pulli23
Well, some of the reason that Jagex gave to it being placed in Edgeville was because those Edgeville ruins are elvish, and Soul Wars is an elvish minigame (right?). But yeah, I agree with you that it should be placed in a somewhat more dead town than in Edgeville, which is crawling with people already. Edgeville is elvish? That's new for me lol.... Only minorlink from the old times is that it could be used as one of the beacons in the north from zaros' forces (which is explained in the quest from the camulet).. However i believe he mentions the ruins in wilderness with these towns.. First they came to fishingand I didn't speak out because I wasn't fishing Then they came to the yewsand I didn't speak out because I didn't cut yews Then they came for the oresand I didn't speak out because I didn't collect ores Then they came for meand there was no one left to speak out for me. Itsjustagame
I didn't read the responses thus far, but it's probably due to the background information dealing with edgeville. I remember a few quests with links to edgeville. Or the fact that lvl 3's can easily get to edgeville.
Kietaro1
Truthfully it was prboably because Edgeville already has a teleport, the Amulet of Glory. If it were placed elsewhere another piece of jewelry would require another teleport to be added. Seems very possible that they just went ahead and used an exsisting one. miracleman58
It's supposed to be accessable to everyone, even level 3's with no quest points. It would be unfair to place it in a city which requires level requirements or quests to access. That is not the point of the game. What can a level 3 do in Soul Wars except for leeching?Bury bones to increase the avatars slayer level and heal teammates with bandages. Without getting killed every 30 seconds? And doesn't burying bones give prayer xp. Setting up usefullbaricades. 1593th to 99 Farming - July 08.
Everyonedies
Since real pking was removed Edgeville was much less busy. There isnt that many things that cause people to go out in the wild from Edgeville anymore so. I dont understand some of you players the same ones that whine about where the portal is are the same ones that would whine if it was some place else not next to a tele destination. I mean really quit knit picking at everything. :shame: http://www.clanhavok.net/

It said that the kingdom of the Elves stretched as far as Edgeville or something like that. I'll do some research later. Due to my epic stats, I have now started WGS (but I still hate spoilers). The Runar
Get it out of f2p is my opinion. All I see walking by Edgeville is "OMG LOOKS A PORTAL IT LEADS IT ANDREWS HOUSE OMG OMG OMG!!!!!" :x And they think that they can't access it because their Sailing level is not high enough. Make a new piece of jewellery as a reward which would teleport you to the portal if it was moved?
mervinator_9
Ye I had to do a double take when I saw They'd placed the portal in Edgeville. It could have atleast been near the west coast, maybe by the Pictaris Hunting area. In fact anything up in that region would be nice. Theres a fine line between not listening and not caring,I like to think I walk this line every day. Pinning blame on Jagex is like trying to put pants on an old man. You both know he needs them, but he'll just keep dancing around, avoiding them at all costs.
War_Junky_91
I completely disagree with the original poster. Part of it being accessible is being in a easy to get to place. In fact when they made it I thought, well at least they put it in a good spot where people I know visit often, so it won't be so much trouble to get them all to play. You realize you're complaining about it being to convenient to get to? using the example already given, Trouble Brewing is a fun mini game with ok rewards as far as exp goes but is completely empty because of it's location. Moving it to a spot no one visits doesn't mean people visit that place, it just means fewer people visit the mini game. lastly, it's made to be a game with tons of people in it so they can kill the avatar quickly, so they put it in a place many people will go to. You forget that it takes a like what? Five quests to even get access to the island? But someplace like Nardah (has a bank) would be a perfect spot, all you need is like 500 gp and your there, no quests required. EDIT: At least seven quests just to get there. And thats without the quests that provide useful things like the ectophial and such. Cabin Fever requires Pirate's Treasure and Rum Deal Rum Deal requires Zogre Flesh Eaters Zogre Flesh Eaters requires Jungle Potion and Big Chompy Bird Hunting Jungle Potion requires Druidic Ritual And of course to even get to Port Phasmatys you need to do Priest in Peril. snowball
It's supposed to be accessable to everyone, even level 3's with no quest points. It would be unfair to place it in a city which requires level requirements or quests to access. That is not the point of the game. Is castle wars not past some aggressive level 53 Ogres? By the same token castle wars is "Open" to level 3's as well. THe thing is that a level 3 in castle wars has little luck, unless playing with other low levels. In Soul wars, there are monsters to fight that require slayer, thus they are useless unless they are burying bones and healing his/her team. Its possible they put it here so they dont need to add a new teleport, thus allowing them to use another teleport (Ring of dueling) for a future game. Now, they didn't need to put soul wars portal in edgeville, but It certainly doesn't need to be in nardah either. Putting it somewhere like the wild or burthrope/cammy/taverly area would be nice IMO. Or they could replace the portal with an NPC that is not such an eyesore Ok... Im not that good. But I have an anchor!!!
Animaslayer
they placed it in edgeville because the guy who made soul wars whatever his name is found that soul wars and the ruins are related somehow, it said it in the newspost im sure Dragon Drops: Platelegs x9, Med Helms x7, Plateskirts x4, Shield Left Half x3, At least 75+ Boots!, Hatchets x5, Ruined Shard x1, Solo Claws x2, Dragon 2Hander x1, Spear x2Whip x27, Dark Bows x9, Draconic Visage x1 <- do that when you see me :P
