It does get very annoying when it feels like you can't say anything because you think that everyone will make a stupid sick joke out of it. I wish everyone would just defragment they're brains. They could use some cleaning up.

For your case maybe, but from my experiences, juniors and seniors can be just as immature as the average 5 year old.

 

 

 

For all dealings of idiocy, I usually reply in monotone, showing absolutely no emotion. They may find the monotone speaking to be humorous, but it gets old for them fast and they'll move on to the next poor victim that hasn't been massively overdosed with testosterone.

 

 

 

Just today, a student I know wanted to tell a story involving porn to a girl. Sure some guys might find it humorous, but seriously, if your going to be an idiot, torture your own gender. :wall:

What I would do to make some people in my class magically grow up.

I don't encounter it very often, so I actually found your friend's reply quite funny. As long as it's used appropriately and sparingly I can have a good chuckle at a "so's your face!" or a "that's what your mum said!".

I assume this thread in general refers to the school environment (most people 'really' grow up at least by age 25 and stop being little kids)... Well I wouldn't know about Australia, but nordic countries/Europe in general... And I spent my early school years in the States..

 

 

 

American modern culture (of the youth) is by definition arrogant and ignorant. There is some diseased obsession with humiliation, sex, appearances... And it's pretty sickening, wouldn't want to raise a kid there right now... Don't think you're going to encounter the same phenomena in other countries, even nearly to the same degree.

But we were talking about rods and cones (eye nerve connective things in the retina) today and the jokes were flying thick and fast. "Hurr, id subsect my rod to you, if you know what I mean", "If you were a nerve connecting you would be a cone because you take 4 at a time."

Don't worry, most of the group will grow out of it by the time their 16. The rest of them are doomed to making "funny" sexual innuendos for the rest of their life, because they can't think of anything amusing and relative to insert into the conversation.

 

After that, "That's what she said" will be just said maybe once or twice a week as a filler when a conversation suddenly dies.

It seems it's just a phase, as someone else already said. I remember such jokes in my class like 3-4 years ago, but right now most of our class has grown out of that attitude. I'm not saying we're all mature, but non of us would tell those jokes now.

So we're sitting there, the teacher's like [bleep] means fat. So after that we have some five minutes of pure laughter, even the teacher.

 

Also in German class today, she made two kids (boy and girl) go up front and tango to a song... Anyway, she was showing them how to tango and she says 'are you ready to do it?' to the girl, who didn't know how to tango. Everybody starts laughing again, and the teacher apologizes profusely to the girl.

 

Needless to say, German is the best class for numerous reasons. :lol:

'rr' is rolled. 'rr' is not the same letter as 'r'. if you're going to try to rebuke what im saying, then at least be grammatically correct.

i wont argue past this point, as i know i am correct and it makes no difference to me whether or not you mispronounce words. any argument past this one is simply devoid from the topic, so i will not respond.
