A new rare already? And Jagex hasn't done anything?

I think all broken pickaxes become normal pickaxes.

Didn't they say all the broken ones would fix themselves?

its the merchants taking advantage of noobs. the noobs believe that broken picks will become rares. jagex isnt that dumb, and merchants are buying them out and selling again and then the noobs will lose money. this is y merchants r d-bags...taking advantage of someone elses stupidity isnt nice...

Why not take advantage of them, the same noobs are responsible for massive price drops when they see noobswords (read that as godsword) drop like 1% in price. I have no issues with merchants taking money from dumb people.

A noob and his money are soon parted.

If we cant take advantage of noobs then who can we take advantage of.

I know I'll be reading through the forums over the next few days to see the reactions of the people that have purchased these items.

As you can see its the same paragraph that was in the post, but the last two lines were merely the player mods own words. I realize that the player mod's word is a lot more credible than others, but it IS just a player mod, not a Jagex mod. So we can't accept anything they say as a matter of fact.

The forum mod's responses are very strictly regulated. You can take anything coming from a forum mod as a direct comment from Jagex. They are not allowed to say anything that HASN'T been okay'd by a JMod when it comes to update and things like that.

You CAN accept it as fact, most of the time. The only time I could ever recall a forum mod being wrong about something was the possible discontinuation of cat-training medals. This is why their responses have since then been more regulated.

Jagex honestly wouldn't fail that bad, or would they? I doubt that they'll be rares, they'll delete the remains, and i'll laugh at the noobs who thought they wouldn't remove them.

The day randoms are removed, I'm gonna get a mug of hot chocolate and just lurk the RSOF all day. It'll be an LOL kind of day.

To put it bluntly, [bleep] off.

I guess only the broken pick part gets repaired since all the handels are identical (I once had a broken rune axe head that I picked up off the ground (the silly owner logged out too). Then one day when my addy pick came apart and I had the level for rune (but not the money :wall: ) I made myself a rune pick from the pieces.

Contrary to popular belief, Jagex is not collectively stupid or unobservant. They take a while to do stuff, simply due to a need for caution (because of the consequences if they mess up) and owing to the sheer size of their company. If one of the low downs notices something, it gets mentiond to their boss and enter teh que of ideas and fixs (or thats how I imagine it works). Basicly the people who notice things aren't always the ones with the power to fix it. This has led to Jagex being realisticly slow. The only things that actualy garner quick responses are major bug abuse, and even thats to slow. With the penguin incident several players across several of the RSOF forums were literaly screeming for Jagex to take notice of the bug. Granted they responded much faster than they did during 666. My point? People think Jagex won't notice, if only for a little bit. Maybe they will make it a real rare for a couple days, allowing people to cheat people out of money and then laugh as they remove the item. Thats what is happening, they'll just be removed a bit earlier.

I figured I'd be asking a mod to close this today... but they haven't updated it yet.

Tomorrow maybe?

Every day they fail to act, the prices just get more and more out of hand.

They don't have to act. If people want to buy broken pickaxes, that's their choice. Jagex' never stated it will be a new rare (and it won't), so these people have no rights to complain.

Jagex does not need to babysit this.
