering my past life, that would be so cool.

I believe there is some sort of afterlife, not going to try to guess what it is like but if there is nothing after death then life has no meaning.

also what someone said a while back, I never realized that reincarnation could keep number balance due to other planets

So the black death caused an increase in the Martian population! I knew it.

I believe in the afterlife. Although I don't believe in reincarnation, I'd think it'd be pretty cool if it happened.

tip it would pay me $500.00 to keep my clothes ON :(
But then again, you fail to realize that 101% of the people in this universe hate you. Yes, humankind's hatred against you goes beyond mathematical possibilities.
That tears it. I'm starting an animal rebellion using my mind powers. Those PETA bastards will never see it coming until the porcupines are half way up their asses.

Well, I saw an interesting theory about how after a finite time, the big boom will be the collapse of the universe, destroying everything made by the big bang. The theory then goes on to state the big bang will happen again, kinda of like if you push water from end of the bath tub down, thats the world growing as it reaches the limit, it gets pushed back and collapses the world. It then reverses again to where it grows. The theorist beleives these events will continue to happen and people will continue to live the same life over and over and over without ever realising it.

Oh my god.

Can you believe this theory? Living the same life over and over again? I have found a new thing to obsess about.

I can't go on like that. I can't repeat the same life. I can't understand it. I just can't. Or, actually, I don't want to. I don't want to understand it. But I do.

I have no idea what happens after death. I have absolutely no idea. After reading about the theory sonerohi posted, I want to pray to any god up there that this idea doesn't happen.

We have absolutely no idea what happens. You're not allowed to be sure of an idea. Well, you really can't be. Whenever you find comfort in an idea about what happens after death, it is a false comfort, because it could be wrong. Nobody wants to live life stressing about what happens after death, but it's a hell of a thing.

Thinking about beings, thinking about the concept of life and the idea that we live and die, thinking about what is and what exists, thinking about what is reality, thinking about all of this really makes me want to believe that there's a god somewhere who will always love us and send us to a happy place when we die.

I actually find comfort in that theory. The theory that does scare me is the one about if you stopped existing completely. I would like it if I were trapped in my own world for eternity - it's my reason for making the best of things. Sure, we'll have to relive those bad times again but we'd also get to relive the good ones too. Plus I don't think you would even remember anything from your last life.

But like you said, we'll never know until it happens.

I think calling it a theory is giving it too much credit. Even if time was constantly repeating, I see no reason why everything would turn out the same.
