Have Jagex fixed it?

Well, late last year, RuneScape was a disaster, I'm sure everyone will agree. Pking was abolished, trades were capped, and the quality of updates were declining. This year, it seems Jagex have put a lot of effort into their updates, most of which were very good, such as HD Graphics, Summoning, Clan Wars Updates, PvP Worlds, High Level Quests, New Boss Monsters like the Corporeal Beast, New Mini-Games etc. While I agree, the old wildy was great, and capped trades were horrible. Yet at the same time, The Grand Exchange is great, and while it's not perfect, I don't think anyone can say they enjoyed continuously typing "Buying whip 1.2m" over and over again.

 

 

 

Jagex have tried with the updates, and while PvP Worlds will never be the same as the wildy, they are still great. Do you think Jagex have done enough to "fix" RuneScape back to the state it was before the drop and trade updates, or do you still think they have a long way to go? Also, do you prefer RuneScape before, or how it is now?

RS was dieing anyway, the Wilderness was giving RS a bad name to begin with so yeh, I think it's pretty much solved now.

I think every game is much more exciting from the eyes of a newbie.

 

Very few updates will actually do much to catch the attention of us longer-playing folk.

 

 

 

In my opinion, there was nothing to fix. And these updates are a mere distraction.

Of course I prefer RuneScape as it is now. Before with RWT's hold on RuneScape and its economy, a lot of things were ruined. Of course, we got used to it, and don't realize the fact that it's actually been fixed now rather than broken. I say JAGeX has improved the game for the better, despite unbalanced trade removal and the removal of old fashioned wildy pking. I'm sure this game will only get better, just think about that 150th quest that's coming out...

I would say it's fixed ... after all there's many more ways to PK and it's even easier for those welfare PKers.

I would like it if there was one f2p and one p2p pking world which incorporated the three rounds rule, but anyways yeah jagex did a good job. After about another week once all the one itemers realise they won't be getting any godswords with just their dds I will start pking again.

They fixed it. Of course, they now control the economy, but it's pretty much been patched up. I, however, still don't like it as much as I used to. Every single update has some catch to prevent RWTs and it seems like they get more and more commercial each month.

Jagex didn't actually do much this year. There was a lot of filler updates. Out of all the updates only summoning, corporeal beast, and HD were any good.

Um, Runescape has never been better in terms of keeping cheaters out of the game as it is now...but it's definitely not a better game than it was from rsc to rs2 and then from a year after rs2 to a year before rwt updates....

 

 

 

rsc was by far the best of runescape. No miniclip, there were autoers but they wern't goldfarmers, instead just nerdy kids who thought it was fun to program cheats for the game. Pking was the best it ever was...and now it sucks royally...Pking has turned into a high risk monster drop system.

I think runescape used to be better, but jagex has returned it to as best as possible with out letting rwt start up again.

I think they've fixed it now, but in my opinion they should have released PvP worlds before or at the same time as getting rid of the wilderness.

Runescape was better in Classic/04-05-06, now it's just wrecked lol, they can do things all they want, but it'll never be the same ;).

Runescape is both fixed, and more damaged than ever.

 

As a business they are fine, from a players point of view, I argue that Runescape died a long time ago, hence my quitting.

 

Jagex' best efforts to fix the damage they did last year are a little late.

Also I don't agree 2007 was a disaster, I never pked, the trade limits were introduced in 2008 (2nd of january 2008) and staking was replaced somewhat with GWD.

i was and never will be a good pker so this is a great rs for me :

 

if i feel like killing someone i can go clan wars or 1 item in pvp worlds :D

 

to make it perfect we need a safe pvp world just for fun :

 

oh and i do miss staking :( i was always a decent staker using ancient magics and ahrims to own those stupid 80 magic pures with there sara staffs :twisted:

Back in January things were a mess. It wasn't easy to get an income and monster hunting was ridiculous, you couldn't split drops and all pkers had decided that monster hunting was the next best thing. I can only assume things are much better now, right?

Staking should never be replaced.

 

 

 

How is it fair that you can double your money in a single match?

 

All it takes is stats and a little bit of know-how, and you can turn 500M into 1000M, with little to no effort.

I can't say it's completely fixed, but Jagex have done a splendid job of reviving their game from certain doom. Honestly, I'm impressed. Although it's certain they will eventually run out of ideas, RS is good to go for another few years. :thumbup:

 

 

 

Now if only they could fix all the damn bugs in the game, then I'd be really happy. Most urgently the GE progress bars are not showing in HD. Why hasn't it been fixed, with HD being out for a long time now!? :roll:

One more thing. RANDOMS. They should be removed. It was promised moths ago. If they did remove them, it would make Runescape a far better place. That's one of the things that need to go before it is fixed.
