I was talking to some people while fishing in Karamja for swordfish. Some one said remember when Runescape had the wildy? About 50% of the people there responded, "yes."

 

 

 

I started playing right after Easter in the year 2007. I was very nooby to say and I never stopped playing. I remember when 500gp was the equivalent of 500k. It was a very fun experience and I was very naive at first. I started to level then my friends told me to change my name to my nickname. Which I still don't regret doing til this date. I was going to be a skiller. Which on my other account I messed up on big time. My stats were all in disarray. So as I played on Jeffyroth for a long time I got smarter and less trust worthy of other players. So I also asked my friends what I should do. 7 of them have already quit by the end of '07 because they played Guild Wars or WoW. They gave me hints and that improved my knowledge. Then I remember going into the wilderness for no apparent reason. I was hoping not to be killed like I usually did. I clicked on a player and noticed that the "attack" option was gone. The Wildy was gone. I, with my record breaking kill count of 0 and killed count of 50+, didn't really care. Other people rioted and I walked away. Trade limit came out. Which before that everyone relied on the unknown source of This is 500k and that is 200k. Then the GE came out. I thought it was a gift from god. I still remember the setup of the Varrok west bank trading area. Bones to the west, Trimmed non-metals to the north along with rares. Trimmed metals to the northeast, and scammers along the edges. B-sales in the bank along with many other items. So much organization with no help. Runescape was an unwritten rule. Then macros were gone, I'm not 100% sure were or when in the time line but I think it was with the removal of pking. The trade limit and the GE came into effect. Swarms of people were there the first day. So Jagex had put an unwritten rule into a book of laws.

 

 

 

As I continued to talk to to the people we all brought up our favorite memories and stories. I said I remembered when G mauls were 100k and power ammies were 10k. Somethings were very expensive and others were dirt cheap.

Ha, I would die for those prices. I remember when bones were 1gp in a general store. Those were the good old days. Now, Look at the GE. Where is the organization? people are everywhere selling items in no order.

"No 10k!"

 

 

 

Now its 2k and you can do nothing about it. When I look back I see the good old days with scammers, macros, the people who said, "go to ~~~~~~.com 100mill for $10",and the good people that anyways helped out a poor noob. Now everyone thrives by themselves. Finding a friend here and there who is helpful. If you were a new addition to the Runescape and Tip.it community you may have know complete understanding of what I just typed up. But the ones do will always have that little memory of theirs that will never leave them. So Think of that little memory and post it. Bring back the once frequent joy and bring us out of this different world.

But i really miss those days of real trading who cares about scammers? so what? ive lost 5 mill+ towards them but it made my account stronger, it made me know not to do stupid stuff again.

I agree. All of those things made us "older" players are much stronger. Someone looses 5k and cries. I lost 100k and I never traded something without a second opinion until I knew the general price.

Unfortunately I was away at the time, so I missed the transfer stuff between accounts thing and got stuck with the new one... Ah well, given what happened with classic being members only and having the accounts deleted, probably a good thing.

I don't reminisce about the game as a whole as much as I reminisce about my personal feelings. I remember how excited I was when I got my first set of full rune and when I got my first 50 skill.

 

 

 

I think we change much more than Runescape does.

I remember when I first joined tip.it, ahh so long ago -.-

I remember my first dragon chain drop when they were still around 35 mil. It was honestly one of the most exciting moments of my RS career.

I remember when Phats went for under 10m each :/ I also remember the first time I bought a Santa Hat for 250k.

I miss wandering around lumbridge killing goblins and selling their goblin armor which i think i collected like 13 of then killed men.

 

But what i will miss most is how nice players were, a lvl 126 came up to me and asked if i needed help with anything and i said how do i make money?
