USMC_24788
Well I went to a school at a community college. I couldn't pay the tuition at the time. So i've waited until now about 6 months. They added on 600 dollars roughly. 100 dollars a month late fee. It was 1,200 Dollars, but now it's 1,800 Dollars. Anyone know if I can get that lowered from the fees or do I have to pay all of it now? Should I try going to the school to see if I can only pay 1,200? stevepole
You probably should have thought about this 6 months ago? seriously. I highly doubt that your going to be able to get rid of your late fees, its a cost you have to pay. The best answer is to contact the school directly. Adam007
Did you come here for empathy? We're not lawyers, we don't know your legal options. It sounds like you knew what you were getting into, so I don't see how you can act like you were a victim to whatever happened.

USMC_24788
Why do you think i'm looking for sympathy. Also I didn't know they could just put fees on you. I should have paid that one first. I decided to start paying the fee from the school I am in now. I didn't sign anything. I just took the classes. I'm just looking for any information anyone can give.
Wongtong
I think you're going to have to pay the late fees.. because: "They added on 600 dollars roughly. 100 dollars a month late fee." It's a late fee, I don't think they will be lenient with your case (unless you have an excrutiatingly good reason why you couldn't pay, eg your house with all your money burnt down). Try borrowing some money off your parents? Or maybe you could get a loan? 8,180WONGTONG IS THE BEST AND IS MORE SUPERIOR THAN ME#1 Wongtong stalker.Im looking for some No Limit soldiers! Ginger_Warrior
There must be some sort of advice available? They'll fight your corner. From the sounds of it though, you really haven't got a leg to stand on, unless you can somehow prove the late fees are unfair. :| | Favourite Game Music | Last.fm | HYT Friend Chat Rules |
nine naked men
I agree with the OP; you're screwed. Start mooching off your mates and parents for loans, or go on the run to Mexico. sleep like dead men wake up like dead men

USMC_24788
There was no fine print. I just took the classes. They should at least tell you this. I didn't think it would be a big deal which one I paid off first.
Zonorhc
I'm sure there were administrative forms which you filled in before taking classes, or at least some other kind of literature for prospective students. You should probably have read those a little more closely. warren211
There's no way they would just throw fines at you. I'm fairly certain its illegal to charge a person on fines they were not told about. Obviously a major school is not going to scam it's students so easily when they would make more money off you in the long run if you stay in the school. So you must have missed something. If I were you I'd start working an extra job or two and see what you can mooch from others to get past this. [hide=]tip it would pay me $500.00 to keep my clothes ON :( :lol:But then again, you fail to realize that 101% of the people in this universe hate you. Yes, humankind's hatred against you goes beyond mathematical possibilities. That tears it. I'm starting an animal rebellion using my mind powers. Da_Latios
If he signed no contracts... technically he shouldn't have to pay for anything, correct? You should probably have read those a little more closely. Yea, you could probably go to them and ask why you were charged the extra $600 and they should tell you. Maybe then you could work out some payment plan or something. IMO, it was pretty idiotic to let it get to this point, though. When you first knew you couldn't pay you should've told them and tried to work something out. Damn expensive lesson. If he signed no contracts... technically he shouldn't have to pay for anything, correct? He must have signed something, because I doubt any school would let their students attend with a verbal promise to pay.
dragoonson
You get fees every month right? How can six months of fees go unnoticed?Additionally, there would be the late fees of the previous month on the current month's fees. How do you miss 6 letters? You definitely signed something without reading, hell the library tells you if there would be late fees. Regardless, you should man up and pay everything you owe.You don't pay half the loan you take from a bank because you "only borrowed $1000". so i herd u liek devarts? If you look at me and feel offended by my 666-ism,think.I could be just as offended by your "cross".[hide=This's why I'm hot]The Eleventh Commandment:Thou Shalst only say "Amen, brother".Amen, brother :lol:Amen, brudda (referring to the 10th commandment)amen Bruder! Will H
'fraid so. Unless it wasn't in any contract that you signed with the school (which I severely doubt), you have to pay it. I suggest getting a loan. ~ W ~
