I found this post on the rsof and unless it's some weird humor it pretty much admits that the "clues" that jagex puts out are intentional and not something that we just make too big of a deal of.

Well Every year for 4 years a new skill has been released. However this year there is nothing that says a skill will be released. Maybe there are already too many skills and that they cant think of anymore, i cant but will there be a new skill this year?

Why this have to happen everytime we get a new expected update? Go back to when summoning weren't out yet, EVERYTHING was a clue for summoning, now if you check again for that "clues" you would realize it doesn't make any sense at all...

The leading proof of Summoning was a mod admitting they were planning that skill. The leading proof of sailing is a fake image of highscores everyone with some knowledge of painting could do.

Wasn't it longer than a year between Hunter and Summoning anyway?

it's not like jagex mods have to get all their posts approved by a single person who is in charge of managing public opinion of runescape. not all their replies are crafted to be subtle teasers about future content.

Cottage, maybe he meant every calendar year? I think you're right, not sure though.

 

 

 

As for what skill they're working on, I'm hoping for an exploration/archeology skill.

The time to retire is getting closer and closer...

Personally, I think we'll see the release of an Archaeology skill, along with Kudos Island. I mean, it makes sense, right? They're building the barge to go there to explore dusty old bones and that sort of thing. :P Could be a good money making skill... because contrary to Jagex's beliefs summoning is NOT a moneymaker so we're due for another. Hunter was the last moneymaking skill we've had.

No, which is exactly the point i am making, there aren't any clues.

I have no idea why everyone seems to hate sailing.....I can see it as a very viable skill.

Its not the idea of sailing i hate, its the fact that everytime any word anywhere relating to anything with water or the word skill, somebody creates a new thread shouting about how its a clue for sailing, it just really peeves me off, when they are all just commonly used phrases or words.

Rune brutal arrows. Sure, nobody ever uses them, but by that logic rune javelins are going to be used for an 'olympics' skill. Hm, there's already shotput in the warrior's guild... :twss:
