Yomyth105
Why doesn't runescape advertise more? Now u notice that jagex is missing alot of players. For example, why do other mmorpgs have so much more players. the other day i saw my younger brother watching his kiddie shows when pirates of the carribean online pops up. the commercial easily convinces him to make a new account, which he doesnt know how to  Im not going to waste ur time by going into detail but the point is why doesnt jagex advertise? they have the money to invest in? why dont they do it? im pretty sure making a few commercials can bring in customers which is cash  maybe they do advertise here and there but seriously. if they just make a couple of commercials on kiddie channels in america they will have so many customers
No_99_Melee
Idk us as a consumer advertise for them constantly. I've convinced at least 5 people to play. They're too cool for commercials 8-)
Laura
They do advertise. But I don't think they are at the appropriate time or level to advertise on TV or billboards.

Makoto_the_Phoenix
Word-of-mouth does a lot more for Jagex and RuneScape than some high-priced advertisement. Brinner
but people just talking about it can spread word fast, everyone I know has played it, although mainly hate it. :-# Hehe I played Pirates of the Carribean Online when it was still in beta, the free stuff isn't that great last I checked. Makoto_the_Phoenix
You wouldnt be running around telling everyone to play runescape would you?  I have no reason to tell these people to play this game, but since I'm a programming student, at the very least, I can show them how powerful JOGL is. Whether or not they decide to play is up to them. Armadyllo
They've been turning up in a LOT more gaming magazines recently. They also went and demonstrated RuneScape at the E3 convention and some show in Germany. Plus there've been online articles too. I dunno how effective that is for reaching new players. Probably not very effective at all, to be honest. But they're becoming better known in their industry, which should help them with staff recruitment and commercial alliances. mervinator_9
I agree with what some people said that jagex probaly isnt on a level to start advertise irl on buses and billboards, but i dont see why there shouldnt be alittle more advertisement on the web for it, I must admit ive never seen an advert for Rs, neither has anyone i know who plays, it just seems to get spread through word of mouth for the most part, Theres a fine line between not listening and not caring,I like to think I walk this line every day. Pinning blame on Jagex is like trying to put pants on an old man. You both know he needs them, but he'll just keep dancing around, avoiding them at all costs. BloodArgon
They already do this. You know all those whining about mini-clip generation, or the addictinggames generation, kongregate? Not to mention these are all silly ideas, but, they advertise in that way, putting the game on many other sites. And since everyone wines about a influx of noobs into the game, your already proving this advertising strategy works. 99 Crafting :: 39,750th || 99 Attack :: 1,775th
pryomancer
Before like 2 years ago, RuneScape's popularity was spread only through word-of-mouth, which is something they were proud of. Now they advertise on miniclip, addictinggames etc. Plus when they win industry awards and are at E3 etc, that's not exactly discrete.

krisc6
Y'know what RS needs to advertise, some random GWD runner going into Saradomins area and just grinding on mobs to some euro remix, prefferably tiesto and then the title runescape with a tagline using windows movie maker defaults just to give the real impression as to what the game is like. Nightsword
For you new people... I remember when there was 2 servers with about 350 people on each of them....Now look at runescape. Yomyth105
i came from 06 as well and believe it or not but i came from miniclip as well. We understand that Jagex started at 1 computer in a basement and has a few offices but that is really how any successful business begins. They got so many ppl in 06 and well runescape just doesnt seem like their getting more customers. i know i might get flamed at this, but id say they r just losing customers because of all the pkers gone and those veterans finally quiting. u dont see too many new accounts being made each day. take many lower levels and chances r high that they r some kind of pure or another account which has a main. i like helping newbs finding their way in rs. so i take one from lumby and show them around and explain things and now i just cant even do that. i think its time to go to the next step for them. they r successful but every company is looking for more improvement and more MONEY
