26th November 2008 - Thanksgiving 2008 Event

Featured Replies

I just had fun running around looking for the hidden turkeys. :thumbsup: It's an interesting twist with holiday events, and I wouldn't mind seeing more major holidays added on to that (like Lunar New Year for example, which is actually celebrated world wide as it is based on the lunar calendar... and please don't start with me about how only Chinese people celebrate that because they're not the only ones who celebrate that >_<;).

Then you wouldnt Like "Australian Drop-Bear Day". them things will just come out of no-where then BAM! your wallets gone.

i think its good to celebrate Other Countries celebrations, gives us all a unity and understanding of each country's different lifes and celebrations. ::'

(Watch Out For Them Drop Bears!)

I can see it now:

G'day mates! We know ya brave explorers love ta explore the outback, but watch out! In the next week you'll have ta watch out for a beaut of a monster: the Drop-Bear. These clever beasties climb up trees and when an unsuspectin' drongo walks below, they drop down on them, crushin' the spine and eatin' the body! So don't forget the vegemite and watch out for them Drop Bears!

And after that they can celebrate Dia de Chupacapra.

If the CORPORAL beast is this hard, imagine how hard a GENERAL or COLONEL beast would be. a corporal is not even an admirable rank in armies that use that ranking system.

Yeah, it is a pking minigame, so any arguments anybody makes will probably be biased.

The best way this will end :Everybody just says,"I'm not arguing with you anymore, goodbye."

The worst way this will end: I don't really know, psychological warfare? Worldwide thermonuclear war? Pie eating contest?

I logged on, didn't attack a single turkey and had a cornucopia in my inventory and the new emote. -.-

Putting turkeys this big in a small space... not a good idea. Rather weird for one thing and also... floating turkey, wtf!?

MR. OCTOPUS BEARD DISAGREES!

I cant use a chair, evidence that Lucien's men are sitting on them.
Haha this was pretty fun. Its best to do it with range just incase its crowded around you... Btw it took me like 40 turkey kills to finally get it lol. And I really don't see why people have to argue over if Jagex does any new events. Im american, but I wouldn't care if we did some Iraq holiday either... Its free items :thumbsup:

I kind of wish Jagex would continue to have these mini-holiday events for various holidays from across the world. Chinese New Year, anyone? A dragon mask sounds pretty cool...

Or pi day! Or mole day! (The chemistry term, not the animal. Mole day is celebrated at 6:02 in the morning of October 23rd)

Of course, perhaps only 1, 2 or 3 of these mini-events per year...that is a dang long list.^^

ROFL @ Jagex celebrating Thanksgiving. Now I've lived through all that's worth living for. ::'

Check out my Pocket Slot idea!

Apparently they're fixing a bug.

Go to w83 south of falador and you'll find a few hundreds of them.

Apparently there was some kind of bug or something so the cook's brother and all the hidden turkeys were removed but killable turkeys can be found on w84...i almost thought i missed the event, what a relief would've been the first event ive missed since i started playing #-o

Pretty short hoilday event but i guess thats fair enough, its not like we had a poll or any real hype up to it.

The horn of plenty isnt awesome, Id rather have a useless piece of novelty clothing tbh, but i guess theres some people out there who will find a use for it.

Theres a fine line between not listening and not caring,

I like to think I walk this line every day.

Pinning blame on Jagex is like trying to put pants on an old man.

You both know he needs them, but he'll just keep dancing around, avoiding them at all costs.

I can confirm that turkey spying is still down on some worlds, but it seams to be working on world 141.

Turkeys are going to invade!!!

[hide=before maur]turkeyinvadedn5.png[/hide]

[hide=after maur]turkeyinvade2fy0.png[/hide]

Jagex patched the glitch where the cook's brother and the spy-able turkey's kept disappearing without bringing the servers down, unfortunately this seams to have caused hundreds of turkey's to spawn at each location. It literally looks like an invasion.

Haha... This is awesome! When I got on earlier Turkeys were everywhere... And btw idk if they fixed it yet or not but on w34 in fallys general store there was a turkey that responded like a split second after you killed it lol.

It's Thursday of the Turkeys, the newest horror film by Alfred Hitchcock, with the same plot as The Birds. Only this time with a twist! Incapable of flight, these weighty birds crush their prey under their vast weight- what a way to go!
