Woofkittens
hi im dume dude 56 to make a short post about hyt'ing other tif'ers. Well when ever i see a tif'er *a purple dot/green dot* i always say hi/hyt to them, but, what about christmas? do we say: MCYT*merry christmas you tif'er* or new year?:HNYT *guess that one for yourself.... :twss:* or easter? HEYT this is quite confusing do we continue to say what we have been saying for ages or do we change it for special occaisions? i have no idea so i was wondering if you *the tif'ers* could decide. Help me decide if we say HYT or MCYT,HNYT or HEYT on special occaisions? Dume Dude 56, P.S i know my spellings bad i just woke up. :| Proud Owner Of The Quest CapeProud Owner Of The Attack CapeProud Owner Of The Defence Cape Dragon Drops: 1 Shield Left Half, 2 Dragon Claws, 10 Dragon Platelegs, 4 Dragon Medium Helmets GWD Drops: Gs shard 1: 3 times GS Shard 2: Nil GS shard 3: 2 times 1 Bandos Tassets, 1 Bandos Hilt 1 Bandos Boots, Armadyl Hilt, 3 Saradomin swords Misc: Ranger boots, Dragonic Visage, Guthix bow,
@Dan3HitU
It should just be "HT" aka; Hi, Tipiter/Tipper. But for some reason it's Hi you tipiter, which doesn't even make sense. Low C
I usually use the greeting to show someone I've seen them around on the forums before and it usually starts somewhat of a conversation. If you wanna say merry christmas to a tifer why not just say hello merry x mas btw hyt.
aznmidget448
Lol, I thought it was "Hey you, tip.iter." Did this phrase come around during the time where we picked the tip.it cape which i never wear? :D MCYT! I like it :P

Smavey
This phrase come way back from before there was tif actually - for scapeboarders. I can't remember the acronym we used but it was something like HYS or something. Then once that got shut down and tif opened there was a thread about what we should change the acronym to and we decided on HYT. I like it! better than HT because you can say this acronym outloud and it makes word kinda (if you get what i mean)
Ravenkana
I believe that, according to Jagex's website advertising rules, you are to say NOTHING! Sucks, I know, but them's the breaks. If the CORPORAL beast is this hard, imagine how hard a GENERAL or COLONEL beast would be. a corporal is not even an admirable rank in armies that use that ranking system. Yeah, it is a pking minigame, so any arguments anybody makes will probably be biased. The best way this will end :Everybody just says,"I'm not arguing with you anymore, goodbye."The worst way this will end: I don't really know, psychological warfare? Worldwide thermonuclear war? Pie eating contest?
frakir_staer
^Yeah, well, HYT is meaningless unless you know what it means. If you do, I hope you wouldn't report the person who said it. Obtaurian
I prefer to say HTAYATPCIOBSFAIFTNTGYOMWTMNSTAINTYWWTOCOTYNLFWC. "Hi there, are you a Tipiter per chance? Master_Smither
^Yeah, well, HYT is meaningless unless you know what it means. If you do, I hope you wouldn't report the person who said it. I'm sure Jagex knows what it means and since it's only a greeting you can't get punished for it. But if you say the word Tip.it in Runescape thats a different story. "Are we allowed to name fansites in game without the ".com" part on them?" I'm afraid not. This would be classed as directing players to another website which is against the rules. As for the greetings they are clever and I know what they mean now if someone says them to me. I will also try to use them more often good idea :) Click for My Blog670th to 99 Smithing July 21st, 07 |743rd to 99 Mining November 29th, 07 | 649th to 99 Runecrafting May 18th, 08 | 29,050th to 99 Defence October 20th, 08 | 20,700th to 99 Magic November 8, 08 | 47,938th to 99 Attack December 19, 08 | 37,829th to 99 Hitpoints December 24, 08 | 68,604th to 99 Strength February 4, 09 | 27,983rd to 99 Range February 9, 09 | 9,725th to 99 Prayer June 8, 09 | 6,620th to 99 Slayer December, 12 09 | 4,075th to 99 Summoning December, 28 09 | 3,551th to 99 Herblore February 24, 10 | 3,192th to 99 Dungeoneering November 11, 10 | 146,600th to 99 Cooking December 29th, 10 | 11,333rd to 99 Construction June 7th, 11 | 16,648th to 99 Farming August 1st, 11 | 19,993th to 99 Crafting August 2nd, 11 | 89,739th to 99 Woodcutting Janurary 1st, 12 | 55,424th to 99 Fishing May 9th, 12| 60,648th to 99 Firemaking May 12th, 12 | 16666th to 99 Agility May 17th, 2012 | 24476th to 99 Hunter June 1st, 2012 | 57,881st to 99 Fletching June 1st, 2012 | All 99s June 1st, 2012 | 3183th to 120 Dungeoneering July 24th, 2012 | 2341st to 2496 Total level July 24th, 2012 | Completionist Cape July 24th, 2012
aeternitatis
The whole HYT thing seems a little lame to me. It's not the fact of greeting another Tip.It user, it's just that when you see someone you've met before in real life you don't just yell out "Hey you American!" or something like that. I think we should find a better greeting. "Only by going too far can one find out how far one can go." T.S. Eliot

Mr_Adam
Hyt is short, sweet easy to remember (or at least understand), and is an overall cool jubilee of three letters. People know what it is, and often reply, making conversations much more exciting than "fletching level?" I also like to say "BYT" (bye you tip.it'er) when I leave, I hope that would catch on :P PS. I also like hyt because my Rsn is pretty different than my tif-name. It kinda points out who I am (I've only been hyted two or three times). I shoulda just made the names the same, but a new tif name would be even more confusing :?
SomeWelshGuy
I see no point for a new temporary greeting to be honest. If someone said "Hyt, Merry Christmas" to me, I would understand what it meant, as opposed to "MCYT", where I would have no clue. Retired Tip.It Crew Mapper.
