October 8, 200817 yr Woah, I weigh more than mumm_ra :D I like my healthy size 10. I'm not really in to skinny guys. I'd prefer them if they had a bit of muscle or chubbiness in them. It find that cute the thing is, i've got some muscle, not like ripped or anything, but the definition is there. it's like my body eats the fat and adds tiny bits of arm muscle over time from lifting stuff that weighs as much as i do at work, lol. i don't get it. October 8, 200817 yr I think I may do a study on this at some point. I always thought it was just teenage metabolism, but from what I've seen the average male teenage gamer/internet person thingy seems to be dramatically underweight, regardless of eating habits. Maybe it's because the average male teenage gamer/internet person thingy doesn't lift weights, but metabolizes fast enough to eliminate most fat, resulting in no excess muscle or fat to add to ones total weight... I shall test this hypothesis, and see where it goes :o. Wow, if this is true, I will give you a cookie, can i be one of the examples? Luck be a Lady

I was actually going to comment on that too, a good deal of the people here seem underweight... :? I'm something like 5'4, 90 (Hopefully heavier by now...) pounds... -.- It's a mix of fast metabolism and not eating that much. October 8, 200817 yr You are underweight for your height Your BMI is 16.5If your BMI is less than 18.4 you are underweight for your height. Are you eating enough calories every day? People who are underweight may be at risk from health problems, including loss of bone density, malnutrition and irregular periods (women). However, you may be naturally slim and will not need to change your eating habits. Right... I need to get shorter -.- Luck be a Lady
October 8, 200817 yr I'm 5"8 and barely 115 pounds, if that much. Lost a lot of weight recently, almost all fat. My upper legs look like they have massive tumors into them. But, I like a relatively average girl. I'm not particularly attracted to girls on the heavier or the much lighter side. I doubt girls would be attracted to guys on the extremes of either scale, either. catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream

October 8, 200817 yr I've got to say, I don't think I could ever date a "heavy" girl. I have nothing against them, but I work to keep my body looking good so I like a girl who puts in a little effort to keep herself looking good. Anorexic skinny isn't my style, but I like a girl who's thin. Internet Marketing For Newbies
October 9, 200817 yr I'm at the top end of an "ideal" BMI according to that calculator. I'm not surprised though. I can play sports well, but it's not as if I'm completely free of fat. Hell, I could do with replacing a bit of fat with muscle. Especially on my upper-body, my power is all in my legs. There's no such thing as regret. A regret means you are unhappy with the person you are now,and if you're unhappy with the person you are, you change yourself. Thatregret will no longer be a regret, because it will help to form the new, better you. So really, a regret isn't a regret. It's experience.

I should probably do something about that. Cool.
October 9, 200817 yr 188cm and 75 kilograms, I hate anorexic women and men who find themselves "hot", because they lack fat and muscle tissue, I also hate fat men who think they are "though" because they look so big. I'm attracted to normal weight girls because that's the way you are SUPPOSED to be, not too skinny or obese.

A fat person can't run fast away from a predator and thus he is useless to the contunation of humanity. But we're such in a technology-filled world that we don't have to worry about that. So in the case of attractingness, its human nature so at the same time it's also human nature to be as fit as you can be to survive. Thus why several people perfer skinny girls over fat ones, at a first-glace-judgement-look. "The cry of the poor is not always just, but if you never hear it you'll never know what justice is."

October 9, 200817 yr The OP is a bunch of bull, complaining a over a whole bunch of nothing. The snide remarks direct at her friend sound more like jealousy than a complain about her not being fat enough. How many people actually gets insulted for being fit and healthy. If you're freakishly thin the insults fly your way just as often if you're really fat. Personally I have never seen anyone getting heckled for dating a skinny person. The point about wanting to gain weight but unable to is valid though, people generally look at you strange when you tell them that, personally I'd just tell them to go check for worms. On another note, posting an article without providing the link annoys me.

October 9, 200817 yr I used to be a skinny girl. I could eat as much as I wanted, and I just didn't put on weight. I used to go to the hospital for it, but they never found out why. People were always saying your so skinny, it's so unfair. Now, I have put on a bit of weight mostly because my hormones changed and my metabolism changed. I have put on a bit of weight, not much, but I am more curvy. I sort of feel ashamed of my curves because when I mention, oh I've put on a bit too much weight I think I need to get some of it off, all my friends are like, no way, your so skinny, don't be ridiculous, because I was once like that. They don't realise I have changed. I now feel that I am fatter than I actually am. My Mam is always telling me, there is a lot worse than you, and that is very true, but I feel asahamed that I have put the weight on. Everyone has different opinions on what they think everyone should look like. If your parents at home spend all day being critical of skinny models, you are probably going to criticize them too. Peer pressure as a child and the people we are surrounded by make our opinions, and once an opinion has been formed, it is very hard in your day to day life to not hold that opinion.
October 9, 200817 yr Rain, maybe it's idealism that you see yourself trying to fit into that mold? I was going to eat hot dogs for dinner tonight. I think I will settle for cereal. OPEN WIDE HERE COMES THE HELICOPTER.
October 9, 200817 yr What's the weight of a stone? Lol I'm messed up since I'm used to metric, but I only know my height and weight in imperial and never heard of stones :wall: Wouldn't the world be better if we just moved to metric? Because counting in twelves and fourteens is so much better than tens, obviously. OK, there's twelve inches to a foot. 5" is about 150cm, so each foot is around about 30cm, meaning each inch is about 2.5cm (rounded down, it's actually 2.54cm). As for weight, here's a converter, but there's fourteen pounds to a stone, and 8 stone is about 50kg (slightly more, actually, but we'll round down), so each stone is about 6.25 kilos, making it 2.2 pounds to every kilo. Rain, so long as you're healthy and you can still go through everyday life without any physical difficulty, you're fit and you've nothing to worry about. I would imagine every NFL player is technically overweight, but they're not technically unfit because they can still play a game of football. In fact, many would argue they need that weight to play effectively. Being overweight =/= being unfit. They are two completely different terms. Same goes for being underweight, although that's more of a worry because the symptoms aren't as obvious as the symptoms for being overweight. | Favourite Game Music | Last.fm | HYT Friend Chat Rules |
October 9, 200817 yr Another real issue is that the so-called ideal figure is physically practically impossible to attain for the average woman. I'm talking about barbie: extremely long legs, skinny waist, huge breasts. Apparently, men adore big boobs, but don't want the curvier behinds and bellies that usually go with them. So curvy women get stressed out because their legs are too short and their waists too fat. Skinny women get stressed out because they have good legs/waists but small breasts. I myself am in the latter category (though my BMI is slowly on the rise to a healthy 20), and it has taken a few of my teenager years to accept this and to be proud of my body, which is in perfect natural balance. There are always women who are an exception to the rule, of course, but usually, when you see a skinny woman with a C- or D-cup, you may safely assume she had a few operations to set things 'right'.

October 9, 200817 yr Random fact (No, definitely not copying you here Reb)...The English unit for mass is a slug. And the metric unit for weight is actually a Newton. At least I think it is. Wasn't really paying attention that day in Physics. My BMI is something like 15.2, kind of (...really) low. A year or two ago, I was okay, at the very low end of normal/healthy. But I hit my growth spurt, now I'm a few inches taller and didn't gain any weight to compensate for that. I'm sure I'll catch up eventually...
