Yomyth105
Today in school, my friends asked me if i liked this girl. I said no, then he asked why. I explained that i wasn't really attracted to indian girls. He then called me a racist jokingly (not harshly). Then i tried to defend myself. Just because im not attracted to a person doesnt mean im a racist. does it? I asked someone else and they said it was being racist. I tried to defend myself and say that if i am not attracted to men does that necessarily mean i am necessarily a homophobe? So anyways, Do you think that this was racism? Not really, it's personal preference. If you were racist, you would've said worse. I was going to eat hot dogs for dinner tonight. I think I will settle for cereal. pryomancer
I don't find many black women attractive, or really lots of other races too. It's just personal preference, although of course there are definitely exceptions.

Being racist is when you bully/harass them because they're of a certain ethnic background or if you feel a hate towards them. Personally, I'm not attracted African-American/Indian women either. However, I can talk to them without having any racist feelings.

The Observer
No. People always go "ZOMG RACIST" to anything :\ I've found that too. :P Mostly it's just jokingly when the gym teacher/other teacher mentions the word "black"or "white", but that's more of immaturity talking. #-o
Will H
Racism is more of a negative thing, where you express dislike for someone because of their background. This is more neutral, so I'd say it's not racist but could potentially be. To be honest, you shouldn't have to justify who you are and who you're not attracted to anyway. ~ W ~
NoMoreDead
Nope. You can't be attracted to someone by force. If you're not attracted to them, you're not attracted to them.

magekillr
Nope, it's not racism. I think it's kind of a pig-headed thing to say that you're not attracted to a specific race in a blanketed statement, but it's not racist at all.

Star_Fox
hey i don't find myself attracted to Indian girls too. it's fine if you don't think they're pretty but it's not ok if you think all indian girls aren't pretty or that'd pretty much be a stereotype. :P
megakiller32
Someone has to just say bluntly here, and lucky me, I get the be the guy. It wouldn't be racist to say, "No, i'm not attracted to indians" It would be racist to go "HELL NO, I HATE THOSE CURRY EATIN' STINKBAGS!" I would like to take this oppurtunity, I am not racist, i'm so liberal I make Barack Obama's Change campaign look like "keep it the same, everything is fine" campaign. People usually have natural attractions to others of similar racial groups. As a matter of fact I'm not particularly attracted to people of Asian or African descent, but that doesn't mean that I think I'm better than them. Remember, racism is a belief that you are superior to another racial group with an emphasis on somehow dehumanizing them. Personal attractions aren't racist at all. urbestfreind
To each his own. I don't think its racist at all. As long as you didn't actually mention something racist relating to that, than you are fine. We all have our preferences. Just because I don't like thrash metal doesn't mean I think Slayer are horrible people. (Hope I got that genre right). Same thing with your homophobe example. Everyone will have their preferences. Did you ask them if they prefer all races equally? Because chances are they have a race or group they don't like either. [hide=Funny Quotes]So you sucker punched a kid in the back of the head? warren211
I'm an Indian guy but am more attracted to white girls than girls of my own race. Does that mean my love is forbidden, my life is a mistake, and I'm better off at the bottom of the sea with a large weight tied to my feet than to live the life I do now? Maybe in some more conservative communities and ancient civilizations, yes. But I don't live in those places. I don't see anything wrong with having different tastes in dates. Racism is bringing negativity to a certain race. All you're saying is you prefer not to date people of a certain race. [hide=]tip it would pay me $500.00 to keep my clothes ON :( :lol:But then again, you fail to realize that 101% of the people in this universe hate you. Yes, humankind's hatred against you goes beyond mathematical possibilities. That tears it. I'm starting an animal rebellion using my mind powers. Are we all afraid of being called racist nowadays? :wall: You'd be surprised on what people could call you racist for in my country. Example, you can't sing the national-tune at some schools, because it's deemd "racist". Example two, if you're wearing a t-shirt with the national flag you wouldn't be surprised if someone calls you a racist. The country i'm talking about? The country that gets worse for every day that goes by - Sweden. And no, it's not racist to not like indian girls.
