Nerfs the chances of slices and the lv for smithing the plate is 92(?) Addy bars are the main source of smithing xp. Avianes are the main source of the bars. Less bars = less smithers. So if the bars go up in price over the new week, then I'll guessing they got nerf it they can't get bought up like they used to before W.G.S ? Actually steel is the main source of smithing xp ;) For f2p ;) Don't you know the first rule of MMO's? Anyone higher level than you has no life, and anyone lower than you is a noob. Fools_Taco Posted December 19, 2008 Share Posted December 19, 2008 Ok, im not so sure, and i may seem like a total dumba**. but i heard that the drop rate for avies changed, so i sure enough packed up my stuff and went there last week. hadnt been there in about a month. after a little while of killing, i compared the drop rate to my loot. it did seem that they now dropped them 1 in every 6 or 7 for me as opposed to one in every 4 like they used to. this is ofcourse with the ring of wealth and all. they did however seem to drop alot of rune daggers in place of them. over 20 in that one trip....as if that pays for not droping bars. and so i was wondering if it was true or if it was just me, and if the drop rates had really changed for the worse? has anyone else felt this or has a comment on this? jw Your one little noob trip to avians is hardly a large enough sample size to come to the conclusion that they augmented the drop rate. But I think it was my own shoddy luck, because I came across a fellow in Forsakenmage's chat who had very nearly a 1:1 addy bar to avies kill count ratio. And ROW does nothing whatsoever to bars, as they are not rare drops. Level does not matter. You can easily code excell to generate a random number out of two numbers and then graph the frequency of one of the numbers. The graph will ALWAYS sway wildly at the start and eventually move into a straight line. Individually, I've gotten 240 bars to 130 kills (last week), or 340 bars to 515 kills. I've had good trip streaks and bad trip streaks. But altogether, it averages out nicely. NO! The bar drops are not nerfed at all. I see you said you wore Ring of Wealth. This explains your bar drops being less than good. Ring of Wealth works to give you a better chance at getting a "rare" drop. Noted Addy Bars from aviansies are "not" a "rare" drop, so, ring of wealth will limit these drops in favor of rare drops. I and many of my friends and friends clans use Archers Ring at Aviansies and enjoy many more bar drops than lost souls relying on a ROW. I sincerely hope this helps you get the drops you want.
