People are stupid. AGS is beat by whip + defender in every non spec situation, claws\whip + defender >>>>> AGS.

 

 

 

The crash started when a couple clans (and a few friends of mine) started trying to crash them, 10 people were spamming the forums and autotyping on w2 with offers of 'selling claws for min!!!!!' and not accepting trades, even while the claws were unbuyable for max, until a few people panicked and started dumping (friend dropped 19 claws on GE for max, I'm still telling him he'll regret it). They'll rise again.

 

 

 

Oh, and stupid thing like 'never went for above 20m' are wrong, I spent 5 hours getting my pair for 11 tables (33m) + 30m cash. Jagex doesn't magically change the price players sell at, it was a concentrated effort to cause the crash. I'm willing to be it won't last, and I'm hanging on to mine.

When the GE price finally got up to that point, people started selling them in GE for lowest thus the price will go down. Now that people are "freaking out", it will plummet down to around 20-25mil and then stabilize since that is the average BH price.

Please. People were selling (and buying) with junk for over 100m. BH was always around 45-50m due to the extra risk\hassle.

Hmm.. 10 people spamming forums changing the way that thousands of people price an item.. It definitely wouldn't be that alone. If you check the graphs you can see a point where the Claws rise by a large margin (may even be their max margin). This is likely a point when people started to duo cs them, as the price was a decent amount. This would cause many offers to begin to fill on the GE, and create the quick price jump. It could also have been Jagex messing with the GE like Carl said. I'm not sure, I don't watch it "that" closely. Anyways, on with the theory. So people would be coinsharing these claws as duo's and killing a decent amount of demons each trip. Definitely more than they could solo'ing separate. So we see the prices rise in nice big chunks due to all the offers being filled by the coinsharers, and claws are rising nicely. Then we see how it slightly slows as more and more offers have been filled. We see the one day without a rise which definitely creates a panic, and people begin to dump. The following day there is a solid rise due to the many offers being satisfied, and even at that time when people were warned about the unavoidable crash they denied it (mostly claw owners). Now they are falling but my guess is they will only fall until Monday.

They had reached the max price they were going to get at, and that's all.

 

 

 

Also, I doubt claws will go up past 40 Million again, chances of it happening ever are overly slim. To many in the Ge now to cause and rise at this stage.

The most that 99% of items will rise or fall is by 5% either way. Claws rose by the 5% for weeks, then, one day suddenly rose 4.5M (Even when they were still unbuyable at max). So, shouldn't the day it went up by that have satisfied many many customers? I think not. Then, after that rise we went back to the normal 5% rise, 1M here, 1.4M there etc etc.

 

 

 

Then, we get to the 5.9M rise that came out of no where. Now, a week or so before that rise claws were rather easy to get via the ge if you got your offer in early. (myself getting one pair at 17M and triplewich getting 5 pairs a day or two after.) Then, is when people started getting claws rather easily. After the 21%+ rise that they went up, it went back to the 5% rise which was the 1.7M. That's when it started to get REALLY messy. It wasn't until the morning after that rise that people started dumping.

Nope. The thing was, all of those people dumped their claws THEN got them to crash. My friend was part of it, it was one of the big merchanting clans. They made eveyone believe it was the big crash - without doing anything - until it was.

What are you talking about? I was watching it. They were selling for 4-5 tables AS people spammed 'selling for min! taking 100% junk!' 10 people spamming in w2, with only 2-3 legit buyers\sellers, and every single thread in the forums filled with 'selling for min!' spam made them drop. They didn't actually sell or even have any (they dumped them the previous night), but they convinced people who DID have them to sell them. This lead to a mass selling panic, and soon there were 10 legit sellers trying to sell. It snowballed out of control, just like the clan wanted. Now they'll wait and let them crash, snap up a few hundred sets for 20m, and watch as the market re-stabilizes when people realize that claws are better then AGS in every way yet harder to get.

Perhaps you could tell me when this great fall came about. They were trading for 11 tables the evening I bought my claws, 20 hours later they were still trading for 6-7 with the price rise. Then, the next morning, several clans dumped a couple hundred claws in the GE for max right after the update and began spamming the selling part, despite not having any of their own - they simply didn't accept trades. One thing lead to the next, and the price began to drop. They plan to buy them back up once it stops dropping and begins to rise again.

It's just a discussion thread now, lady_ninane. Claws already crashed with no real help from the OP. (Most people sold the claws before this thread was created.)

i will elaborate, r2pleasant and probably a dozen merchants bought up half wines til their price was 64mil, made a profit on the way. Dumped them, and then bought them back.

They shouldn't be worth 5 million, let alone 30 million. They are worth maybe 1 million tops, although if they compared realistically to other dragon items they should really be about 300k-500k.

Comp is right. I bought my d claws on GE for 30m (luck). Just prior to buying them I went to W2 and I saw multiple people offering 3rd age for claws. I probably should have gone back to take their offer, but I'm confident holding onto my claws won't lose me more than 1-5m, if at all (considering I bought at 30m).

 

There is no way street price dropped from 3rd age offers to 15m within 2-3 days without a strong base of merchanters manipulating.
