baalboy5
If thats even spelled right^ You opinion on high levels without skill capes, are they not fullfilling their role as a good player to hop on the 99-bandwagon? I personally think that some people are just leveling at their own pace and don't feel the need to grind just because a 99 is due. What you think? Don't you know the first rule of MMO's? Anyone higher level than you has no life, and anyone lower than you is a noob. People in OT eat glass when they are bored.

langer
It's a game... Why would we put pressure on people to get skills cape? The point of this game is to have fun, not achieve anything... Let the players play their own game and start being concern only about your own. It's a role playing game... meaning you get to do what the hell you want, not some clique-regulated gameplay. tripsis
Some people like combat and others don't. It seems weird to me that someone with a low combat level but a skill cape or two is honored whereas someone with a high combat level without any skill capes is made fun of. People should just be able to level whatever they want, without being judged. - 99 fletching | 99 thieving | 99 construction | 99 herblore | 99 smithing | 99 woodcutting - - 99 runecrafting - 99 prayer - 125 combat - 95 farming - - Blog - DeviantART - Book Reviews & Blog
AdamMonkey0
I think that it's absolutely fine that someone doesn't have one. Some people are into money making and other such things, and probably attempting to first get levels to X+ levels. If they want the 99, they'll get i, but some people choose to have other goals before hand. Also, not just high levels should be addressed to when telling them they must or are required to have a skillcape. There are skillers, pures and other types of players that would have to be told this. Maybe we should also be shown the other person's total level before we make assumptions? PS: I'm level 106+9 (PvP) level and I still, after 4 years of playing, have NO skillcape, and I'm going to get as much 98s as possible to bug everyone!

sijan
113 combat. 1740ish total levels, all skills between 58 (RC) and 86 (HP), average is 72/skill. a) I have no need to get a skill cape, emotionally. No knock against those that have them, but I don't have that urge to race to the max level for one skill to get a cape. B) I'm physically incapable of doing the multiple-thousands of repetitions of a task in one stretch to get a 99 in something. The 99's will come when they come. I have a couple of friends that are impressed more by my high average level/skill than they are by their own 99's/skill capes. Depends on the player, imho. I personally prefer being to do almost everything in a bunch of skills rather than everything in one/a few skills and almost nothing in the rest. Kimberly
I've been playing for 4 years, have an 1800 total, have 124 cmb, and no 99's. I've also seen people who've played for a year who have maxed combat and a 900ish overall. The only role a player has to "fulfill" is to enjoy the game. Ubermager716
Skill capes never really impressed me. I am much more impressed by a person with a high total level, than by someone with mostly average levels and 1 or 2 99s. Enjoy the game how you want to, its nobodys buisness but yours. B_Ryan20
Why should we care about what other players do, or care what they think of us. Also, as long as your having fun thats all that matters.

Zaps
Coming from someone that has 1848 Total level and his lowest skills are 63 Runecrafting, Agility, and Thieving, and highest skill being 96 Magic, I don't care for 99 capes, I do what I find fun, including Spending my money :P Although, I do have a Quest Point cape, well, had one, F2P ftl :wall: Also, some might say that 99 skills are a sign of wealth and you should stay away from certain activities such as bursting Rock Lobsters, because you are "too poor" to get a 99 cape, even though I could have 100m+ without touching a single 99 cape. EDIT: I suppose I should add I'm 112+9 Combat :P
warren211
I am a 107+6 and I don't have any skillcapes OR questcape. I despise skilling and the only skill I train is slayer. And on a lot of tasks the combat exp isn't that great which is why my combat stats aren't that good after nearly 4 years of playing. [hide=]tip it would pay me $500.00 to keep my clothes ON :( :lol:But then again, you fail to realize that 101% of the people in this universe hate you. Moad14
I would like to see these same opinions arise in the actual game. Many Tip.it-ers have told me my accomplishments are pathetic, so I refuse to believe that RuneScape is about "having fun" in most people's eyes. Apart from my mini-rant, I would like to add that skillcapes really don't matter; I've had fun with what I've done and will never bash others for enjoying to play the game their way. I love to meet people; send me a pm if you see me on RuneScape! :)
J35u5_M4
I don't care if a high level has or not a skillcape, but seems like most people do, the other day I got insulted in F2P for not having my cape trimmed, :S
bakura18
Haha I have 98 attack, strength, defence, and have had 97 hunter and farming for more than 2 months, I'm not getting them anytime soon no matter what anyone says, I for one only had 1 skill cape up until 130 combat or so and always laughed when people go 'wth lvl 130 with one skillcape?!?!' as if they expect me to have like 10 skillcapes lol
FrostyGrunt
I don't pass judgment on another player if they're a high level but with no skill cape. There are plenty of other priorities and goals one can set besides getting 99 in something. Runescape is after all a Role Playing Game and being a 99 skiller isn't the only role to fill nor the most important, impressive or satisfying. However I consider a high combat level an achievement in of itself, negating the need to get a skill cape for respect. -Recipient of Lesser Demon Champion Scroll
